  1. It is a little late in Gronk's career for our team to be figuring this out! He's already on his way to rewriting the TE recordbook.
  2. I think the Packers are an excellent example of what you are arguing. Lacking Jordie Nelson, AR looked progressively (relatively) poor. Lacking a good running game this year, he has also struggled at times. The talent around a QB matters. Buffalo was running with a preseason lineup out there at most skill positions.
  3. It doesn't matter how much money he gets. This is based on how many free agents the Browns lost last year. They are predicting the NFL will give them an end-of-the-third-round compensatory pick in the 2017 draft. If the NFL does not, the ESPN article says that NE will get a fourth round pick. The article does not list a year, but the inference is 2017.
  4. It may mean that they intend to be active in FA next offseason. Some teams bundle their signings every other year in order to maximize their compensatory picks. One year on/one year off, gives you more bang for your buck. This is purely anecdotal, but I tend to remember the Cheats getting a lot of picks that way over the years.
  5. I didn't think his game was egregious, but I didn't think he played well either...That is an assessment coming from a guy who thinks we should go with TT at least one more year after this. It is hard to tell how much is the skill-position-talent vs. the QB. Either way, they weren't competitive, especially after the gift TD to start the 2nd half.
  6. It's a compensatory 3rd, so it would come after all the regular 3rd round picks are complete - likely 97th.
  7. I tend to think this is just the Hoodie************ putting the defense on notice. Perform or else you'll be exiled to Siberi...er...Cleveland.
  8. I'd agree...for the QB and the team. That was just plain dirty IMHO. I've never been Stillers fan and that just added to my distaste for the team. I was pretty sure he'd spend significant time in the hospital and a rehab center. That was one sick hit. In many ways, it was like the Landry hit on AWill last week (except QB's are not accustomed to looking for blockers!).
  9. That is definitely where my hopes lie. I enjoy watching Brady* get frustrated almost as much as I enjoy watching us win.
  10. If this was the case, Bradley should have Rexed the whole deal - fire the impending interim and elevate an unknown quantity. I find this promotion of Hacket dubious at best. If the QB is the biggest problem on the team, why promote his coach? Tanking???
  11. I think they will be 7-9 or 10-6. I can see them going one of two ways... I think they will either sputter into mediocrity or really get going in the right direction. The schedule just has too many tough games to get above 10 wins.
  12. Quite possible. If things go poorly this year, they can bring him in late in the season and "IR" someone else. It always fascinates me how teams can stash players in Nov. and Dec.
  13. Looking at his assignment history I noticed a few things. Perry has not called many NE* games in recent years. 2. He has only called a couple of this matchup in his career. Third: He called the Giants SB win over NE. That intrigues me the most because it was a game where Marcia got hit a lot.
  14. We love to hate and hate to love. Bills fans (headshake).
  15. I think this is pretty accurate. Since you can't draft your staff, I'll go with P1 - WR P2 - RT and Safety P3 - Corner If Gilmore walks, we may need to seek out WR help in FA and address CB in R1 of the draft.
  16. Can't do blue helmets per NFL rules. The core helmet color must be the same from week to week. I suspect it is related to safety (switching helmets may result in ill-fitted helmets). As far as the red jerseys, I just disagree. I know it is merely opinion, but I have never liked the red jersey, nor the red pants. I love the blue and white combinations as well as the white on white.
  17. I think that his trajectory is very hard to determine with the absence of starting WR talent. Time will tell.
  18. Russ is trying to distract us from the problems last week!
  19. I think there is a significant connection between the 3rd down conversion rate and the sack rate. The sacks lead to long third downs. Keep the QB safe and everything gets better.
  20. Oh no...just in time for him to pull his other hammy! Actually, as frustrated as I've been with his absences, we really need him back.
  21. Game on the line and TT has his hands tied by a lack of playmaking talent at WR. I'd live to see TT get some consistent time with any of our receivers. I do have to admit that I prefer the football choices over the election! Obviously the CFL isn't available in Utah, otherwise you'd avoid such a statement.
  22. TBH, I wouldn't know the difference between Gabe Ikard and Gabe Northern, so I'm not too worried.
  23. Where have you been? Brady* always talks trash! It just isn't in the press. It's on the field. His trash talking is a major reason why the rivalry is so heated, despite the lopsided record.
