  1. Just want to tell all the Wallers that next week's show will hold a special place in my heart as well as anyone across this country who has ever heard of Jim Kelly (football Hall of Famer) or donated money to his foundation "Hunter's Hope." I have volunteered for them since Hunter was about a year old...he turns 8 on Valentine's Day (his daddy's birthday also). Hunter has a rare genetic disorder (Krabbe Leukodystrophy) that effects the mylein in his brain. Anyhow, this family in CA (Martinez to be exact) has a teenager who was diagnosed over a year ago. She also lost an infant cousin to the same disorder. Jhyrve has the adult/later onset. She had a stem cell (cord blood) transplant and is 100% engrafted. She could NOT go home for almost a year because the house is full of mold and allergens. A close friend nominated them for this show. So here's my plea! Please watch ABC's January 23, 2005 8PM (eastern time) TV Show...Extreme Home Make Over. One of our "Special Transplant Kids" is the feature. Bring lots of Kleenex. Hopefully anyone asking the questions, "WHY should I donate and support Hunter's Hope?" will get their questions answered. Hunter's Hope has literally paid the daily living expenses for this family for the past 9 months. Jim Kelly had a private plane take them from Duke Medical Center, in North Carolina, to their home in California. Remember if it were not for Jim Kelly's name and fame, there would be no help and certainly no awareness of Krabbe Disease. Jim has literally saved 26 lives in the past few years. This number of transplants also includes three from Europe. Yes, we have lost a small number of transplanted children. Not because of not trying, but because they were transplanted too late. Because of Jim's and Hunter's Hope/Universal Newborn Screening (our new green bracelet) effort, beginning in 2005, New York State will now test for 42 diseases at BIRTH..It was 11 in 2004..... The Test for Krabbe Leukodystrophy is now a reality..The State of Wisconsin and New York State will soon start testing for all Leukodystrophies. So please check out Jhryve's caringbridge site and the Hunter's Hope site. http://www2.caringbridge.org/ca/jhyrve/ www.huntershope.org If newborn screening had been available to her, she could have been transplanted shortly after birth. If it had been available to many of our Krabbe kids, they would be alive. Unfortunately, the children who are detected at birth had to lose a sibling first!
  2. for an adult small jersey...any ideas??? She tried the web site for that store behind 7 Eleven and it won't work.....
  3. He is doing a big GOLF fund raiser for Hunter's Hope I think in Miami. I don't remember if it's in FEB 2005 or April. Check the HuntersHope.org maybe there is info there. The golf tournament is near Fort Myers.
  4. Jim Kelly will be at Boulvard Mall on December 10th from 6-8pm in the food court. This is a benefit for Hunter's Hope. For every bear you purchase ($20 each) you can get one item signed. If you check the HH web site (huntershope.org) and look under events, there may be other signings.
  5. Elizabeth Raine Is the Raine a family name??
  6. It was great running into you in the rain of the tailgate!!!!!
  7. Our bus (along with a couple others) had to park on the frigging street...then some woman who owned a store at the corner came and bitched us out about tailgating on "her sidewalk". So we moved down farther and ended up tailgating with others from Buffalo including Cindy (#89). That stadium does SUCK..the fans were idiots. Although I did see some people being escorted out by cops for smoking...
  8. I'll be there also with a bunch of other Bills fans! We leave here tomorrow morning by bus..staying at the Mount Vernon Hotel and planning on ESPNZone Saturday evening...Doing "DC" on Saturday
  9. Chuck Teal at Teal Travel in Amherst..tell him Christine from LeRoy told you he has two tickts (my parents) to the Ravens game. He has physical possession of them right now...I won't have them to sell until I get on the bus on Friday...here is his phone number 716-688-1696 1-800-463-8325 He will also be accompanying his tour group to Baltimore...
  10. Cannot find the thread on DVd's and/or tapes of games...I'd love to purchase one of yesterday's game...
  11. I may have two tickets today..my parents were supposed to go to the game with a bunch of us (through Teal Travel in Amherst) but have decided to stay home due to my Dad having a stent put in about two weeks ago. He starts cardiac rehab today and is just leary of the long bus ride. Anyhow..if Chuck Teal does not have anyone else interested in going to the game, I will attempt to sell them. I will know more this afternoon once I get home from work.
  12. All of Teddy's teachers (he is on the cover with the Pavilion Tshirt) have purchased this book!! Just to brag a bit...the story about Teddy includes him scoring in a Bball game. Well, my cousin's son (Rick Riggi) gave him the ball until Teddy scored!
  13. Is that Teddy S on the cover??? I know him from my place of work. (BOCES in Genesee County)...My cousin's son (not sure if this is in your book) was the young man who gave Teddy the ball repeatedly until he scored in a BBall game last Fall. If it's ok with you, I'd love to pass this info on to my boss and his teachers about this book!!!!
  14. As a teacher....go to his teacher first....maybe some other parents...then the principal. Make sure of your facts ahead of time.
  15. I'm making a sign for the next home game "Wave on DEFENSE idiots!"....And what's with some peoplle getting in with HUGE backpacks and then some of us having our small fanny packs searched for bottles?? Hopefully Guest Services will be calling me today as I filled out a complaint about all the hockey...cheerleaders...football kids selling candy and pepperoni and junk as a fundraiser. I know for a fact that Hunter's Hope asked to do some fundraising at the Ralph and was told NO!!!!! (and that was both times JK was honored!)
  16. I believe (and someone correct me if I am wrong) but Milestrip East is closed to traffic. I know it was for the preseason game. Where are you taking 20A to??? 390 South?? If that's where you're headed..you could take Rte 20 (transit) to 63 to 390 in Geneseo. We take 20 (with a couple shortcuts) all the way home to LeRoy and the traffic is not bad at all
  17. So did you find a solution for the dog that was constantly barking at night?/
