  1. I still have that memory of this fat chick in her San Diego # 7 jersey jumping up and down like someone offered her free mighty taco in 2001 when they put Flutie in the game. He really lit it up. Something like 3 for 15 and 60 yards. So much for that magic. I can't believe someone would be that pathetic to turn on their own team just because their favorite little smurf got tossed. To each their own
  2. He divided the locker room and it was well known that when Doug was the starter and Rob was the backup everything was fine. But in 99 when it became clear that Flutie's play was declining things started to turn. The 2000 season was a nightmare and Flutie actually went on TSN in Canada to complain rather than deal with the Buffalo media. When the new coaching staff made both Flutie and Johnson come back to Buffalo in 2001 to speak with Williams and company, Flutie made no secret of his disgust. It is well documented that he basically told the coaches that if he was selected he was playing his game, regardless of the west coast offense they wanted to install. He was every bit the cancer he's been described as. He played great in 1998. No doubt. He did not play great in 1999. In 2000 he wasn't the starter and pouted or took shots at Johnson in the media. That is why he got cut. He's a cancer when things don't go well.
  3. Of course FSU will brush it off. In the grand tradition of Bobby Bowden, the chances of a star player getting suspended, convicted or tossed in Tally are next to nil. Save for Laverneus Coles, it is hard to find anyone who actually has paid a price for the **** they pull. Worst case is he runs the steps of Doak.
  4. We have a Serta icomfort. It is very firm but 3 years in it has held up very well. I am a good 50 lbs heavier than my wife so I rotate the mattress every few months and thus far we have had no issues with it sagging, and definitely no issues with heat which is important given we live down south, It isn't cheap, but a good night sleep is important. I have heard good things about the Tempur Pedic's but those were a bit outside what I was willing to spend.
  5. I still shake my head that a town that went crazy over Flutie didn't see the wisdom of taking Russell Wilson. Not to mention Nick Foles (who I am not sold on, but still think he's a hell of a lot better than EJ). But I guess I s/b thankful that we have TJ Graham.
  6. I'm a Cane and I fell over and spit water on my keyboard. Tommy Streeter isn't NFL ready. He spent two years doing nothing, then Al Golden revitalized his career to which he played very well to which Streeter rewarded the school and the coaches by leaving early, all to become a late round pick. I still don't think he's caught a ball in the NFL. Ask the Ravens fans about Tommy's work ethic. Golden and his coaches were the only guys to turn on the switch, but otherwise he's another from that Miami Northwestern class that was supposed to dominate that ended up doing next to nothing.
  7. Watching Hughes taunt the Steelers after his 2nd sack turned my stomach. The guy can play a little but we got our asses whipped and the defense was just as culpable as the offense. Last I checked, 'scoreboard' is still the only thing that matters.
  8. Forget today's disaster and I still don't see why anyone would be sold on this guy. He's got about as much passion as Dick Jauron on red bull, which isn't saying much and while up until today I saw great effort, it was more from the defensive side of the ball, which isn't his fortay. I still think we reached for both him and EJ. I watched EJ play for 3+ years and even Nole fans were shocked that he was a mid first round pick. Ponder was stupid, EJ was ridiculous. At best a 2nd rounder, perhaps a 3rd. Marrone's teams at Syracuse didn't do much for me either. Jury is way out on both of them.
