    @RapSheet

According to Jalen Ramsey's agent @DavidMulugheta, Ramsey is just out of surgery with Dr. Andrews & is expected to be back for training camp

For the #Jaguars and CB Jalen Ramsey, this was the best-case scenario. The meniscus tear required just a trim. Back by camp. Huge.

As all medical professionals know, all surgery (even if just a trim) carries the risk of permanent spleen damage. Hopefully Ramsey dodges this bullet

  2. Man, I'm going to be interested in watching them. I'll always pull for leodis. As Murph says "My Man!"

I know that I'm in the minority but I thought that Brooks should have been given more of a chance in Buffalo. He was the best open field tackler on the team IMO.

I'm not sure that he's an every down player but I'm not even a little surprised that Schwartz wanted him.

The only time I really ever saw Brooks flash was on ST. Good athlete but seemed prone to make mistakes on D

Dodd has a higher ceiling......bigger guy and his skillset is a bit more natural as a pass rusher. His floor may be lower than Shaq because he hasn't proved himself over quite as much time.........but to me the early rounds are about getting those high ceiling players that can change the fortunes of your franchise. Guys you will pay the excessive 5th year option to without a second thought if they pan out. IMO there were players with comparable ability to Shaq and Ragnuts that went cheap and mostly unnoticed on the FA market........which says everything about their value. If you use your early picks on guys you can ink for $4-$6M per year in free agency you end up paying $15-$20M per for flawed but talented players like Mario Williams and have to do so with the understanding that you will likely end up overpaying in the tens of millions for that talent and eating a ton of dead money at some point. That's just bad business. I don't hold early picks to be sacred but they should be used to build a foundation of great talent......not to patch holes.

While no slouch physically, it's Shaq's intangibles that will make him great. I think Ragland is cut from the same mold in that regard. Leaders for years to come, the anti-Mario's.

it's not even power lifting. its just focusing on a good workout to better yourself. mental clarity. therapy. moments of zen. etc. people who work out enough know this. those who don't don't. people smiling and chatting at the gym piss me off some times. i have been called jason stathom at the gym because i don't talk to anyone for the most part and just focus - i guess i look like a badass or !@#$. it's funny because i'm not at all. just don't care to be friendly.

Yeah, I know what your saying, but I can still fit in a second to check out some talent
  5. Honestly I don't look all that closely.

For one thing, you get used to female fitness competitors posing in such garb, so it doesn't phase you anywhere near as much as it used to in the past.

For another, I'm typically in the zone when I lift. I'll exchange pleasantries with others, but I'm usually going at an intense enough effort level that I'm too busy trying not to pass out to spend much time admiring the scenery.

Not that the girl isn't good looking; she's attractive from what I can tell 50 feet away--I'm just a bit spoiled by Mrs. Bandit.

Now, were I a single dude in my 20's, I can assure you that I'd be paying closer attention.

I never want to be in that zone

I agree with you and the guy with the funny/creepy costume.

In your humble opinion if he is healthy and field ready in week 8 but we are already toast and Rex is a looking like a goner, would you hold him out the rest of the year? Is there any point in inserting him into a system that won't be in place come 2017? Would reps help him grow as a pro just because they're reps or is growth scheme specific?

Personally I think leaving him out makes more sense as much as I'd like to see him. I don't think they will though because Rex will try to go all out in the games with Lawson in an effort to show his scheme is still viable if he has "his players". It won't work but the injury risk to a first round rookie will be back in play. I am normally not in favor of firing a coach mid season but getting a new plan in place for the following year probably makes sense in this particular scenario. Our bye is after week 9 which is interesting timing. If it were after week 4 there is no way of letting go then.

By the way Mike, I find this creepy and recommend a new hobby:

    Not into furries?

  7. These are the worst kind of posts. Yes, the pass defense was pretty good last year. Yes, they still GREATLY underachieved as a unit overall. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it just goes to show how bad the front seven was when our pass defense actually exceeded all expectations and we still sucked. You could easily construct an argument that Rex "destroyed" our defense, absolutely. Look at the pass rush numbers. Would be just as easy for someone to cite them and make some snide "wait but I thought Rex was the best coach ever..." comment.

Nah, just balances out the other side
