Mini rebuild. Why is anyone that surprised?
Buffalo Boy replied to Blackbeard's topic in The Stadium Wall
don’t disagree with the premise. But, I have zero belief if it’s McD in a big game. And, he hasn’t even made it into a SB. I shudder to think what he might do in one of those. -

What sucks the soul out of some of us is it’s Terrible coaching decisions that are causing these losses. Trick play, Three passes out of the EZ. These are egregiously bad. Add to that 3rd and forever conversions. And, not just this year but as a matter of coarse through his whole tenure here. When the coaches ( leaders) are that football 101 inept how can you expect the players to grow ? You think they don’t know stupid decisions when they see them? -

9-8 and no playoffs. That was my pick. I was really stunned by all the 11,12 and 13 win predictions!!! Kinda had me doubting myself…..almost. -

It look like a team that lost a bunch of vet leadership and replaced it with JAGs…… which is exactly what it is. You realize drafting new wideouts next year mean two to three years before they are solid contributors? IF they pick anyone worth having. -
Do you approve of the job Brandon Beane is doing?
Buffalo Boy replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane and McD You can’t talk about one without the other. They are a team. We can argue and opine who has more say but they seem to make these decisions together as a duo with an agreed upon plan/MO in mind. It isn’t working. They have had a seven year shot at it and have not gotten it done and are now rebuilding on the fly. I don’t want them to get a second chance at it. IF Beane stayed on and we brought in Belichick , I’d be down for that. It would constitute a change in plan and values that might free Beane up to take “ character risk” high ceiling guys. This “ Process “ crap is sickening. I don’t want to go to battle with nice guys and I don’t need a team full of choir boys any longer . Say what you want about Diggs ( he was a weenie!!!), he very well maybe saw the lack of opportunity to win it all here and bailed while he still had a shot at a ring. I have zero faith in McD getting it done. As long as he’s here, Beane has no chance either. I’d rather see them both go than the status quo. -

Josh running around, extending plays is what keeps Josh upright. What very good O lineman has he drafted? Torrence and Teller are his best imo “. Why haven’t they used a first on an O lineman? -

So what is the answer??? Teach your great coach how to make simple clock management decisions? -
Who is more at fault? Beane or McDermott?
Buffalo Boy replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is his first GM gig. He and McD worked together for the Panthers McD got the job first ( Jan) and it seems brought Beane in afterwards(May). McD sure seems to have his fingerprints all over the players drafted. -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.

Uhhh, we aren’t going to a SB this year. I had us at 9 wins, no playoffs. Feelin sad but comfortable with that prediction -

Well yeah, and a bunch of us are arguing that he isn’t getting as high a reward, especially in the early rounds. -

Correct. Beane came here in May, after the 2017 draft. -

The Shakir hate was Strong on here before last season, now people think he’s the bomb. I agree on Bernard too, Brown is another story. He’s in JAG territory for me but he’s high motor and shows up and has a nasty side to him. I thing resigning him was a 50/50 imo. I can see both sides of it. -

Admittedly, they seem to definitely have an eye for DBs and LBs that used to be called “ Tweeners” due to their lack of size but good skills otherwise. It isn’t enough. On D you have to have a good front four. Oliver and Rousseau are their best picks but neither are game changers on a consistent basis. -

This is a legit concern of mine! And, that said defensive players will be high character process guys who aren’t difference makers. -

I would argue that the high draft picks ( rounds 1,2) have been feast or famine. The Josh pick was a gamble , imo, and I am forever thankful for it but It has bought him as much leeway as it will. 👍Kincaid, Torrence, Cook 🫳🏻Rousseau, Oliver 👎Edmunds, Ford, Epenesa, Basham, Elam Not including this year( too early) but if I did Coleman/Big No, Bishop/ Yes what I don’t know is how much did McD have to do with these early picks. Third rounders have seen a lot of time but none were/are amaziNg. Fourth and on some good hay was made. Maybe because Beane had more say, I don’t know. What I do know is Polian( the standard for me of Bill’s GMs.) crushed it with future HOFers as well as crazy good contributors. Apples to Oranges probably but Beane has Josh as the only Gold Star draft pick. Seven years and not one Crazy good, game changing pick??? Some of that could be due to misuse ( Kincaid, Rookie Cook) -
While you are all tripping over yourselves starting Fire McD threads , it ain’t happening any time soon. As previously stated, I would have last January. He blew our best chance with 13 seconds, (they) doubled down on trying to ride out that aging squad and now we are in a rebuild. A bunch didn’t want to hear it but it is where we are. This roster is not good and is also not being correctly used. Assuming, they are both still here and allowed to use the veritable bounty of pics next year to rebuild this roster, do you trust them? I don’t. I don’t trust them to pick the right wideout(s). Wasn’t a Coleman fan and not really of any of their WR draft picks. Diggs, Beasely and Brown were the best group IMO and none of them were our draft picks. I don’t have a problem with FA or trades in WR acquisition but they haven’t been doing well in that regard lately, both in who and how they are used. I don’t trust them to pick the right D linemen. I also don’t trust them not to prioritize D line over other needs and then get it wrong again. I don’t trust them to get a linebacker big enough to do the job AND stay healthy. Their O line picking is kinda middle of the road. Morris, McGovern, Teller ( good pick, bad decision to let him go) and Torrence were good acquisitions. Im not a Brown fan and O line has never been very good. They seem amazing at DBs and small LBs but it’s not enough. Finally, regarding picking WRs next year. If we do, standard thought is it will be 2027 before any of those picks might be ready. That is too long to give these two as Josh’s prime is ticking away.

Buffalo Boy replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe that Beane has the job because of McD. I’ve always believed the final decision on high draft picks McD. I think Beane has a bunch of culpability as well. -
How did you feel when Josh set up in the shotgun?

10/6/2024 - Bills at Texans post game thread.
Buffalo Boy replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Told ya so. McD is an idiot. His scheme consistently allows 3rd and extremely long conversions. Three passes out of the EZ at the end of the game?!?! Run the ball, kill the clock , play field position and OT. I repeat. McD is an idiot and the “ talent” around Josh is CRIMINAL.
