  1. When your offense is top 10 in scoring in a league where 12 teams make the playoffs and your defense is ranked in the bottom 3rd I don't see TT being the problem.
  2. Because we all know how critical it is to win the off season. 🙄
  3. I like what we've done this off season. It's more about the coaching staff and scheme for me. A few years ago we killed it in FA and still finished mediocre. We're not going to go from 7-9 to world champs in March. It's about putting the pieces together the best you can now and move forward. FA is only a few days old. Still have a few months plus draft. This isn't a sprint it's a marathon. We had a top 10 scoring offense last year so we're not starting from scratch. We have many players left from a top 5 defense a few years ago. I like SM and what he is trying to do. I'll leave the judging based on the product they put on the field this fall, not the headlines they make in the spring.
  4. With SM as HC I like our direction. We're adding pieces. Making changes. I like.
  5. There are a lot of talented WR in the market. Plus with TT under contract Bills have 10th pick to find one. We're good.
  6. Saw this coming when looking over roster on spotrac yesterday. Savings trumps talent. Easy decision. Best of luck to him moving forward. But i have a feeling this means the Bills still have a big signing in store.
  7. That's what all the Ravens fans are saying in comments. They are celebrating that he's gone. No bueno
  8. As for drafting a QB, bringing back TT allows the Bills to address other needy positions such as WR, S, CB, and a LB that fits SM defense. We need to get starters In The draft at those positions in order to be successful next season.
  9. Doubt this has anything to do with less money. With Osweilers making $18 mill and Glennon rumored at $15mil TT is a steal at $16mil. I would think it's more about the cap effect But all along I don't believe this was about cutting a million here or there. This was about the Bills belief that he was THEE guy to lead the Bills into the future. It seems SM and his coaches are sold on him and he trumped DW wanting to move on This also was a bi product of the Bills realizing that a Romo wasn't avail to them or other options. Bills also probably realized that a QB drafted this year won't play at the level TT would. Again, The Bills offensive production was at a playoff level last season. It was the defense who fell short. This confirms this.
  10. Sensing something about that Mahomes kid. Physically think he can be the best of them all. Depends on his mental makeup.
  11. If McDermott wants TT he will get him. I see Pegs overruling Whaley in this.
  12. I see Bills brass seeing a QB like Mahomes in the draft that can be thee guy for 15 years and want to bring in a Romo type to bridge a year or two and protect for injury. If you think Mahomes has greater skills than TT and you think Romo is a better QB today than TT hard to argue this. I believe McD sees Taylor being a better option than Romo and knows that if we commit to TT than 1st pick will be another position. Honestly throwing the whole $30 mill gtd out the window Taylor is signed for a little under $16 mill this year and $17 mil per season for life of contract. In a QB starved league that's a bargain for his talent and after a year the Bills could trade him and get solid value if they still wanted to draft a Mahomes and let him sit. Problem is tough to use a 1st pick that you know won't help you in year one.
  13. Thought the same thing. Must be a slow news day to write an article about a RB who gained negative yardage last season.
  14. If TT hits the open market expect a 5 year deal at $95-$100 million with at least $40-$45 mil guaranteed. He'll also be assuming the starting QB role, which is obvious for a guy you pay that much money too. That's what DW is competing with and he knows this. Besides, if Whaley feels TT isn't the answer, keeping him for anything close to that kind of money makes no sense for a guy who might be riding the bench. That money can go toward other positions to help the guy you give the job too.
  15. Taylor restructuring his deal for less money makes no sense. Throw the $30 million number aside. His salary average over the next five years is a shade under $17 million. Osweillers deal originally averaged $18 million and currently averages $20 million it's final 3 seasons with $37 million gtd. For a guy who had a half season of experience vs a guy with two seasons under his belt. Taylor's completion percentage is better than Osweilers pre 2016 and his Td/int ratio along with QB rating is way better than Osweilers before this Osweilers train wreck in 2016. Add Taylor's crazy elusiveness and it's a no brainer he's worth more on the market than the deal Osweilers signed. It's clear for a QB starved league that Taylor will get more guaranteed money and a greater average salary if he hits the open market. He will also go to a team that will want and expect him to start, maybe even guaranteeing it. Right now I can imagine trust being an issue between Bills and Taylor. The money isn't the issue for Buffalo, it's the commitment. Taylor's knows this. If they accept the option then the Bills will be committed to TT as their starting QB. If not then he will want to go to a team who will not only pay him more, but will be committed to him as their starter. So for me the restructuring thing is nonsense. Either you pay him the money you signed him for or he'll get more elsewhere. Some say that Taylor is open to shifting the money for cap purposes without losing a dime. But to physically take less will never happen. It's in Whaleys court. Either you feel he's the guy or he isn't.
  16. Way to early to put a grade on this draft, especially with the injuries we had. Won't know for another two seasons.
  17. Thinking there is a connection between the type of QB Cardale can be and...say...Cam Newton. I'm sure it's something that SM is open to discussing.
  18. I see a team like Oakland getting him. They need a solid veteran back up after what happened to Carr
  19. Agreed. But I think $4 mil per season can get it done.
  20. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
  21. Chans downfall was his loyalty to Fitz and Wannestadt. Both drove the team into the ground and he stood by and defended them instead of making changes. Had he had a better QB and DC his last season in Buffalo would have ended differently.
  22. Considering Hogans receptions and TDs mirrored his last season in Buffalo, not sure what the big deal is here. Hogan is a talented receiver. But he isn't a game changer. If he was then his stats would have jumped dramatically having Tom Brady throwing to him vs TT. They didn't. 8 of the 14 games Hogan started this season he had 27 or less yards in receiving. Six of those games he had one or no receptions. He only had two games of over 100 receiving yards, with a 63 yard reception in one game and a 79 yard reception in the other. Not sure that's worth $4 mil per season. Brady is a master at finding the open receiver. Last week that was Hogan. Some will make more of it, especially BN writers who have an axe to grind with Whaley. Hogan wouldn't have changed this seasons results. Nor would a couple good playoff games justify spending $4 million on him. Im happy Hogan is tasting success since he's a good guy. I'm not regretting letting him go.
