As a guy who doesn’t watch college ball, it was nice to see him throw with some nice touch on the TDs and on one of those short crossers. He hit a couple semi faded to the sideline and I immediately thought of EJ in some game where EJ was chucking them way out of bounds( kinda like TT?)

Losman = Broken Leg as a rookie EJ = Sprained Knee as a rookie I want the third time to be a charm. If he does play, it’s in spot duty with the goal to be throw it away, slide or get out of bounds and don’t be a hero. Only catastrophic injury

That’s my point, IMO he isn’t close and won’t be able to bridge the gap to even be a legitimate 2 by Sept. Certainly not without a real QB coach. Uhhh, have you guys seen our O Line?

If Daboll is indeed going to run a quick hitting, NE style offense then Allen won’t win the starting job early. Between footwork/ accuracy, throwing with touch, learning a different trajectory than slinging it on a line and general “ Reading an NFL D” skills ; Allen’s learning g curve is steep. Maybe he starts the season listed as a 2 but I bet in a snap they put Peterman in before him.

Between Samuel, Moore, Funchise, McCaffrey and Olson, Cam has the best set of receivers , by a wide margin, he has ever had with the Panthers.

It’s like “ Healthy Fast food” . You can eat it and not be sick to your stomach. A tough trick to pull off with a fried chicken sandwich. But, I agree, it isn’t the Be all End all.

Not possible ..... but if he did, yes, it would be good enough. Between Chudzinski and Shula with Conservative Rivera over the top and a lack of high level Offensive player to support him Cam has knocked it out of the Ball Park often. This year , Cam has his Best supporting cast .

I would wait to see who gets cut later from other teams and see if I couldn’t get some Veteran help at a reasonable price. I only know four of those names.....scary.

AJ CAN’T be worse than TT. I hope we cobble together a middling O -Line and possibly get some RB help for Shady. Clearly they are focusing on D to start so ball control, quick hitters in the passing game and shorten the clock. AJ should be fine in that scenario. We didn’t need TT to win games for us so we shouldn’t expect AJ to either. IF he shows something, bonus!

At close to 40 years supporting this team , I’m doing my job on calling BS on a reach at QB. The sad truth is we are pretty much where we always are: Unproven Coach/ GM making questionable decisions for a roster that is in Bad shape. I really hope Allen turns out and a bunch of us have to eat crow. But, pointing out the Allen Pick looks bad is the same as doing it with EJ or JP. As much as we all like to mock the Browns, we are in their league and have been for a while when it comes to QB talent acquisition. Im sure there are threads that say we should have stayed at 12 and I’d have to agree with them. I would truly rather have Rudolph at 22( or trade down for him) and a bunch of second and third round picks to fill out a sparse roster than our current predicament. SAME OLD Bills?

What great coach will be doing this “ Great coaching”?

Thought the same thing , as well asCam. In my mind kind of a cross between the two. BR was not as good as Cam as a Rookie.

What scares me is an O coordinator who has done what??? If we are going to coach this kid up we need someone who has at least done it before......
