  1. Good historical citation...Funny how he went to Seattle after he won the SB MVP, only to flame out and return to NE humbled, late in his career.
  2. It will be interesting to see McD's influence on the Gilmore decision. He saw what happens when you let corner talent walk in Carolina. His scheme is a zone concept primarily, so Gillie might be less valuable here than somewhere else. BTW, good topic re: Bills' defense performance at Pro Bowl, but it wasn't actually the Bills D...just some of the notable characters. I did like how the defenses were a bit chippy, especially since we didn't have any offensive players risking their careers!
  3. Just imagine the stat line if those receivers hadn't been interfered with in the end zone. Two of the most egregious non calls I've ever seen.
  4. His recent play makes Romans performance in SF look much better.
  5. The switch for 95 will be much easier than the switch for 94. He was being asked to switch to 3-4 olb while playing at the same weight as Bruce in his prime. He was going to be dropping into coverage and running down RBs in the flat... Not enticing for a pass-rusher.
  6. Career ST coaches are not a threat to the system from which the HC hails. It's not like McD has a unique ST system which may conflict with Crossman. In contrast, OC's and DC's have specific systems and philosophies. +1 LOL
  7. That or the sister we never heard of I think his answer to the "Face" question hints at the Pegs' plan for pressers: They and DW won't be doing them now that McD is in the house.
  8. I'm ok with that. If there is a battle between McD and Dareus re: discipline, Dareus needs to lose. I'm not saying McD needs to pick a fight, but if that's what it comes to, I'm confident McD will not bend.
  9. No concern for me. I don't want him to be a talking head. ESPN has enough of those. He's a businessman. That's why businessmen join Toastmasters or other organizations. A brilliant business mind doesn't always translate into a brilliant communicator. Communicating, especially on TV is a highly specialized ability. We take it for granted because of the amount of TV talent in our society, but that doesn't mean everyone has that type of training or experience.
  10. Pretty good. I think you nailed the list. I think you may have nailed it in order too. Bonus points!
  11. Umm... Super bowl champs!? Maybe we should pursue him. 😀
  12. That's funny...you could listen to Cowherd on almost any day of the NBA season and he will bash Carmelo. He must have lost a lot of money on that SU vs. KU championship, because he is really down on Carmelo. As for the winner debate...I like what Bellicheat said about playoff experience - overrated. "Winner" in Cowherd's vocabulary is essentially a synonym for playoff success. There just isn't a lot of it out there, yet new teams figure out ways to win championships. Case in point...GSW or Broncos from 2015. How did Peyton, the best "winner" on the team, help the Denver?
  13. All assistants are assistants, so that doesn't make a difference. The reason most assistants have freedom to move on is due to the length of contracts offered to assistants. Lower-level assistants often have one year deals.
  14. IIRC, he and his wife are Catholic. They home school their kids. Disrupting their home for a late-career move was not attractive to the family. That was what I read when rumors were flying in the past couple years. For those unfamiliar with home schooling, it can be quite challenging to move to a different state or even a different school district in the same state. Policies vary widely and that can be difficult to accommodate.
  15. That's all he had in Denver with Tebow. They ran to set up the run that year! He can get it done in the run game too.
  16. If they did that, they might as well position that replay studio in Las Vegas because that is what everyone will assume. The NFL replay rules are not about fair results. They are about the perception of fairness, particularly for the betting public. It's about plausible deniability. If a moron on the field makes a mistake, that is deemed human error and "can't" be overcome. If a referee was ever exposed for fixing games, the league would be aghast and simply fire the individual. If they pursue meaningful remedies to the officiating problem by implementing unlimited replay, they open themselves to the appearance of collusion with Vegas. That'd be terrible for Vegas and consequently would sound the death knell for viewership.
  17. One thing to like about Goodwin is that the Cardinals have consistently found ways to get their best players the ball. I think that we'll love the Sammy pick if we start using him like they use Fitzgerald in AZ. They are also pretty good at getting RB's involved in multiple ways. I like Lynn because he's shown ability with the current roster, but I'd love to have Goodwin. One concern about first time HC's is how they construct their staff. Who would be their DC? I'd like an established DC with a clear philosophy if I was going to hire a young HC.
  18. DON'T forget that Gragg may recover to provide another TE. O'Leary is developing nicely and a new OC will probably utilize Sammy more appropriately. I'd be happy to see our wr corps retained. Does anyone know if Easley will recover?
  19. I don't do a lot with twitter, but last offseason I found that it was the best way to get the freshest news on the Bills. I'm curious... What are your favorite twitter follows for Bills news? What makes them worth following?
  20. Polian has been in an odd relationship with Buffalo ever since he left. I think he likes to be thought of as friendly to Buffalo, but I also think that has to do with his desire to get into the HoF.
  21. I'm not sure that he forced them out of hiding. It'd be great to know when JW had his interview with Terry scheduled. I think this may have been orchestrated.
  22. I've got sling tv so I could watch it on demand. I've watched it a few times with each of my sons. Even the mrs. enjoyed it. It's an interesting episode. I really like that they did a whole show, not just an 7 minute segment on the Tailgating.
  23. Aren't they the only remaining AFC team with a starting a the helm?
