Everyone loves the backup. He has potential where as Yates is a known commodity. It's important to remember there is no game planning going into these early games. Coach calls a play, you try to do it. Coaches choice may have more to do with a different positions evaluation i.e. O' Leary getting blown up in short yardage and some blaming the back.

I would be mortified if we went 7-9 this year. I had us at 6-10 before these trades and I feel we are about the same. Rex destroyed a top tier defense. Last years running game was good but how far did it get us? Are you one of those guys who accuse others of wanting TT to fail to be right? Because we moved on a Prima Donna , got something for him, and it remains to be seen if he EVER achieves his " potential". Something you take as a given.

You really can't tell anything from any pre season game, much less the first , against soon to be grocery baggers. Having said that, he seems to have a competency that even TT sometimes doesn't have. How many plays did he take into this game under his belt? A limited play selection is easier to comprehend. I'm hoping he gets a chance to run with the twos this week. Some are saying he's a career back up. So was Reich and many others who still proved invaluable when the time came. Some cats thrive in the number two roll and are happy to do the work without taking the beating. If we are building a long term contender from scratch , the backup QB is a huge piece of the puzzle. I agree wholeheartedly that Peterman, most likely, is the only one of these three left in one year.

Gettlemen got fired because he was nasty to all the players he cut and made it personal.Josh Norman was prepared to sign the Panthers offer and Gettlemen yanked it( out of spite) Norman originally thought his agent screwed up.

The Charlotte fans here were PISSED they let Beane go and the cut Gettlemen. Owner Richardson is a weird old man like R. Wilson was. Beane would be the Panthers GM if McD hadn't snatched him away. The interesting question is , If it were Beanes choice to stay in an entrenched situation( Carolina) or get a chance to build your own Frankenstein, which would he choose? There is greater glory to be had here if he succeeds.
