  1. I have and agree with you that it will be nearly impossible for us to win that, but that's why they play the games.

I think the premise of the OP is that the loss won't hurt us that much.

Well, since both NE and MIA play NFC opponents, losses will actually help their playoff chances because of the tiebreaks

Please please please is more like it but I agree. Every year each team pulls off a big upset. Maybe this can be ours. Momentum can be a cool thing if we somehow pull this off.

    Probably not though, right?

  3. isn't that usually a key every game? Getting pressure on the QB?

Sure, but more so in this game I think. Flacco's strength is a big arm for long developing deep plays, can't give him time

  4. A lot of QBs look good in preseason. Oz is a tease QB because he is so big and has a cannon and his highlight reels are awesome and can go for stretches looking damn good. He's just not any good. Which is why I think Elway gave up on him. Guys like OBrien think they are QB Whisperers and can do wizardry on guys like that. I think he will soon find out you can't when real bullets fly.

I think Houston walks away with that division. Good team

  5.

What were your thoughts on the D at this point last year?

Last year was a shocker for me but I think Rex gets too much of the blame.

Most statistics had us as a middle of the pack defense (not the worst in the league as you would think). Obviously well below expectations, and the previous year. Rex was not the only variable. Major injuries (Kyle & Aaron we're two big ones) without proven depth behind them at the time, an aging malcontent in decline- :"traffic cone," and a complex new system in year one of the install. I think we should have brought in a couple veterans last year to help install (David Harris), our young defensive core just didn't seem to get it (Preston Brown). Looks to me they get in now and we've brought in some great Dline depth and secondary talent.

I'm chalking up last year to the learning curve.

  6. Schoop is easily the most entertaining personality on wgr. The fact that he has such a polarized reaction attests to that.

For the most part, he has intelligent ways to get his point across which is respectable whether you agree with him or not. And more often than not, if you look at things objectively (which is almost impossible for some), he's usually right.

It would be nice if he knew, or cared to know, anything about football. But, if you like tennis, Schoop's your guy
