  1. His comeback was amazing. I know he didn't return to play, but to even walk was amazing. High character guy and inspirational for sure.
  2. Tough day for football related deaths. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17803790/former-new-york-jets-de-dennis-byrd-killed-oklahoma-car-crash
  3. That's funny, because I think of him as the opposite of DeBerg. Perhaps we watched him at different points in his career. I think of Kelly as a Fitzpatrick/Manziel cross. I think of DeBerg as an decent running-team game-manager. My recollections are all those painful trips to Arrowhead (usually on MNF) during which Barry Word and Christian Okoye bludgeoned our undersized 3-4 into oblivion.
  4. Sometimes people describe the operation of a football team like it is a scene from that Pixar Movie Inside Out. Everybody scrambling to wrest control of the command panel. I'm sure that Rex might say, "Hey, he's a good QB stuck behind Flaco." But I doubt it is like Rex can sneak into Whaley's office and secretly sign TT. That would be rogue!
  5. That's pretty cool. My grandfather would tell stories of the old days. He was around when the team got started. He lived his whole life in EA, except for WWII. He'd go over and watch practices and got to meet a lot of the early players. My earliest Bills memory is Don Beebe landing on his head. From then on, I watched every game.
  6. Other than the last couple innings of the Boston series, I was done once my Mets were done. I met watch the last game of the WS to see the Cubs figure out a way to lose! I wouldn't want to miss history in the making (or repeating itself).
  7. We are still not big time...until we are the big red blob.
  8. I always find these types of interviews interesting. How can Brown actually talk about such a topic without hinting at what their gameplan might entail? No wonder the Hoodie mumbles so much!
  9. That's some high-level public service right there.
  10. The one thing they are good for is click-bait. Gotta keep selling ads.
  11. I can't think of a time when our line was this good, since the Super Bowl years. I know we had some years when Travis Henry was running over everyone, so they must have been solid in the early 2000's, but I don't remember who they were at that point. I do remember Ballard, Parker, Hull, Richer, and Wolford. It is funny to think back to that era and compare the size of guys playing then vs. now. I remember Madden making a big deal about Jim "Jumbo" Elliot on the Giants. He barely topped 300 lbs.!
  12. I think a big reason is because they use hurry up during regular game situations. That has to make you more comfortable during the real 2 minute drill.
  13. Cool! I was just asking about the levels the other day. Working to get off my rookie contract.
  14. That's a Haiku? I always thought it was a weird poem. I'm gonna sue my grade school. That's a real hot take from Steve! Maybe he just got around to watching the 30 for 30!
  15. I want to see him pummeled because he plays for the other team, not because I have concerns about the factual basis of some of his opinions. I want to see him booed because I want him to know that his opinion of what is happening is not the only opinion. In fact, I want him to continue kneeling and for fans to continue booing because that is tremendously American. Everybody has the right to free speech - Kaep and the fans. As long as his employer hasn't limited his expression, he should be free to continue. He should also freely anticipate some blowback from fans who disagree with his form of expression. Freedom of speech includes the right to tell someone that you agree or disagree. When it is a passionate subject, you better expect a bit of yelling and perhaps a little vitriol. It has always been that way and it should continue Kaep's display will all end when he gets injured for the remainder of the season and gets put on IR. I'd be surprised if he continued after this season. There will be well-written statements from his camp about how they are proactively pursuing alternative avenues for dialogue and activism...and that will be the end of this whole saga. GASP! What "news" will ESPN cover when that happens?
  16. Sometimes it is good to live far away from the big city... ...then the local sports radio station starts covering HS soccer. I'd take Sabre's hockey over live HS soccer anyday.
  17. Maybe they were trying to watch a replay on Bellichik's broken tablet.
  18. Yup - extremely painful trap. I almost want to go do something else Sunday!
  19. Schobel sacks? I really liked Aaron's "motor" but I was never convinced that he was as good as advertised. I did feel bad for him when they forced him into playing a 3-4 OLB. It was obvious he was not a fit.
  20. I predict a football game at 1:00pm, but I've been wrong before. Same as the other thread: Bills 30-9 Niners Carp misses XP on one of four TDs, but also makes a much more difficult FG.
  21. 30-9 (if you have to ask which way, you shouldn't be allowed on the site). BTW, that score only includes one made FG, but four TD's for the good guys.
