i think the nfl has told teams to not let games get blacked out. miami and jacksonville said at the beginning of the year they would buy out unsold tickets. one way or another, the blackouts will be ending....my opinion.

i'm too lazy to do this....but it would be interesting to look at ALL team historical games played after a bye week, or any game with extra rest (like off a thursday night). this year, the bills lead the league. but i wonder about historically, if it doesn't balance out.

having never played the position (pick-up games don't count ), what is so different about being under center vs. shotgun/pistol?

manning also threw 28 interceptions in his first season, and his team finished 3-13. EJ is better than that (even if you account for the missed games). my point was that you can't judge a career after a few games, or even a season. plus play calling (well discussed in other topics here) has been suspect.

while i do agree with the main point of this thread, this is not statistically relevant. we are 2-4 in other games

betting lines have very little to do with the actual strengths/weaknesses/records of the teams playing. they are there to get people betting. normally, home team gets 3, so you could interpret this as the Jets being favored by 2. all that said, i'd take the Jets to win outright.

quite a few times yesterday, it seemed like Pittsburgh knew exactly what play we were running (run vs. pass) based on our personnel package. we've become too predictable it seems. not to mention the continued failures of 3rd and 1, and not going for it on 4th down, deep in Steelers territory while losing.

Gilmore looked less than average yesterday. the one thing the announcers mentioned (that i agreed with), is that he matches up against big physical WR, not small quick ones. Moorman is terrible. He is maddeningly inconsistent. Will boom 60+ yarders, then shank a few punts. I'd consistently take 45 yarders. What happened to the coffin corner kick? seems to be a dead art in the NFL. Outcouched, i agree. Early in the game they had 3rd and 1, and threw an incompletion. need a power run or QB sneak there. and the decision to punt from the 36 trailing by 2 TD in the 4th was absolutely stupid. Not to mention, this team (and EJ in particular) did not look ready to play yesterday.

everyone said (going into Sunday) that we were better than our 3-6 record indicated. as i've said in the past (and many others), more often than not, you are as good as your record. Sunday proved it.

and here i was thinking we could use another QB on the roster /sarcasm/

one game at a time. don't forget, Pittsburgh probably wants to salvage their season too. and they are going to show up. same with every other game on our schedule. there are NO gimmes. Tampa almost beat Seattle last week!

for any of this to happen, we have to stay relatively healthy, and prove we can win on the road (stating the obvious). neither of which has happened in recent years.
