Anderson's real value to the team
BmarvB replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All Anderson has to do show Allen how to is be efficient at moving the offense down the field and not turn over the ball. Competence at the position will make a big difference Beane, McD, Allen, The Pegulas. They're all beginners learning as they go along. There's going to be some suffering as part of 'The process' -
What We Will Know by the Trade Deadline
BmarvB replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Winning 3 of the next 4 is not an unrealistic possibility. We have a better chance with a rusty vet than we do with pickoff Peterman. And as an extra bonus, Allen gets to step back and watch how an experienced pro handles things. The time off watching and learning should really help him -
For those still complaining about Star..

That's what they brought him here to do -
I'll settle for what's left of Tony Romo

How much blame does Daboll deserve?
BmarvB replied to RosenNOTchosen1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be fair to him. He has nothing to work with, and many of his position coaches are either out of position, or never played the game at the NFL level. On the other hand, a better OC would get the most out of what little he has to work with. -
Bills vs. Texans All-22 Coaches Film Reviews
BmarvB replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen is not ready to carry the offense. The offense has to carry him during the learning phase. Scary thought ain't it? -

What Does McBeane See In Peterman?
BmarvB replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm without a clue as to what they see in pick 6 Peterman, but that loss was clearly on both of them http://www.oleantimesherald.com/sports/pollock-this-buffalo-loss-rests-with-beane-and-mcdermott/article_27be431c-d032-11e8-b469-f3e393d6fbd4.html -
The Answer is Sitting in Tampa Bay

Been there, done that. If Allen goes down and he has to play, which fitz do we get? -
Joe B: Zay Jones is the Bills #1 WR at this point
BmarvB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zay now has a giftwrapped opportunity to take the #1 wr spot away from KB -
We can't get a amateur barber for him? He don't have to see the field either ?

A Few Thoughts about the Texans game, in no particular order
BmarvB replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Special teams were brutal today. Wasn't the WR coach a former RB with the Raiders? -
1) Shades of the Doug Marrone era. Another wasted defensive performance. That late goal line stand in the 4th was huge. How can you not feel bad for those guys. They deserve better. Multiple sacks and 3 turnovers? You're not supposed to lose the game when the defense delivers like that. 2)I hope Allen is going to be ok for next week, but he really needs to get better fast. He's really in over his head and not ready to be a starter yet despite his talents but this is the mess they created for themselves at the position. Now they have to live with it. He needs to be more of a QB and less of a tailback. Even though the runs help, that's not what he was drafted for. 3) The Peterman giveth, and then the Peterman gave it back big time. Would have loved to see him pull off the win, but now we can safely say the plug has been pulled on his NFL career. 4) Special teams were brutal and costly.Dropped punts, a blocked punt, and unnecessary penalties. Crossman is officially on the hot seat 5) And speaking of penalties, how many big plays were called back because of them? 6) Two things can happen when throwing to Benjamin, bad things, or not a thing. He's trade bait for sure. Zay Jones is slowly coming around. He needs to to TAKE that #1 WR spot from KB Ray Ray McCloud should see more time as a receiver, and no more time as a punt returner. He should still have chemistry with Allen. 7) Our LBs were a big question mark at the start of the season. Not any more! This is a much upgraded unit ? At this point, there's nothing to lose. Trade Peterman to anybody willing to give up a barber to cut Chris Ivory's hair, Sit KB down and give one of the younger WR'S a look. Give Allen a rest and let him watch and learn from watching the veteran for a week or two while he heals up. Put a couple hot coals under Daboll's seat to get some better game planning (and calling) out of him. Winning 3 of the next 4 games is not unrealistic. We have the defense for it, but the offense & special teams have to hold up their end of the deal. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7 trade targets for the Bills
BmarvB replied to RyanTalbotBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. Tate would be a welcome addition. -
For right now, from a passing standpoint, his accuracy needs a lot of work so he's going to have to nickle and dime defenses to death with quick short shots that he can hit easily just to keep the chains moving and the defense off the field.
-
He definitely has accuracy issues that can be fixed over time. until then, he needs to feed off the running game and take as many short shots as he can get away with
-
Even when the ground and pound attack is working, we still need WRs who can at least make the defense respect the threat of being burned deep. This group can't do that
-
Agreed. Allen would probably be more comfortable with that for now until the defenders start jumping those routes. Then he can burn them with deep shots down the field. I think Ray Ray should get more targets. Allen did appear to have more chemistry with him in preseason, and it's not like we're getting much from the guys ahead of him anyway so why not go to him more?

Priority: Develop Allen or Win Ugly?
BmarvB replied to Berky1010's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if it's ugly, a win is a win. We can get away with winning ugly and developing Allen at the same time. -
Call it prehistoric, outdated, or whatever. This is not a run and gun offense, we just don't have the guns for that yet. This is still a ground and pound offense and that's what works for them. We have Shady and now Chris Ivory who is a major upgrade over Mike Tolbert. This is the strength of the offense, and just what Allen needs to help in his development. He's nowhere near ready to carry the offense yet - and he really doesn't need to. The identity of the offense remains bang away with the running game, work the short passing game, and wear down the opponent's defense. That's what's going to work for them while Allen continues to learn and develop. Let's just hope his accuracy gets better over time

For those that say McDermott is a younger jauron
BmarvB replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. He's much more gutsy than Jauron. Sometimes he'll make a head scratching decision, but it'd usually not a gutless one
