  1. Something tells me that come December we are going to be saying "If we had just won that damn Pittsburgh game............"
  2. There is always some botard 20 something superfan wannabe who thinks it is more important and way cooler for his voice to be heard screaming while the Bills are on offense. "Look at me" syndrome is very strong for some. Like the midget who dresses up like a Leprechaun at the Notre Dame games. 😆 Fans should chuck him around the stands like a beach ball.🤪
  3. He did have a little smirk on his face right after he said it like "oh *****....did I just say that?"
  4. In his interview today, when asked about the upcoming game this week McDermott said he doesn't know anything about the Dolphins yet and hasn't looked into it.
  5. To the ST credit though, they did start the game by executing a kickoff return deep into the opponents territory. And from that red zone start the offense screwed the pooch and had to settle for 3. 4 trips to red zone I think? only 1 TD. No bueno.
  6. Gruden takes full credit for ass kissing his way to stardom in the NFL.
  7. Seemed to me in that game that having more than 3 receivers out there for Allen was kind of a waste anyway. If he isn't going to throw the ball to the checkdown guy(s), then why even have those guys out there running routes? May as well have extra blockers to give time for the deep routes to develop. If the Bills are going to continue to flood the field with that many receivers, then Allen has to have the maturity to throw to the guys who are going to be open with regularity there, the ckeckdown short route runner. It would also help if we had short route runners that were exceptional at the run after catch. All those years of watching the Patriots throw 4 yard passes that some midget receiver would turn into 10-12 yard gains comes to mind. A Tyreek Hill would be nice.
  8. Seems the logical thing to do is to bring in more personnel to block. Keep a back in the backfield instead of out wide. Put a tight end in who chips the defensive end before running his passing route. Shovel passes just beyond the penetrating defenders. Half back draw plays. Good coaches have been defeating superior pass rushes for years. I recall a few years back when the Bills had a top defense, that top defense was soundly defeated by Philip Rivers and Tom Brady getting the ball out so fast it essentially negated any type of pass rush the superior BIlls defense could muster. Yesterday our QB was holding the football for how many seconds waiting for plays to develop? All game just about? I still like the coaches we have - especially McDermott. I think there is still a lot of room for improvement from them that would greatly improve this team. I think they were under-prepared for the difficulties the Steelers presented in this game. The coaches didn't have the answers they needed and it showed in the second half. And if they were as prepared as they could be for this game, then it shows that the Steelers' coach(es) who prepared for Buffalo were/are better at their job - at least for this game they were.
  9. I agree that the o-line was playing worse than Daboll was coaching poorly. However, if the o-line is grossly underperforming, whose job is it to correct that? Are you just supposed to "hope" they magically start playing better? Or is it the coaches' (Daboll/McDermott) jobs to get personally involved in the situation and implement some kind of adjustment to rectify the situation. I felt like the coaches just waited for Allen to pull some magic out of his ass. Seems like the second half showed you clearly who the better coaching staff was this Sunday. Steelers (with rusty hobble-on-one-leg Roethlisberger) got better in an away game that they were already losing by 10 at half time. Bills got worse even with home field advantage in a game they were already winning in a minor shutout at that point. Half time adjustments in close games are when you see who the better coaching staff is. And it is also where coaches have a great opportunity to be a difference maker for their team. McDermott and Daboll should take ownership of that misfire on their part. And I expect them to.
  10. I thought the Bills defense played respectably for the most part. There is still a lot of room for improvement. I think Big Ben is very nearly done in the NFL and will put up a couple real “stinker” games this year. Allen left 14 points on the field because he badly missed 2 deep throws. You have to execute better when the opponent gives you gift opportunities to make game winning plays. The Steelers presented the Bills with opportunities to win the game. Bills didn’t execute. Allen never got into his “zone” or “flow state” that he did so well last year when he picked apart defenses remarkably well. I credit the Steelers coaching and defensive playing for not allowing him to get comfortable. Steelers made Allen indecisive at times and also pressured him to make bad decisions at times. 4th and 8 pass to Davis into double coverage? Really questionable coaching /play calling/decisions made on 4th downs. Daboll/McDermott did not adjust well in the second half to the Steeler’s d-line penetration. – Should have had some kind of answer for it. Maybe that means changing to 3 receiver sets and bringing in extra blockers. Maybe try running the ball more often? Maybe they could have tried exploiting the deep penetration by getting the ball to Singletary or the tight end in the holes created by that deep penetration? Some fast completions may have done wonders for slowing down the Steeler’s pass rush and getting Josh Allen into his groove. Also may have lessened the pressure on the OL and perhaps prevented some of the “holding out of sheer despair” that Dawkins was doing. I would like to see more draw plays, shovel passes and tight end/half back screen passes if a future opponent gets that kind of dominant penetration. Flea flickers might actually work if you have an established running game that the defense has to respect. I felt like the Bills offensive line got away with more holds in the first half than they even got penalized for. Need to rewatch the game to see for sure. But I’m pretty sure. In order to beat decent teams in the NFL you have to play decent on offense, defense AND special teams. One gaff on special teams can be a game killer in a close game; as we just witnessed. I expect a big step forward into week 2. I think the offense clicks much better and Allen finds his groove.
