The defense is missing an emotional leader
Sharky7337 replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya I watched the game. I didn't see one. Or maybe he was too busy being out of place under a lineman lol So your telling me that even though the players themselves mentioned lorax as the motivator that his loss has left no void. Ok. -
The defense is missing an emotional leader

And I mean I do think they play for each other so there is that and its early and one game that was kinda a tough match. However that is kinda what I think too. -

Defensive coordinator calls plays. So he plays telephone. He helps make adjustments but so does secondary amongst each other. Its my take and I expect thay not everyone agrees. But forums are to discuss so that's usually why people post. But people who joined many years after me and wanna be snarky about it go ahead. -

Its not hard to get a feeling for someone's personality from pressers and interviews and seeing them caught out of position in games. You cannot lead unless you also.do so by example. It is an opinion of course. Thats what most forum posts are. Go listen to the post game interview with Edmunds. You're telling me he sounds like a leader? -

It goes in favor of whatever sells the narrative the NFL is trying to sell. These two are the new faces of the league. So they will bend over backwards to let things slide for points to keep it in line with the new narrative -

That isn't what I'm saying. What I'm saying is i do not think we will see the same defensive strength we saw last year out of this team. -

The yellow gloves on the kc defender in the secondary keep messing with my mind always looks like a flag is thrown lol -
It was one game. But I think we are seeing the void left by the departures of Kyle and Lorenzo. Edmunds does not seem to be a leader of men type and is young. Milano has fire but im not sure he fits the bill either. I'm not saying there is no leadership at all - just maybe less of it. We are missing some playmakers up front and we don't seem to have that veteran guy pumping them up. They may turn out to be awesome and that opponent has a great offense. But I think next year the defense will be re-upped to a certain degree. Really I think we need to address our lines here or there and a linebacker/ tight end. Seeing KC who got better on defense and has a dynamic offense makes this a tough sledding this year. Not to mention New England

It isn't a coincidence that penalties and bad calls come just in time to keep games close for teams that need success in large markets. However we got a call in our favor in the end so karma is a mofo

There explanation was that since the ruling on the field was the receiver did not complete the catch process he didnt have possession so they couldn't over turn it..... it was a BS explanation

Tremaine Edmunds and the run game
Sharky7337 replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was a tough game. The rams depend on screens and play action. Before they gashed us with the run we played more disciplined. But once they busted off a few it got the linebackers to bite more on the run and opened it up. I think with a full week after the injuries and some more reps after being out they will improve. But ya hes not as strong as his draft position would indicate he should be -

Anybody surprised at the lack of running thus far?
Sharky7337 replied to DCofNC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It surprises me people feel this way. The book on josh was he couldn't pass so defenses played to stop the run and dare us to pass. As his passing continues - if they show they can keep this up - defenses will play more honest and running will open up.
