  1. I think our issue is going to be depth. When making out the 53 and surveying the cuts the Bills would make there are no shocking names. Most of the guys i've never heard of. If we lose a starter or two were pretty much screwed. If everyone stays healthy we may have a shot at a playoff birth, but based on past history with this team's injuries I'm not keeping my hopes up.
  2. Three Defensive penalties in last drive. Worst PI call in history of the game. Those were the anti-Bills years. Officials would have gotten grilled in today's game.
  3. Shady is a top five RB and Kiko is a middle of the road LB. and THATS why he isn't running any team in the league right now. Idiot Really bro? Unnecessary
  4. Being a proponent of Whaley for many years, even I can see the shortcomings he had regarding QB talent, being married to decisions he made, and his overall linguistic challenges. But with that said, he wasn't the one who put 10 on the field vs. Miami, and I can assure you it was the Pegulas that okay'd Rex bringing his brother in to run the defense. Whaley put together a very talented defense in 2014 and it was rumored that he wanted to bring Hue Jackson in, which would have kept Schwartz as D coordinator. Imagine if that had happened. He was also able to find good players on the street when the Bills needed a plug for a portion of the season or in the case of Lorax a season. But he never opened up with the media and came across at times a bit arrogant, even if he couldn't speak clearly. That left him a sitting target for the media folks. Whether it's Sullivan or Gleason those guys are all over the map with their assessments and at times are a straight out joke. One minute Buffalo is a bumbling franchise and the next they are throwing praise at the Bills Executive brass like Tshirts during a commercial break of a Raptors game. One minute Rex is the man of the hour and the next he's the worst in franchise history. Especially Sullivan, who could find 5 negative things to whine about even if he was a Pats beat writer. He couldn't even spell clue much less have one. I like the direction the Bills are going, and as a nonfan of Rex's blowhard ways it's nice not to be embarrassed by his big mouth making ignorant statements like winning the preseason. As for Whaley, he'll be a VP of Scouting somewhere soon enough and will get another shot at GM eventually. I just hope EJ taught him to know when to cut your losses despite your boyhood crush of finding that "franchise QB".
  5. This doesn't make sense to me. Am I missing something?
  6. Great point I hope they are
  7. Looking back as great as Whaley was at finding talent, building a team was his downfall. Jeff Tuel easily cost us a playoff birth that One year when he had to step in for an injured Manuel. Had we had a competent back up we would have won enough games. How many years did our offensive line kill us? And there we're times our front seven couldn't stop a four year old from rushing for 100 yards. It's just seemed that each year we were always searching for answers at key positions. Sometimes you can get lucky by finding a free agent off the street, but your always playing behind the eight ball in that scenario. Hopefully McD can create the consistency that this team has been lacking for so long.
  8. A move like that you have to get the coaches input. Especially since he is coming off a poor season and in essence may be coaching for his job. You sign your starting QB in Glennon and then instead of taking s possible JJ Watt type impact player you take a QB who is going to sit the bench for a year? That's setting your coach up for failure. If I'm Fox I'm knowing that if I get fired I was put in s position to fail by my GM.
  9. Whaley being fired is worst kept secret ever. Considering McD spent most of draft press conferences having to correct himself when he used "I" with "we" All the scouts did was provide info for McD so he could make the call. All the channels were praising McD without mentioning Whaley. Even I could look like a legitimate source right now by reporting that Whaley will be fired.
  10. I see him and Vallejo as safety candidates.
  11. Kelly had too many character issues. Can't imagine him even being on our board, regardless who he is related to There was another QB a few years back that was proficient in a pro style offense, transferred and learned multiple systems really quick but had questions about his arm strength and even his size. His name is Russell Wilson.
  12. Because trading away a bunch of 5th round picks to move up and pick a potential starter is the worst idea in the world. 🙄 If the Bills can walk away from this draft with 3-4 starters and an extra 1st round pick next year it will be an awesome draft. No one goes 7 for 7. Some fans get it, and some don't. Some see reasons to be positive and some need reasons to complain. I guess 17 years of no playoffs get you that.
  13. First off everyone is staying how this is McD draft and he's in Control. So if anyone is responsible for it it's him Second of all the Bills don't have the luxury to use that high of a pick on a project QB. We have too many holes to fill. And if there is a shortcoming this season in any area the team will get grilled as to why they didn't spend a 1st round pick to help in that area rather than take a project QB Bills are sold on QB this season with TT. Now if White or Zay jones are busts than that's more on who made the selection and less about whether Mahomes is good or not cuz there are other players that I'm sure will be good and there will be questions as to why the Bills didn't select them instead. All that has been stressed with White or Jones are character and leadership in addition to projection. Safe to say that tells ya who is truly calling the shots. It isn't Whaley.
  14. This Are people really tripping over giving up a couple of 5th round picks that rarely if ever make the team over moving up into the top 65 and finding your starting RT hopefully for the next 10 years?
  15. Its refreshing to know what we are walking into next years draft with two number ones instead of zero number ones, which has happened on many occasions. A few drafts of trading down and accumulating high draft picks while still picking solid players will turn out negative reputation around. But for now it's way to early to know whether the difference between Lattimore and White is worth what the Bills got. But so far from I'm reading about White it's a good start. But it's only one round of one draft. We haven't done anything yet.
