Yeah but seriously, the entire top end of that organization needs to be replaced, including GM.  So these are moves in the right direction.

BTW:  Hue Jackson's favorite pastime was reminding people he is the head coach.  What is he going to do now!?  He'll never be HC in this league again.

He's like Wade Phillips and Norv Turner. Good Coordinators, not so good head coaches.

Well, this is why Cleveland will struggle for a long time.  Their owner refuses to let his coaches actually develop a team.  Now their rookie QB has to adjust to some interim HC/OC, and then to yet another one when the hire in the off-season.

It's the Cleveland thing to do ?

Good post and I wouldn't be surprised if that scenario played out.  Beane and McDermott have the right approach to building a winning franchise (full on rebuild with establishing a winning culture), but I question their ability to make the right decisions on the offensive side of the ball during the rebuild.  I'm not a fan of the Josh Allen pick, but am hoping I'm wrong.  However, you knew he was a project so you should've had a more stable veteran to start the year than Nathan Peterman.  You also hire an offensive coordinator with a putrid track record of success as an NFL offensive coordinator and expect him and a previous WR coach to develop Allen?

Here's what needs to happen this offseason if their offense continues to be this offensive:

-Fire Daboll.  Bring in somebody with more previous success who has been successful in working with young quarterbacks.

-Use most of your arsenal of draft picks on offense.  Obviously addressing o-line and WR.  For god sakes find somebody who can stretch the field.

-Go hard after the few available free agents on the market on the offensive side of the ball and be willing to overpay.

-Bring back the Amish Rifle as a mentor and quality backup.  Maybe even trade for him this season.  I still can't believe Fitz is only 35.  I feel like he backed up Brett Starr.  If not, find a veteran better than freakin' Derek Anderson.

Mike McCoy was recently let go in Arizona. He can probably build a better staff of qualified position coaches (minus the Carolina connections) than what we have here now

The offense needs speed receivers who can get open are badly needed

Good luck getting some of the better offensive FAs to come here

If Fitz is willing to come back as a backup only, sure why not.  Let's just hope he doesn't have to get back on the field. He's too streaky.

    1) Run the Ball. Yesterday the Bill's run game looked great. Let's keep it up. Must go heavy run. Regardless of score. Just stick with it. Ivory and Murphy looked great yesterday.

    Carries 22

    Yards 135

    Average 6.1

    2) Make a commitment to Peterman and give him only safe outlet throws with a few shots down the field. He gets rid of the ball quickly. Allen comes back when 100% healthy unless Peterman gets hot. You can't play a QB who wasn't even at camp. Anderson is here to teach. Not to play. And enough with losing locker room if Peterman plays. He didn't play yesterday and they were blown out by a 1-5 team.

    3) Lean on that Defense. Sure it gets exposed at times but it gets turnovers too.

    4) Special Teams must step it up.

If they do these 4 things they will be respectable and you never know if they get hot they might stay hot.

Lastly, trade McCoy and Benjamin if you can. Worst case the Bills don't get hot but they clear out a bunch of cap space.

The season is far from over.

You were doing fine until you said start Peterman. And BTW, the season may not be over, but it's definitely on life support with low battery power

No one in their right mind could put this on Anderson. It’s much more deeply rooted than that.

Yes. It's much more deeply rooted than that

Seems pretty clear to me that we won’t. Best case scenario for this team under McD is a dominant defense to carry a mediocre offense.

    We had that under Marrone

  6. There will be games where the defense will play lights out and keep the other team under 14 points, and there will be games where the defense can't stop a parked car at a red light. In either case, the offense has to put up points, and this offense can't do it no matter who is at QB. Can't put this loss on Anderson. He was pretty much coaxed off the couch and one step from retirement and asked to start with no training camp and very limited knowledge of the playbook. McD & Beane actually fooled themselves into thinking their plan will work with anybody on the roster. Now they're seeing just how wrong they really were about that. Oh well, let's see what they do in year 3 to upgrade the offense.

Hughes' obvious frustration is exhibit A of why Peterman can no longer take the field.  He's strictly break glass in case of emergency.  I hope they finally waive him after Allen returns to health.

Peterman is a very good preseason QB. Regular season??? That's when he turns into "pick me off" Peterman. Once Anderson gets settled in and Allen comes back, he's a done deal and he knows it

In 2015, we were 6th worse in 3 and out percentage.

In 2016, we were 2nd worst.

Cant find 2017 but we know we were bad.

In 2017, we were 30th in time of possession.

    In 2016, we were 25th.

2015, we were 8th.  That was good.

    Every year we regressed.

Every year Taylor regressed.  Look at how bad he was in Cleveland...regression continues.

Didn't take very long for him to stink the place up in that QB graveyard known as Cleveland
