Would you re-sign Justin Hunter?
dulles replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can he play ST? I can't remember him on any meaningful plays. I think that is crucial. You can't be a WR4 w/o being available for ST. Do you remember when Beebe broke his leg covering a kickoff? He was our WR2. -
Bills favorite to land Pro Bowl FB Kyle Juszczyk; womp womp
dulles replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a vital fit for the offense. More of an HBack type rather than a sixth Olineman like Felton. -
Bills reportedly interested in FA DE Jack Crawford

Chazzer's big brother. -
Can you say extension? TT's extension is really going to put is in a tight place cap-wise.

It is not about who is better than Tyrod, RIGHT NOW.
dulles replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the money is the biggest "expense" of keeping TT. I think it is the draftpick you can't afford to spend on a QB because of being so tight to the cap. -
You might get the best of both worlds...Draft Watson, watch Cardale, and as a bonus...pleasant memories of good ol' Tyrod.

Most importantly, he'd eat up a LOT of cap space. We have two choices - cut TT and draft a QB or run with TT and hope we can patch together a playoff roster this year. We are really tight on cap space once TT is signed. It is impacting other positions already (see Gilly). -
Report... Trubisky only 6-1
dulles replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought you were giving his win-loss record. All sorts of lines came to mind... Wins aren't a QB stat. Too small of a sample size. -
Good.

The other factor is $$$. Although there are plenty of people who don't like the POTUS, there are plenty that do. Although there is a popular narrative that those who like the POTUS are uneducated, illiterates, they actually buy stuff. So, insulting a large segment of your market is rarely good for a business, even if that segment is not a majority of your customer base. Although I have strong views politically, I don't think I have posted a single political item on FB throughout the past 7 years for this very reason: If you want people to hear your message/sales pitch/cause, you better not dilute your communications with secondary items. It is likely that politics is not a great focal point of their sports coverage, so they cut their losses. I think it is noteworthy because we've gotten so accustomed to our sports coverage being politicized (see ESPN). I think the OP may have been noting the connection to sports journalism. There is also the common thread of Rex/Trump, Trump trying to buy the Bills, etc.

How good was Leo in zone vs. man schemes? That's the big question. If he's decent in zone, then we should take a look. Just don't let him return kicks vs. NE*

What 1 position should the Bills focus on in FA?
dulles replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we go safety in the draft (Rd.1 or 2), we can go tackle in FA. I'd have to trust the OP regarding the depth of tackles in the draft...I haven't looked at the pool (puddle?) of talent. -
No Holding Calls on the Pats?
dulles replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Extrajudicial "fairness" is NEVER supposed to color an official's calls. If they see it, they should call it. They have no way of knowing whether or not their "fair" "offsetting" no-call is actually fair. This particular play could have easily made it into the old "You make the call" series. I wouldn't doubt that it becomes fodder for NFL training. You are saying that they got it wrong...to which I agree. But, to come back and say they would have still gotten it wrong, even if they had a chance to NOT get it wrong is illogical. If they had a chance to get it right, then both facemask penalties would have been called. -
No Holding Calls on the Pats?
dulles replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem is that a no call there is not a wash. Since only 1 penalty can be called on each team, the second (hypothetical) facemask penalty on ATL would have been ignored. The first (hypothetical) facemask penalty against NE would have offset the first (actual) holding penalty on ATL. They would have offset and replayed the down. That would have given the game to ATL because they would have been in FG range still. HUGE miss by the officials, but expected by unbiased observers. -
I think that's what we saw when we played them with Brisset earlier in the year. He wasn't upset at all by the loss. He knew which gameplan "could" work the best, but still knew it wasn't "assured" to produce a win. He tried it. It failed. He learned. The team progressed. The problem with many teams is impatience. Bellichik is demanding and deals with urgency, but not impatience on an organizational level. It is a remarkable trait he exemplifies.

Hundreds come out to Gillette to greet champs
dulles replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At first I was like "who cares?" But then I read the hundreds... Pretty funny actually. When Buffalo wins the SB, they'll have to bring in the national guard to do crowd control. That crowd will exceed game-day capacities easily. -
Man, this one is hard to take
dulles replied to billsfanmiami(oh)'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fixed it for ya. -
It's the offseason. You'll get over it. BTW, I'm kinda glad we didn't get Shanahan as our HC. I'm not too keen on how he called the second half. Also, the ST coach who didn't prep the kick returner for ATL should be severely reprimanded. There is no way that kick should have been brought out.

Has a backup qb gone onto greatness somewhere else
dulles replied to judman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If not for the cheats, it could've been his third. -
I agree with your evaluation of the talent vs. price tag. We don't know for sure what the market will be for Woods... If it is $8, I wouldn't be buying either. I would still prefer a guy that is better at blocking than dancing. Hopefully for Robert's sake, the trainers on his new team can properly fit him with cleats that don't immediately prompt inexplicable slips and falls.
-
As much as I like his talent, I'd rather retain Woods and Hunter for blocking as well as their trajectory is upward. Cruz is in decline. You can't play him on ST either.

Chris Ballard hired as next GM for Colts
dulles replied to OneBuffalo1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be concerned if I was a Colts fan... Quote from Ballard on ESPN feed: "Wow! I'm jacked. I haven't slept in three nights." Three days and Ballard has already fallen prey to Irsay's bad habits.
