  1. I think Rex's D is the prime example of exotic looks gone bad. If you can bring standard looks, occasional blitz packages, and pressure with just four linemen, you are much more stable on D. Schwartz and games 1-7 under McD are evidence of the benefits of a less exotic look.
  2. Kroenke is a genius...a reclusive, weird one, but a genius nonetheless. He got a team in LA. He rode Jeff Fisher to mediocrity and a good quarterback...then he made the switch to a good Coach/OC. Surprising, based on what we witnessed in St.L for the past decade.
  3. If McD didn't make the move, I think the team would blame him. Since he made the change, McD now has a couple more games of increased effort from the team. They will pull for the young guy...at least until he hangs the WR's out to dry or frustrates the defense. It was the move that McD needs to make now or very soon.
  4. I think the treatment that he's getting in Europe is probably the type of stuff we'd be uneasy with if he was playing the rest of this season. I really don't think the NFL is going to check out his meds too closely when he's on IR the rest of this year. HGH...no problem, etc. I think it goes without saying that it is in the best interest of the NFL to get QBs like Luck back on the field.
  5. I am super excited to see what happens...unfortunately I have a prior obligation. Definitely going to be catching score updates frequently.
  6. He may have even more than 7 years, but if he can't get this throwing shoulder fixed, he may be done in 2. Do you remember when Chad Pennington's shoulder went soft. It was over pretty quickly at that point.
  7. Sunday was definitely a painful experience, especially watching third down.
  8. and he provides the wild-card characteristics which are attractive in a back up too.
  9. I don't think it is immature...It may be wrong, but immature would sound more like a jr. high spat.
  10. They have made the playoffs, but he's hurt by his choices, his Oline, his GM, and his coach. Oh, don't forget the crazy owner. They really blew it when they brought Pagano back instead of promoting Bruce Arians. That was the end of Luck's progress.
  11. I hope that NP is a little more careful with his body on the field.
  12. Getting a diagnosis prior to death is an initial step toward understanding causation, which is the holy grail for treatment.
  13. I'm not a big fan of taking QBs on the downward slope of their career. I think Luck is fading and I don't think he'd be inclined toward joining another team that has OLine issues.
  14. I do like a QB that has the little something extra - Rodgers, Big Ben, Marino with the fake spike... Knowing the rules is part of playing the position. Hopefully Peterman is watching.
  15. Yeah, gotta agree with you there. There were also some crazy SB years - lots of Bickering Bills, etc.
  16. Maybe if we get some quotes like this from Brown and Humber, we might see a renewed interest in gap discipline, running fast to make a play, and ability to bring a RB to the ground. I'm glad that Hyde is backing the move, but I don't know how this will actually pay dividends on the defensive side, unless Peterman can deliver on his side of the ball. In this scheme, that means that Peterman can't actually do the "Favre" thing too much. Can't risk turnovers like the ol' gunslinger.
  17. That is what I'm afraid of...not because of Nate's track record, but because of our historical patterns!
  18. I think you have to throw out at least the first 3 throws. You should probably throw out the fourth throw, an incompletion as well. So, now he's 4-6 with about 40 yards and a TD. Definitely a small sample size, but then again, they aren't making the change based on what they have seen from Peterman in games. They are making changes based on what they've seen from TT in games. That is not a small sample size anymore. I am in favor of the move, btw.
  19. I thought this was going to be an over/under on how long until people call for Peterman's demotion...so disappointed.
  20. I agree. He just needs to see some classic Shanny/Kukiak/Rico running lanes and he'll be drooling at the change. This running game is predicated on the counter attack in the passing game. It was clear that TT wasn't going to make a defense pay for crowding the box.. Hopefully Peterman can, otherwise we are headed for a long December.
  21. Can't be jinxed. "Mr. 1/3 of a yard and pile of dust" AKA Tolbert was also held out of practice.
  22. He just has to target Benjamin and execute a 3 step drop.
  23. It is pretty sad that, although we are in the 6th seed, everyone is predicting our continued death-spiral. When leonbus23 posted the picture above, I saw the Bills record and thought, "Looks about right!" With a win on Sunday, they are in a strong position. How shell-shocked are we by this 17 year run!?!
  24. I agree that it is not a fast change, but if Peterman doesn't pan out, you have egg on your face and you can't really go back to TT. Your "Process" and every other shred of credibility is gone. Now you have deeper issues. With that said, I think the time is drawing near...it might not be this week, but within a month for sure.
  25. Maybe Fitzy is part of his real name...Maybe he is Fitzy!