  16. Sounds like a solid pick. A versatile player with length and special teams skills that can Be a solid starter for the Bills for many years. It's not flashy, but neither was Ronald Darby who was torn to pieces on this board when we took him. I'm going to give McD the benefit of the doubt until I have a reason not to. Love the fact that we got a number 3 this year and another first next year. That's the bigger story in a draft class that will have better QB options after a year when we'll know more about TT and whether he is the long term answer or not.
  17. 10 to 31 would bring a huge haul. Draft is deep at WR TE and CB and there is always that one guy who drops in the draft so Bills could get a solid player at 31 plus add another two picks in top100 this year and a first next year.
  18. From everything McD has said thus far it seems that Whaley and his staffs primary objective is to bring the scouting info to McD and let him make the final say. Whaley and his team have spent years following these draft prospects and have compiled mountains of data. Data that McD will sift through and pick and choose who he feels is best for the franchise. Being a new HC he doesn't have time to prepare team for offseason workouts and prepare for draft without help of Whaley and scouting Dept and a few months isn't enough time to bring a whole new scout team in ( and new GM), compile all their info and be ready for the draft. That's why it makes total sense to wait until after the draft is over before making changes at GM and scouting if that's what they want to do. I honestly feel McD impact on the team was a direct result of TM getting the axe. Pegula is so enamored with McD so far and the style and work ethic he brings to the table and how the train wreck news conferences have subsided I believe Pegs felt the hockey team needed the same leadership after players complained about lack of accountability and discipline. But Whaley and his staff has done a good job bringin in street free agents and that may buy him the 2017 season with the understanding that McD will have authority over draft prospects since Whaley hasn't done so well with that. However if McD has s person in mind to come in and take over right after draft it's byebye Whaley
  19. With the holes at LB WR and RT makes no sense to use a prolific pick on a position where you have your starter Their commitment to TT tells me there must not be a QB they feel worthy at 10 or can come in and play better their first year than TT. Take a position player who can help you week1.
  20. Raiders in Vegas will be a huge success. This isn't a sport with 40 something home games. It's just 8 games spread out over 5 months. Vegas already has a ton of relocated Raider fans from their days playing in LA. Plus the following they've gotten since their existence from Vegas residents who had no local team to cheer for during their haydays in the 70s and 80s. But what has Mark Davis licking his chops are the box revenues, which are barely existent in that hole they currently play in Oakland. Vegas is filled with major corporations, most of which own boxes at the new TMobile arena. September to November are huge convention months here. Add all of the casinos who are going to want boxes for their high end gamers coming to town, along with all of the west coast corporations who are going to want to wine and dine their sponsors a mere four hours away from LA. Boxes will be sold out for years, and will be in high demand because there isn't anything else like the NFL product in the Vegas Market. The Raiders are a strong brand here, even while playing in Oakland. To make them local will create an even larger demand. This doesn't include the marketing revenue the raiders will make bring in this market. Even TMobile arena already earns ridiculous ad revenue for the concerts they put on. An NFL product will take that to the next level. Plus being in a city like Las Vegas and the exposure we get there will be a higher demand for ad space vs a city with low tourist appeal such as Buffalo or Green Bay. Also taking into consideration all of the fans that will make the 4 hour drive to Vegas to watch a game, and all of the fans from other cities who will fly to Vegas to see their team vs flying to a city like Buffalo with little or nothing to do besides attend the game. This all means more revenue for the NFL and makes the league more valuable. In essence it adds value to the other 31 owners. That's why I thought the whole lack of funding thing was a joke. Sure Sheldon Adelson is a powerful man and he even had one investor he had a relationship with pull funding for the move. But 32 billionaires didn't all gain their riches through luck, and it only took a handful of them , including Jerry Jones, to flip through their Rolodex and call a few of their "billionaire" contacts and get the financing done. When a billionaire wants something that involves raising money, 9 times out of ten they get it. When 32 billionaires want it, consider it a done deal. Mark Davis knows that moving his team to Vegas will make his team one of the most valuable in the league in a matter of years, on the level of the Cowboys in regards to box seat and marketing revenue. It's a no brained for Davis, and the additional revenue that having a team in Vegas will bring to the entire league along with added value is why all 32 owners are all expressing their support for this. I've lived in Vegas for 25 years. This isn't some expansion CFL franchise playing the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday night or some rinky dink arena league or minor league hockey team. This is the NFL. It will sell, which is why all other leagues are now openly conceding that a professional sports team in their league in Vegas is now a viable option. The NHL and NFL got in first. NBA will happen, not if. It's all good.
  21. Ain't gonna happen. Not with Tyrod signed. We need weapons for him or the defense if we want to win now. Can't be spending a first round pick on someone who won't see the field
  22. Wish I had as much free time as you. Then again, maybe not.
  23. Probably a money thing.
  24. Agreed. While all the "world is ending" posters are so focused on what other teams are doing, those focused on our franchise have to be encouraged with what's gone on so far at OBD
