  1. The only thing worse than listening to Smerlas is listening to him on the Bob Matthews show on WHAM.
  2. That might be a little high. If TT is only going to throw 10 times, two will be into the bench to avoid a sack. One will be deep to Goodwin. Three will be screens to McCoy which will be quickly swarmed by NE. Two more will stop the clock in between runs during the two minute drill. That only leaves two more targets between Woods, Clay, and whoever else is out there. One of those will go toward Woods, but he'll fall coming out of the break (pick-six). The other will be a goal line shovel pass to Felton to end the first half (as in, Felton will fail to get North/South and time will run out).
  3. Really, it is just as likely that things didn't get bumbled medically. Rex has no filter, no firewall. I think that is what leads to these problems. If he talks, people believe it is the corporate message, but it appears that he often talks more freely than he should.
  4. We win and go into the next matchup against NE at 5-2.
  5. And then he's going to be suspended and ultimately banned for life. Josh Gordon is no more valuable to this team than signing some 50 year old season ticket holder. Neither will see the field.
  6. I think that is a higher likelihood than Brisket going down with his finger. Brisket doesn't need a great finger to hand off the ball. JG needs a good shoulder to throw. Release the hounds! I'm not advocating intentional injury or dirty play, but the truth is a broken player shouldn't step onto the field. Make him test his mental toughness. See if he'll be distracted by pressure.
  7. All I know is that I told my wife that I get final approval on every kid that steps foot in my house tomorrow. Last year, one of my sons mistakenly invited an NE* fan to our house for the first NE* game. He sat there eating my food and smugly cheering his team. Kids only 16. Clearly a bandwagon fan. It irritated me to no end. Only Bills fans. I'm not feeding the enemy!!! Oh, and Buffalo chicken dip.
  8. We don't do that around here. We simply repeat that Russell Wilson was selected after Graham. No need to compare apples to apples.
  9. If we win Sunday, I predict a 5-2 record going into the next matchup with NE*
  10. I was going to come up with some retort for all the other haters, but I think you've covered it here. Time to shut down the thread.
  11. Should we be following Stan's plan while playing the Rams?
  12. Because every GM ever could have predicted Sammy's broken foot AND the long timetable for recovery.
  13. PUP isn't possible since he played already. IR is the only option.
  14. The only problem I have with Sammy and Rex talking about his status is that we should have kept it under wraps like NE. Now Bill* and Ernie******* have ample opportunity to focus on another threat offensively. If we had not informed them (like they are not informing us of their starting QB), we would have had an initial advantage. Even if such an advantage didn't last the first quarter, it would help in the short-term.
  15. I definitely think Jimmy's injury is more susceptible to aggravation. My son had a Grade 1 AC sprain this past year. He's pretty tough and he couldn't even sleep well for a couple weeks, let alone take a hit. If Jimmy G is the QB, I'd be shocked if Jerry doesn't get a 15 yard penalty just to test out Jimmy's resolve to play through pain. BTW, Can you imagine what would happen to Bruce if he played in this generation? Do you remember the time he hit Boomer and knocked him out cold on a false-start? Funny how the league has changed.
  16. TT only had one week in Lynn's system... Isn't that our excuse if he doesn't do well against NE? 😃 I really hope he's able to do more in the passing game with Sammy back.
  17. I think about 1000 yards came on about 20 carries. Part of the problem was that he couldn't be counted on as an every down back. One thing that characterized Thurman was his ability to fight for yards, fall forward, and run between the tackles. I'm not saying Freddy was ever as good as Thurman, but he definitely shared those characteristics. Spiller, on the other hand, wouldn't fall forward if he was shoved down a flight of stairs.
  18. I liked Rex's comments in the article...Just being Rex. We may not like Rex, but at least he's consistent and occasionally entertaining. He might have the same record as Jauron, but at least it will be more entertaining along the way!
  19. That's what I was thinking. Remember how our lbs used to pile up the tackles, but were making them after 8 yard runs? It is refreshing to see a defense that can stop the run.
  20. They definitely don't. The other factor is that new media distribution doesn't always show up in these "apples to apples" comparisons. It is not necessarily harder for them to track the eyeballs in the internet, but their survey mechanisms might not be asking the right questions. This can result in statistical anomalies.
  21. Targets matter to Clay and co. too. If Sammy is out there, NE has to respect him.
