  1. That's funny, as I thought he was a BPA pick because the FO didn't think he was going to be there.
  2. This is why I hope they snag Doucet in the 2nd on Saturday. Actually I hope the Bills draft Doucet, but if they don't, I hope Denver does.
  3. Please scratch one vote for Flowers in favor of Mike Jenkins. Thanks.
  4. Truer words have never been posted...
  5. The Pats ARE going to take Rivers. Standby...
  6. I didn't know that Steinbrenner was so foolish. Thanks for the heads-up.
  7. Sounds like a Connor/ Doucet scenario to me...
  8. Before you do all that, read this.
  9. He didn't say that the Bills aren't going to address the need at WR in the draft, he just said that they aren't going to address that particular need at #11 overall. I am in complete agreement with him.
  10. Do you think Connor might still be there at #26?
  11. No probs. I'm as anxious as anyone here, and that's because I only get two picks gosh-darnit...
  12. Do you live in the future, or are you illiterate?
  13. Yeah, it resumes in the morning: I think Ramius made an earlier post saying that he can't make it to his PC tomorrow, so he gave us his pick this evening... Relax... Both of you...
  14. I'm not quite sure that WR was ever the preferred option at #11.
  15. I wish Gates would get more credit than what he has received. Bush's successor would be foolish not to keep him on IMO - at least for the first term.
  16. I wonder if JP ever made up north to the TU-lare Antique Farm Equipment Show... He's a SoCal kid, so I highly doubt he's made the trek up north. That's too bad for him because it's a kick in the pants weekend.
  17. I left the 1st round selection vague because I have no idea who to go with exactly. My pipe dream is that Rivers is available at #11, but that's probably just one hell of a pipe dream at this point. So now what do they do? I agree that taking Harvey is not an option after they addressed the DL in FA. He's not the pick. So now the Bills can take their CB of choice, or they can trade out of the spot to teams that want to move up to grab a Mendenhall, an OT, or a CB if there are such suitors to do so. In the mid to lower part of the 1st they can probably snag Dan Connor. If they feel they can't do this when they are on the clock at #11, they pull a 'Donte Whitner' and take Connor then. Then they address WR in the 2nd round when there is going to be one hell of a run on them.
  18. I'm no draftnik, but at pick 11, the consensus top-5 are probably limited to two positions - OT and CB. I say this is ignoring the Bills' needs and going with the BPA mindset. Brendan Albert is listed as a guard, but from what Kiper said on the Mike and Mike show the other day, he has been worked out as an OT prospect. A case can be made for Rashard Mendenhall as BPA at #11, but it is highly unlikely that if he were the BPA the Bills would actually draft him. In the 2nd round it's probably something like this: 1) Brain Brohm/ Joe Flacco 2) Kenny Phillips (if he's still on the board, otherwise replace with your pick of a WR prospect) 3) Pick a WR prospect 4) Pick a WR prospect 5) Pick a WR prospect 5b) Pick a WR prospect
  19. I like where you are going with this, but I think it will defense in the 1st, and WR in the 2nd. I really like the TE/OC combo in the 3rd and 4th, but I think Schmitt will be a goner by the time the 4th round comp picks come into play. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I just don't see him being there. If he is there though the Bills would be foolish not to snag him. Nice post.
  20. No offense taken, but I just don't want to see that kid play for New England. You're right that they are getting a stud at #7 regardless, I just don't want that stud to be Keith Rivers because he will make an immediate impact as a rookie (Willis, Poz for example). Barring injury of course, I would love to re-visit this conversation in January.
  21. This is just what I don't want to see on draft day: Rivers to New England @ 7 would really suck. The caveat every mock mentions first in regard to No. 7 New England is the potential for the Patriots to trade down out of this slot, and that scenario remains a strong possibility. But if the Patriots do stick, Rivers is a rising prospect to keep an eye on. New England asks its linebackers to be able to handle both inside and outside roles in the 3-4, and the Pats feel Rivers can do that. The fly in this ointment is that New England has never drafted a linebacker on the first day in the Bill Belichick era, and if that form holds, look for the Patriots to take the best available defensive lineman (USC tackle Sedrick Ellis) or offensive lineman (Clady or Virginia guard Branden Albert).
