Watkins' post-practice hot takes
Agent 91 replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is not real lol He didnt really do much with ej did he? I thought we were seeing 3 or 4 targets... although... that ball ej threw to sammy in that dolphins game, the one grimes broke up was probably one of the most beautiful passes sammy will see First of all... 20 posts. Welcome Jobot. Now on to the meat. Absolutely no way. We have to win now... this team isnt good enough to mail it in. Tyrod. I think we could do without him. And I think we need McCoy even though he isnt playing. I think Williams was a by product of spelling McCoy. So i think McCoy and Boom would work. Obviously McCoy is out but We miss his versatility... and we havent even seen it yet Its all about the mentality. McCown would never EVER put up 400+ in buffalo. Hopefully Rex shifts the paradigm. And hopefully the check down short throws were just tyrod. But that remains to be seen. Literally... WHO THE FREAK IS STARTING FOR HOUSTON NOW -
Thoughts on the idea of McKelvin to Safety?
Agent 91 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know that switch is way more seamless than the inverse. Corners already possess the skills necessary to play safety. Its just a bulk thing. Byrd was a poorer safety at Oregon. But when he played safety with everything in front of him he was much better. Aaron williams another example. Cory Graham was moved. But he was versatile and it beat starting Duke Williams A year ago I would have wanted to move Gilmore to safety -

I did... how fast this board would pull out the stake and rope if he doesnt lick his fingers before the first snap. As bad as i hate to admit it... I dont think there is ANYTHING that kid can do to not get crucified -

I didnt say he was. Although I'm not sure he isnt Jamarcus. I was merely stating that the person i was responding to basically described Jamarcus.now tell me how I'm wrong. -
For a small guy who "can't play the ball in the air" "cant defend bigger receivers" he is proving everyone... INCLUDING ME wrong. It seems to me he is the shut down of the two in terms pf who it seems was targeted the most. Seems like they test Gilmore more than Darby now.

If it were the Pats i couldnt say much. But the bengals with Dalton. I feel so so about. Hope Sammy and atleast Williams are back. I think Gilmore stands a better chance against Green without the club. I think the key is stymying the Bernard run. If they can do that and play something that resembles 4 qts of offense. We should be fine Travis Henrys in a jail cell somewhere laughing at him -

First point. Wood was up and coming last year. Anything but disappointing. And just insert name for the bills rookie wr... you dont use him right. You will get the same result. -

I can go with you on your vision... but not on the whole bust v non bust convo. Someone who a team invests in like that should have megatron capabilities. And in the words of my buddy, Buddy, be open when he isnt open. You have to make things happen despite being the focal point of the defensive game plan. All the injury talk is annoying. Its always something with him. But in the right situation Sammy is a 1500 yd caliber reciever... but as i have said to a friend earlier. The coach has no idea what he built. This is NOT and i repeat NOT a power run team. Just because you have a fullback and 8 rbs. This is a west coast talent. Small line save for the tackles who can move. And we have McCoy Harvin Clay and Watkins who are YAC yard mavens. Watch highlights of any of them. And you will see that they work great with the ball in their hands. Slants Drags Comebacks and Flats are the key to the success of this team. Quick hitters are what would do it for us. -
OL is still a mess....glad we won
Agent 91 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Little facetious arent we. BUT seriously. I think they need a non suspended coach and more than this little bit of time... Every and I mean EVERY line sucks until it gels. Henderson and Wood are flat out not cutting it. Henderson i might give a little more rope seeing as he shouldnt be a starter yet. But wood? He has to go I am of that same line of thought. I think he is going to get the money somewhere. But LT he is not. I was one of those guys who thought the bills were too cute drafting him to play tackle when he was a guard. Im not sure how wrong I was about him at LT but i dont think there is any egg on my face -

Every other spot. LT C and RT need to be blown up. I dont put stock in Glenn being here passed this year. But if he is... he either has to replace Cog or Miller at guard... which im not a fan of. Or move to RT. The Glenn experiment is over -
I think it actually helps Gilmore. He isnt an in the pocket CB and gets beat by double moves routinely. BUT lining up "off" give him more time to diagnose the route. It used to drive me batty. But after thinking about it and watching... I think its smart. You win some you lose some but you definitely limit the big plays where you get beat deep. If we miss the playoffs by one game... do we have a replacement for the Music city Miracle? The famous Jennings toe tap?

Fred Jackson: My Toughest Road Trip
Agent 91 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only issue with your post. Its not the same... its a business. Going in to the league you are evaluated consistently and the risk of being replaced comes around daily. Pro sports is nothing like your run of the mill 9-5. The same reason they run to the teams who pay the most is the same reason teams are so quick to move on from current players. What is the expected work life in corporate America vs the average career of a pro athlete. They KNOW they beat the odds if they make it to a second contract, let alone 9 yrs... HE IS IN HIS 9-10 SEASON AS AN UNDRAFTED PLAYER. Its not that hard to not mourn for a guy who fulfilled his dream. A guy who got calls hrs after his release. Also.... i feel nothing for this point because as players, they know at any given moment. They can be traded, cut, uprooted. Kids are forced to change schools. Its a part of the game. They accept that when they sign on to play. ANY SPORT. Heck some " regular jobs" are the same.