  11. Bro.. You are mistaken. He specifically mentioned relocating her from Dunkirk to elsewhere.
  12. Huh? Williamsville is too far from what? Downtown Buffalo? Stadium? It's not far (time wise) from either. Sorry to hear about your mom. It sucks watching your parent deteriorate. Went through it with multiple family members including my father (Alzheimers). Depending on the severity of the situation it can be extremely sad and extremely stressful. A friend had a father become physically combative because he didn't know who the hell the other people were in his house (all immediate family) and would want to fist fight them. And he was a tough old bastard. Hopefully your mom's situation will be on the milder side. Property...... Personally I would avoid the entire city of Buffalo. There are some decent neighborhoods but you would need to be selective. Much of the city itself is a giant shithole. It is not for me, but different strokes for different folks. Best suburb really depends on how big of a lot you want your house to be on and what your budget is. Maybe check Zillow or a MLS for places around West Seneca. There are many good neighborhoods in Cheektowaga as long as you stay the other side of Harlem Road. Going the other side of Union Road is even better. A better bang for the buck would be somewhere like Depew & possibly Lancaster. There are also a number of really nice small towns and slightly rural areas that aren't that far (in my opinion) from the city. Your commute times to downtown wouldn't be that bad as long as you live reasonably close to an expressway entrance. (I-90, 290, 219, 400) A lot of those slightly rural areas are expensive though if you are within a reasonable commute time to downtown Buffalo. I guess it depends on what you consider to be a reasonable commute time. If you consider up to 40 minutes a reasonable commute time, then you have a whole bunch of options. If you want your commute to be 20 minutes then you are limited to suburbs butting directly up against the city.
  13. September 30, 1990 - Bills Score 20 Points In 77 Seconds Yeah, I'm going with that team being the better one. Give the current Bills team a Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas and I probably change my mind. I think Bruce Smith alone would single-handedly disrupt the excellent passing offense the Bills currently have. And Josh Allen would not be outrunning him or juking him. Thankfully, no teams the Bills have to face actually have a Bruce Smith (in his prime) caliber defensive end.
  14. I don't think Hughes isn't going to see as much playing time this year. In fact, I think there is a good chance he is traded from the team before the regular season starts. His play has declined substantially in my opinion and he just isn't a difference maker any more. Seems reasonable to rotate the young guys in for Jerry's position until someone really stands out as the clear outperformer. I voted Addison for practical reasons. Though I am hoping it is one of the young guys who has a breakout season.
  15. I'm looking forward to seeing this guy routinely swat the ball out of the quarterbacks' hands. Excited to watchin him and see what he can do against NFL talent.
  16. Yeah Wallace gets burned more than any of the starters in the secondary. I just remember how truly bad that position got when he was out with injury. When he came back from injury it was an instant massive upgrade there. That is what made me think he is probably not as bad as I thought he was prior to that. Get that defense a pass rush though and the number of times any defender gets smoked will decrease substantially. Continue with the Bills non-existent passrush and whoever the weakest link is in that secondary (whether named Wallace or not) is going to get smoked a lot. Right now that guy is Wallace because he is the weakest starter. Wallace is still miles above the guys under him like Norman, Neal and Lewis in my opinion.
  17. Wallace is the weakest link in an excellent secondary in my opinion. But, I think the guy would get a lot of picks (maybe even lead the team in picks) if this defense had any pass rush at all. I say that because of how often he gets targeted. He's not a better player than the other guys, thus he gets picked on more. Get a pass rush out there and he gets more ducks and inaccurate balls thrown his way. So defense I collectively vote (Hughes, Butler, Addison, Oliver). If those same four were to start this year, my guess is Hughes would actually end up being the weakest link. His play is rapidly declining. Offense - I agree Knox. I say that because of his inconsistency - drops too many catchable balls. If he had better hands he would be a star on this team. Offensive runner up = Mitch Morse
  18. I thought Christian Wade was already expected to upgrade the RB position this year? He's already on the team.
  19. I get your point, but the county owns the stadium. So it is the county's call to make regarding whether or not you are allowed to enter and under what conditions.
  20. Bills should just make it a policy now that fans will be required to provide proof of vaccination in order to attend a game. Let the season ticket holders provide proof now well before the season starts. Let season ticket holders who do not intend to get vaccinated the option to release their seats for the year similar to last year. If they opt out, they opt out for the entire season including playoffs. Bills should also make it policy that all staff (at every level) working at the stadium provide proof of vaccination as part of the hiring process. Under those conditions fans, players and employees can attend the games with the least amount of concern regarding (pandemic related) health. It minimizes the risk for everyone involved. Seems like a no brainer to me.
  21. Totally agree. It doesn't seem to me that this staff has done very well at identifying talent on the d-line. Jerry Hughes is done as a consistent playmaker. This bunch is a bunch of average NFL players including Oliver - no difference makers there. I think back to the Superbowl years for Buffalo and wonder how much better this season looks with a guy like HOF Bruce Smith playing in his prime. Now, I know that it is unrealistic to expect the staff to find another Bruce Smith, but I think this team would be substantially upgraded with talent similar to Phil Hanson, Ted Washington, Pat Williams, Sam Adams, Dareus, Kyle Williams, etc who are playing in their prime years.
  22. Wouldn't you just rather play their best and beat their best? If you're not the best team so be it. Bring on the best there is and go beat them. Then you can hold your head high and know you deserve it.
  23. Personally, I thought the fans at Saturday's game could have used a little more cowbell.
  24. If Daboll goes he goes. Hopefully he doesn't take Ken Dorsey with him. That would be very unfortunate.
