He still has a column? I dismissed him so long ago, I almost forgot he still existed. Is he even relevant to the real die hard Bills fans?
-
Even Chan Gailey could do better as OC with this offense. Granted they're winning but it's despite having Hackett as OC. Offer him the open UB coaching job. he's better suited for the college level right now, and with 2 years experience in the NFL, he might be a good fit for the Bulls.

They take away Watkins, Woods steps up. That's what we need from him.

1) D E F E N S E!!!!!!! 2) Robert Woods is a very good #2 receiver 3) Running game better with Jackson back, they could have run it a little more 4) Hackett's play calling was a little better today. Winning makes him look better than he really is. 5) Johnny fumbled that football, should have been another Bills TD 6) Who's MarQuies Gray and where did he come from? 7) I got a feeling we're going to upset one of those 3 super bowl contenders 8) Thigpen should handle all return duties for the rest of the season 9) I hope Mike Williams can find success on another team 10) We're 7-5 and still in the playoff hunt even though the odds are against us. Worst case scenario is an 8-8 record.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm ..................... NO!
-
He's dangerous when healthy. Problem is, he can't stay healthy and the coaches don't know how to use him right.
-
EJ could have played the entire 4th qtr. The game was already over. No way we were gonna blow that game with the way the D was beating the hell out of the Jets offense.

If the game is moved to a new location, ticket refunds?

Back to the Rogers Center for 1 more game. Why not? We've been playing a game there the last few years anyway. -
There it is in a nutshell!!

1) Red zone offense has us all seeing red 2) I don't think the running game is really that bad, it's the way it's being used that's hurting it. Not having FJ & CJ makes a difference, but still..... 3) Halftime adjustments????????????????????? HELLO????????????? 4) Great defensive line, underneath coverage got exposed once again. 5) Critical penalties (again) at critical times. The PI call on Gilmore was shaky 6) Dixon & Brown can be effective runners in a ground & pound attack. Should have used it more. 7) Orton's been exposed. Put enough pressure on his pocket, and his accuracy & effectiveness goes downhill. Lack of good mobility limits his effectiveness. EJ is better on the run, I hope he's learning something. 8) Can't win games with just field goals. 9) Neither team was good enough on offense. Dolphins just wanted this game more. 10) Winning record at home, winning record in your division, and win the games you're supposed to win. THAT'S what gets you to the playoffs.

You must have the same gut feeling that I do about an upset of Green Bay.
-
Yeah, that's the problem. Maybe UB will do us a favor and hire Hackett as their next head coach so we can bring in a real OC (wishful thinking).
-
Get him out there in the red zone at the very least. MAKE HIM a threat to respect down there. What's the sense in trading for someone to keep inactive? Let him contribute.
-
I don't know about you, but I still think they have a legitimate shot at going to New England at 9-6. They just have to win the games they're supposed to win (scary), and at least be competitive vs Denver (L) and Green Bay (I actually think they have a shot at an upset here). If they lose to Miami or Cleveland, they're done! It'll be another losing season. Any other BILLievers left among us??
-
I like that thought too. He'd be a great upgrade over Hackett.
-
Maybe he'll be the next head coach at UB.
-
Even in defeat, this is still a better team than what we've had in years. Yes, they still have to develop a killer instinct and win the games they're supposed to win (like this one), but they are still headed in the right direction. This is NOT a Super Bowl caliber yet, let's be realistic about that but there's still plenty to build on. They're still in the playoff hunt despite the fact that this loss didn't help. JUST BEAT MIAMI NOW!!!!

Goodwin = The Second Coming of TJ
BmarvB replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Goodwin is a better receiver than TJ, he just can't stay healthy enough to be a regular contributor. -
Yeah, you're right. Line never had depth like this before. Just imagine if we had the same on the O-line

I have to vent (Lots of anger in here)
BmarvB replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The running game was actually coming back to life - and then they abandoned it -
Here we go..... 1) Offense left too many points on the field! 2) Fumble by Brown was huge, costly, and a turning point in a game the Bills should have won. 3) McKelvin's fumble was fatal 4) They let the Chiefs hang around way too long. Killer instinct still missing. 5) Orton was off today. 6) When the running game finally started coming off life support, they pulled the plug on it. 7) Another good defensive performance wasted. Our front 4 are monsters. 8) Red zone offense su*ked and swallowed. 9) I actually thought that was Andy Reid in the stands for a moment ... lol 10) I still like our chances against Miami on Thursday.

He's on this list.... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000423361/article/saints-jairus-byrd-leads-list-of-top-10-freeagent-flops

Please tell me why Kyle Orton is not the long term answer ?
BmarvB replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Orton as the caretaker for the position until we can eventually develop our QB of the future. The team is mainly built to win NOW, and Orton is the right QB for right now. It's his position until (or IF) EJ is ready to take over. I don't see that happening anytime soon. -
Kansas City; What's going to happen?
BmarvB replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're going to need the running game more than ever now. Hackett also has to call something other than the usual runs up the middle behind those struggling guards. Mix it up more with off-tackle power runs, sweeps (including an occasional jet sweep), traps, counters, etc....
