I don’t have a dog in the fight. I don’t have a vote for the HOF selection either. I never said he wasn’t a good coach. But, someone’s other than me decided he wasn’t elite. And I fully agree that Great QBs afford good coaches the opportunity to be great. Which is exactly why McD needs to win at least one SB to attain that status. It should NEVER have gotten to OT. That falls squarely on McD

But he didn’t win. Neither has McD ( so far) And there is no “maybe” attached to a couple of McD’s rosters being good enough to win a SB.

He’s a running back. There’s a scrum. It’s a clean football play. Running backs are hit like that constantly.

This is an easy No and No. Recency Bias on display, which I fully admit I’m prone to falling for. It’s like having a girlfriend/boyfriend when you are young, that you start out crazy in love with but the you grow. You see the things that aren’t right but you still have those heart strings tugging at you. Waking up to Snow Angels ( went to bed with 7 minutes left) was enjoyable as heck. Seeing the locker room speech and him quoting Marv literally had me on the verge of tears. I WANT this to be the year!!!! It looks like it is shaping up amazingly. BUT, I’ve seen/felt/billieved/wanted this before. He has to win a Lombardi for me to switch. Because, as enjoyable as all these regular season wins are, it doesn’t mean a hill of beans if we don’t win a SB with Josh as our QB. Quite the opposite, it’s as damning an indictment as Shula not winning one with Marino.

Having Milano back is huge, in that regard. Having a starting level player in reserve is quite the luxury.

There is absolutely a synergy that seems to have come out of nowhere. Coaches, draft picks, free agents, luck….. This year certainly has acquired a Feel about it. But, none of it mean anything until it does.
