  1. Spiller, Rivers, Pears. Hughes will be signed
  2. If your schedule is right. 11-5 or 10-6 looks good for a playoff birth.
  3. He was never really good at picking up blitzers, or holding them off when he does. Off to the Falcons with him.
  4. My sentiments exactly.
  5. This is the last one 1) Where the **** was this team last week? 2) Where was this O-Line for most of the season? 3) Wish Watkins would have got the 1000 4) Jackson still productive. Next year will most likely be his last though. 5) Defense held all 3 HOF QB's they faced this month without a TD 6) Did they really call a read option - with Orton for a QB??? 7) Sometimes it's ok to go for it on 4th and 1 (or less). 8) Orton can be effective when he's got good protection, but he's still not the answer at QB 9) Patriots have their QB of the future when Brady's done. 10) Say what you want about Marrone, but he's earned another year. We have our first winning season in a decade (so what if we beat a watered down Patriots team in Gillette Stadium to get it).
  6. The veteran experience to pass on to EJ is the only thing Orton has going for him now. I sure hope it helps EJ, and his accuracy improves. Either he takes over next year or not at all. We have a defense that built to win NOW. We need a QB that can produce NOW. Orton is a serviceable backup, mentor to EJ, and nothing more. He absolutely can not start next season. Whaley once said that the ideal backup is one that can win at least 50% of his games. That's Orton.... EJ was 2-2, Orton should be 6-6 after Sunday even though 7-5 would be nice.
  7. One round doesn't make or break an entire draft. Not every good starting QB was a first rounder, some were picked much later (you never know), and we can get a good guard or two in the lower rounds as well. So what if we don't have a #1, it's not the end of the world OR the draft. Let's wait and see who we get and what they do when they get here.
  8. Both should get another year. Move Brandon back to marketing where he belongs and put in a real football guy to replace him. Get another O-line coach & veteran OC
  9. No he didn't panic on the Watkins selection, it was a good pick. He whiffed on the lineman with the exception of Henderson, but overall the draft wasn't bad. I'm looking for him to come back with an even better draft and a good free agent pickup or two to upgrade the offense even more. He absolutely MUST do something about that line no matter who the QB is. So what if we don't have a first round pick, just hit on the picks that we do have!
  10. Just win the damn game!
  11. A new OC, OL coach, QB, Guards, and we should be good to go for 2015. Even if the QB isn't great, if we can be a top 10 running team to keep from having to over rely on the next QB (like the Jets did with Sanchez his first 2 years), we're playoff bound.
  12. I agree, he drove it this far, let him go ahead and crash it now.... Oh waitaminnit! He already did crash it. Make him tow away the wreckage on his way out.
  13. You do have a good point about Crossman. We wanted his head last year, but instead, Whaley got him what he needed to be successful, and the ST unit has really improved. Now if he can just do the same for Hackett if he returns next year (asking a LOT)...
  14. With the Right OC, Hell Yeah! If nothing else, we'll get some wins over the Patriots with him. His teams play the Pats tough as hell no matter how sorry they are.
  15. I would have to say the O-Line coach goes. The previous coaching staff (Chan's) got much more out of basically the same group up front (minus Henderson), or did one hell of a job of disguising just how bad they really are.
  16. So as it stands, Henderson (a rookie) is the only lineman who improved (outside of Mack eating his lunch & dinner in Oakland). The other O-linemen either regressed some, regressed a lot, or just plain suck.
  17. Improved?? How much time do you have to wait for me to think of somebody? Should I pull out the couch for you??
  18. You're actually right. They are headed in the right direction. They did good to stay in the playoff hunt as long as they did given the QB and O-Line situation. Year 3 is the big one for Marrone. If they make the playoffs, he's coach of the year. If they regress or finish at 8-8 or below, he's done here.
  19. Haven't seen any comments on Pat Morris yet. Why spare him from this? Should he stay or go? Granted he has limited talent to work with, but still......
  20. We already know he's staying. The question is, will Hackett be back for round 3.
  21. Don't do this to EJ now. NOT against the Pats. let him prepare for next season and re-emerge then instead of feeding him to the wolves now. It's too late for this. Let the Pats put Orton out of his misery and bury his azs on the couch once and for all.
  22. Bottom line is we need a veteran OC who knows WTH he's doing
  23. Yes, I remember very well. He's still a good center who would benefit by better guard play next to him.
