Why are the odds of a breakout in his favor?
Has he improved on the slowest release in the NFL? Have his inaccuracies been fixed?
Barkley, of all people, played far better than anything Allen has showed, so far.
He has an easier schedule now than it was when he started
We'll find that out when he's back on the field
Yes, Barkley looked real goo but he's not the future for the bills. His performance gave Allen a lot to learn from. Let's just hope he did learn.

Rex mentioned the tear down which led to his terrible year there and his eventual firing. And he basically says the team still sucks. He is calling out MacCagnan and he has a point. They spent a bunch of money in the offseason and they still suck.
Ain't that the truth. But let's give him some credit. Their defense was better under Rex

Well, the table is set for him with the remaining schedule. The odds of a breakout are in his favor. It's up to him to make it happen.

I would love for this to happen . Nate is a good guy. I don’t think he gets signed this year, though I do see the Bills signing him to the PS once he cleans waivers
That's exactly what's going to happen. The Bills are going to get him back. He'll be on the PS

That's a shame. I liked Darby when he was here. One bad break after another. Hope he recovers in time for 2019 wherever he may end up

McD explained it clearly one time. He said Peterman performs well in practice and preseason.
But what a vote of no-confidence when the HC starts a career journeyman who's been on the team for 12 days over a guy who's been with the team for a year-and-a-half.
I'd advise Nate to enjoy the NFL while he can because I think he's going to be looking for a new line of work pretty quickly
He's an all pro in practice and preseason, but he doesn't belong on the field when the games are for real.

...and when we look back years from now we'll be scratching our heads all the more. To see what a journeyman QB who hasn't played in two years could come in and do with two weeks of practice was the final "it's not you, it's me" moment for these star-crossed lovers. I give McD credit for realizing he couldn't trot Nate out there again, and we saw the results.
The only question is whether Sean will break the news over dinner, or will he just send a text?
Just end it now and get it over with. 'Pick me off' Peterman is done here

If we beat Jacksonville, 8-8 is possible. We won't win in Foxboro.

Good Post
Agree, I really believe Bowles is on "thin ice" especially after todays game and a franchise QB that needs developing.
He should be getting canned as you're reading this...

He got away with a couple that should have been intercepted, but overall he looked good enough to be the backup going forward, and send the pick machine out the door

1) Welcome Aboard Matt Barkley. He made a very good first impression, and pretty much secured the backup QB position. When Allen is back, Anderson, "pick me off' Peterman, or both should be gone.
2) And speaking of gone, I'd be very surprised if Todd Bowles isn't canned Monday
3) This was s great confidence builder for the O-Line. They really came through for the offense today. Granted it was against the Jets but a good performance is still a good performance - especially with the new jacks getting some playing time. There's something to build on there
4) Give Daboll a game ball. Game plan and play calling was spot on. Attacking deep opened up things for the running game perfectly.
5) Hope Milano gets through the CP. The bye week will give him extra time to recover. He's having a breakout season
6) The new return man also made a good first impression. Looks like he could break one at any time.
7) Foster deserves more time on the field while KB could use some time on the bench. Foster accomplished more in this game alone than Benjamin has for most of the season.
8 ) Defense did what they were supposed to do against an offense they were expected to dominate - Nuff Said.
9. Obviously running the table to 9-7 is unrealistic with a trip to Foxboro still on the slate, but if we can get past a Struggling Jacksonville team, 8-8 is still a longshot possibility.
GO BILLS!!!!!

Finally occurred to him Pickoff Machine Peterman sucks and he can't dare put him back on the field again?

Thanks! During a 5 second play with all the commotion conversation would be useless. However, if you* could hack the frequency and yell out a simple receiver number 1,2 or 3.....it would be plausible to inform the QB* to let it rip to the open receiver. I wouldn't be surprised if a team* has tried this. It would turn their QB into the GOAT!*
Maybe the Patriots already have?

I thought Lewis was fairly solid and should be on the field more. With Ganes out of the picture, we should see more of him going forward This move could turn out to be an upgrade if he keeps up his play.

I don't understand how a HC can survive presiding over the worst offense in NFL history.
Consider a HC who went 1-31 over a 2 year period and still got a third year

anyone know how he did? I didn't notice him in the game.
That's a good sign right there?

For starters......
1) Fire up the grill under Daboll's seat
2) Replace some of the position coaches (QB, WR, OL)
3) Rebuild the O-line
4) Upgrade the WR position
5) Bring in a more serviceable veteran backup QB.

Neither one can put points on the board, so what difference does it make?
-
Most teams already have a guy who sucks. Why take on somebody else's bust when you already have one of your own on the roster?
-
Defense wasn't too bad. Logan Thomas had a decent game Haushka made his kicks. Peterman scored our first TD in 3 games
-
Some position coaches have to go. If they're still this bad in year 3, time to line up the coaching staff for the chopping block

Watched AJ a bit last night with raiders and he looked like he did with the bills held the ball too long and took sacks
He's fitting right it with the Raiders plan to secure the #1 pick. Bench Carr and make McCarron the starter for the rest of the season. If you're gonna tank, go all the way with it!!!

Let's hope these young WR's develop into reliable targets. If that happens, we're free to upgrade the right side of the OL. Would still like to see a coaching upgrade at the OL and QB positions. With this defense, 20+ points a game will make the Bills a serious contender in 19.
