  1. Clean house. Out with the whole defensive staff
  2. That looks too much like right, and it makes too much sense.
  3. Normally, that would have been the correct decision. But his faith in the defense was very badly misplaced with the way they were missing tackles. If he had decided to go for it and they failed, he'd still be roasted for making a bad decision, but between the way the two units were playing, it was the offense who was more deserving of his faith.
  4. Couldn't ask for more from TT. He did his part. The defense didn't
  5. 1) This loss was absolutely on the defense! Couldn't ask for anything more from TT, Shady, Clay, Sammy. They did their parts. 2) One sided officiating. Several penalties by the Dolphins not called - especially a couple PI calls that should have been made against the Dolphins. 3) Horrid tackling. Whatever happened to 'wrap em up and bring em down"? At least Leger Douzable brought his 'A" game with him. What happened to our run defense? Pass rush?? Did that leave when Schwartz did? 4) Who's advising Rex on when to challenge, and when NOT TO? And he was just a little too slow on the trigger with a critical time out on Miami's game tying FG. 5) TT does have his moments when he's an efficient passer, just lacks consistency, but today he proved himself capable of bringing the team back from behind, making plays with his arm, completing passes down the middle, and holding his own in a shootout. Not enough for that big payday, but enough to earn the chance to compete for the job next season under a revised contract. 6) What a difference having a healthy Sammy makes, and it's even better now that they finally realized they can actually use Charles Clay to do what he was paid all that money to come here and do. Needed to drag that foot to get that 2nd TD though, but other than that, this was his best game as a Bill. 7) The reverse to Reggie Bush sucked. Nobody was fooled. It was obvious they were setting up to run that at some point in the game. The Dolphins were ready for it. 8) 2 misses by Carpenter (one in OT) fatal. GOODBYE!!! 9) The only problem I have with Rex's decision to punt on 4th down and short in OT was the fact that he was misplacing his trust in the defense to stop them. Granted many coaches would have done the same thing so I can't argue with the decision, but with the season on the line, he probably could have went balls out gone for it too. 10) Even if they would have won out and got help, this team DOES NOT belong in the playoffs yet. They're close but Rex has allowed his ego to ruin a championship level defense. Run defense is below par, too many missed tackles, it's not even close to good enough to support a championship quality running game. And his game management skills are still questionable. The Pegulas have some serious evaluating to do at the end of the season. The decision on Rex can go either way.
  6. I agree. Rex couldn't build on what we already had in place, and the defense suffered because of it. As for the QB, has his coaching staff ever developed a legitimate QB? Who's to say TT wouldn't be better under a different (or shall I say better) coaching staff that's more capable of developing QB's than Rex's group? There you have it
  7. Sometimes guys take the money and run to a situation they're just not a good fit for. He was so good here. They never know what they're going to walk into sometimes when they just go after the money.
  8. Oh yeah. I remember suffering through those guys
  9. The hatemongers are much more vocal. The logical thinkers are taking in to consideration that: 1) This was an injury depleted team at key positions. They did good just to make it to 7-7 and still in playoff contention even though they have a snowballs chance in a hot oven of making it. 9-7 is still possible. 2) The team has a very good chance of making the playoffs next year so why change coaches now? Give him the third year. 3) Rex never did have much to work with at the QB position with the Jets or here. That can be fixed in year 3 4) Sometimes a coaching change too soon isn't always a good thing 5) We have a very promising OC on the staff who deserves a chance to run HIS offense HIS way. He did a very admirable job working with Greg Roman's playbook for a guy not expecting to be replacing him in week 3. If they go 9-7, he'll be back for year 3 but he has to do much better with the defense. Either let Dennis Thurman run HIS defense HIS way or let him go (but DON'T make Rob the DC). It's his job to run the unit, let him do it all the way!
  10. The only meaningful stat is wins and losses. Right now that makes the Bills a .500 team.
  11. For any of this to become a possibility, the Bills have to do THEIR part first, and that's win the next 2 games.
  12. Close enough.... I actually like that thought. Pass the pipe over this way
  13. It wouldn't surprise me if he's retained for another year if we finish 9-7, but the stipulation has to be that he makes upgrades to the defensive coaching staff (letting Donnie Henderson go was a huge mistake), and either giving Thurman full control of the defense and letting him run it his way or letting him go and bringing in a veteran DC (unlikely with his ego). I would like to see Anthony Lynn stay and have an opportunity to implement his own offense as opposed to doing the best he could with Greg Roman's.
  14. Wade Phillips, Norv Turner, Josh McDaniels, Todd Haley, etc.... You got that right ... smdh
  15. Oh yeah, there's a definite leak within the organization that has to be plugged.
  16. Are the Bills defenders smart enough to run Rex defense, or is it a question of are the coaches smart enough to craft a system that maximizes the strengths of the players?
  17. I was as stunned by that as you were. When Shady came out for those 2 plays after taking them downfield himself, they were supposed to ram Gillislee down their throats. He would have scored from there.
