  1. Reading the headline quickly, I thought I read something about a plan devised by your Seven Year Old... I thought to myself, "Hey, you never know!"
  2. I would agree with you on those points...I am just a "slow change at QB" kinda guy. You can't go Hue Jackson on the starting QB situation without getting into trouble in a hurry. I do like Peterman's apparent command of the offense. I heard that he had been working on 2-minute offense during the week. Evidently he audibled at the line. He threw some dangerous passes. He threw guys open. There was a lot to like.
  3. Who was the DC when we had a strong safety playing MLB? 43 is the MIKE! 43 is the MIKE!
  4. Oh that's right...Wannstedts 401k took a dump, so he padded his income for a couple years at our expense. I guess I had blocked that from my memory!
  5. The catch is in your comment about Edwards...once everyone realized that he would simply take what the defense gave him, they only gave him 1 yard outs to unathletic TE's and FB's. Peterman's first three throws were like that - take what is given. Fortunately, he made more plays after that which weren't "givens."
  6. It was pretty weak - like mid-drought weak. Who was the DC before Pettine? Something from that painful era.
  7. It was like watching a high school team get crushed...not a pretty day.
  8. I think some people have been part of this board longer than they have been part of their families. I've been reading this for over 10 years, member and posting for 4...I have no idea how people get such high post counts!
  9. It's not a bad way to do it... If he succeeds, you get credit. If he fails, he was the QB from the last regime...and your draft position improves.
  10. I'm sure they will get a lot done with the draft and free agency...they have enough opportunities for sure. Whether those opportunities pan out will be something to watch. We don't know what Beane's performance will look like because we don't know how much influence he had in Car.
  11. Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny.
  12. Punt75, you'll get used to the expected standards...don't post a new one until you've searched the Wall. It is HIGHLY unlikely that you will start many threads, but if you find your topic, you'll also find plenty of good conversation.
  13. If you take out Shady's big run on the first drive, we looked pretty bad. Can't even get a half yard with the "Tol-dozer" - that was pathetic! The issue with TT is that he WON'T/CAN'T throw guys open. He's reaching Trentative levels of check-downedness. You know it is bad when you see a Case Keenum highlight and you start wishing...
  14. I agree we need upgrades, but I cannot agree about Preston at the Mike. He was way out of position on many plays that Keuchly would have made. I know that he is not Keuchly, but that is what we need at the mike. We also need some beef up front. We missed Dareus, even if he was a locker room cancer or didn't like the process. On the OL (or should we call it the LOL...) Mills was just abused again. I think the whole right side needs to be replaced.
  15. But if everyone starts a Peterman post and everyone gets to reply, I can increase my post count dramatically.
  16. Lose out...trust the process. Actually, I'm going for 15-4 and SB Trophy, but it seems increasingly unlikely. After all this time thinking that KW95 was the glue that held the defense together, now we see that it was MD99 all along. Amazing! Today's run defense was so alarming that I kept having flashbacks of TB12*** yelling "43 is the mike!" Quick, pickup their backup RB for an easy fantasy win next Sunday!
  17. I'm beginning to think that Dennison doesn't trust TT to make the decisions that he needs to make. I'm also thinking Rico may be a closet Peterman backer...He really let the kid play in the closing minutes.
  18. I think if we lose one more, we need to look to Peterman.
  19. If you like a guy, you move heaven and earth to get that guy. In today's NFL, you can't develop more than one at a time. If one bombs, you'll stink enough to draft another (or perhaps your replacement as GM will).
  20. I think it is lowbrow for a reporter to ask such a question. Yes, Tyrod didn't look the part today. No, Tyrod doesn't need to answer stupid questions like this. Hope the "journo" got his chuckles. If this is his consistent shtick, his stint will done soon enough.
  21. Does McD have an opt out clause in his contract? LOL
  22. If our bye or our "mini-bye" came later in the year, I think it would be even more tempting to make the switch. Peterman looked competent against the NO shell defense at the end, but I am always reticent to assess a player based on those situations. I thought it was VERY interesting that McD let Rico open up the offense with Peterman in the game. If they were protecting against a QB controversy, they should have handed the ball to Tolbert three more times and called in Schmidt to punt once more.
  23. I would be concerned about durability too.
  24. But it doesn't take a doctor to see that the damage exposure is consistent with other combat sports. How's this for anecdotal evidence: Connor McGreggor going crazy at the recent Belator event! LOL
  25. I agree that politics are pervasive, but there seems to be a segment of ESPN's market which views ESPN's commentary on politics to be tilted in a general direction. I don't think they have to walk away from that...they just need to recognize the market dynamics. It's OK for ESPN to be political. It creates a new market niche for another sports broadcaster. After all, we all have a political persuasion, so lets be transparent. It also means that the sports fan needs to get used to going to more than one place to get their sports news. For decades, that was not the case. ESPN was the source and people got used to that. We are seeing a massive shift in the sports broadcasting landscape and with the onset of streaming broadcasts, we are just at the beginning.
