There is a fairly large subset of posters on here who would get the first hummer from their wife in years only to complain that dinner wasn’t also ready immediately afterwards 🤨 We needed a CB. We wanted other things but we NEEDED a CB. Beane saw the way his board was falling and made a decision. “ They didn’t need to trade up” etc etc ….. every other post. piss, moan, whine….. The sky is falling!!! It looks like we got a great pick. Take a freaking breath and be happy. Trust Beane. We can get the fourth back if we need to. There are teams ahead of us who picked bums who are going to flame out miserably, in the first round! A fourth isn’t the end of the world.

I fully expected, before the draft, that Beane was going to move as he saw necessary. The moves are going to happen in a certain order. Middle picks to move up in higher rounds, lower picks to move up in middle rounds. If there is someone in the fourth that is just a glaring value on Beane’s board I have no doubt he will go get him.

In the last 10 years the Bills have taken 5 players in the fourth round. Often, we have traded this pick in the past. Gabriel Davis looks like a stud Taron Johnson has been useful Cardale Jones??? Ross Cockrell has a career bouncing around the league….meh. DUKE WILLIAMS STONE COLD HALL OF FAME LOCK…. According to the accolades he garners from some on here. Apparently, half the posters on here know MORE than Beane and our future has just been destroyed by him working his intel and trading this years 4th. Me, I’m going to trust him and our scouting department. Crazy talk I’m sure.

Make the pick at 25 is my guess. But if they trade, I wouldn’t guess it would be back but forward as we are in “ Win now” mode. It makes no sense to use all our picks if we don’t have realistic expectations of keeping them. I do like the idea of taking the punter in the 6 th round of he’s there, otherwise your drafting camp bodies or practice squad guys who might get poached.

Before last season, I bagged on EO and didn’t want this. I’m throwing my Mea Culpa out now and saying This is the correct move. He is poised to possibly have a crazy good season in the interior. That Contract year motivation doesn’t hurt.

Local perception: Tepper has come in here and not garnered much good will. The team is starting to look like Cleveland South to locals with the way it’s being coached and run. Tepper refuses to speak publicly on the state of the Panthers. If you think using public tax money to pay for a stadium is controversial in WNY you should hear what locals (Govt. Hating, Don’t tread on me Rednecks) think about passing bonds to help the richest owner in the league build a headquarters for a team that doesn’t play in their state.

Big topic on local radio today. Not sure how screwing over Rock Hill serves his purpose. I can’t imagine this will make Charlotte want to pledge any money to building a facility here.

Last year’s squad, coaches and Josh took basically the WHOLE season to finally hit their stride. We have a lot of roster turnover and some coaching changes at one of the most important positions. I have no earthly idea what this team is going to look like this year. Last year, when we completely crapped the bed during some games I will do as I did then: Remind myself it is a marathon not a sprint and the season is only a play in to the postseason which is a new season with unlimited possibilities……. If the effing coaches don’t blow it👿

I would say that they are just making do while they find a QB. That is born out of necessity and not Contrarian strategy. Indy had their guy and he quit right as they were surrounding him with talent. They have been trying to find their guy since ( and May have with Ryan in the short term) Pittsburg should have cut Cheeseburger a few years ago but it is hard for that team to Embrace sucking.

When you play poker, do you hold onto mediocre cards if you know the other guy has good ones, hoping he doesn’t know how to use his better cards to his advantage? It might work once in a while but it is a low percentage strategy. The NFL is set up as a passing league. Teams that make it their long term strategy to buck that trend are delusional.

I also live in Clt, moved here in 98 right when the Panthers started playing in the stadium here. I know multiple PSL holders. You have to renew your seasons every year or the PSL is lost. Also, the best time to sell is also the best time to watch . PSL values are analogous to housing values in as much as they are defined by the market conditions. You can sell when your team sucks but you won’t get that much for them. I don’t know a single “ Die Hard” Panther’s fan. All the people I know who have PSLs sell most of their tickets during the season. My guess is the price of tickets is about to go through the roof. Joe Six pack is pretty much priced out of the lower bowl and much of the upper bowl here.

I was a Josh Billiever by the second half of his first season. However, there were plenty on here who weren’t. Even well into season two this was the case. After the Cowboys Thanksgiving game I called him a Franchise QB. I got some grief for that( as well as some agreement) That was the game when it was apparent that he could process and distribute the ball quickly. It also showed he could do it on the National stage with the whole n country watching. So, NFL media types can be lazy with their takes but this board itself can also be a Doosey.
