Lee Smith has started a lot of games in this league and obviously has value to NFL teams- just not to message board posters fixated on fantasy statistics.
This is inaccurate. They got a 2nd and Gaines for Sammy. They used the 2nd to move up for Allen. They spent a third on KB, which was obviously a disaster of a deal. Funny how people often mention this deal but not, say, the Tyrod trade...
I just feel like a 26 year old Clowney has immense upside in this defense. He's exactly what McD likes at end, and I think he has been misused in Houston.
I hate looking at next years draft class this far out. Things always change.
Fair point but I see no scenario where we would be using our 1st next year on a QB. Even if Allen is not the guy, we probably won't no for at least another year.
I'd do it, Clowney is a perfect fit for this D and could make it special.
I don't think Houston would take less, I mean they could just keep him for the year, let him walk, and then get a high comp pick.
I really like Sweeney. Long wingspan and extremely strong hands to catch Allen's fastballs. His hands really stand out. I think he makes the team and might have more of an immediate impact than Knox- who has more upside but needs more development- IMO.
Based on Beane's comments, he also had Ford graded higher than Harry. As he was trying to get back into the first to get him, and Harry was on the board until the last pick of the round.
You can see the intriguing athletic traits on tape. When he shoots his gun, it's a blur. Really like him as a blitzer. But he has a lot of bad tape. Hope he can clean it up.
Alexander is going to play LB. Behind Hyde and Poyer we have an aging Bush and not much else.
You going to question this regimes pick of defensive backs?
I like small, shifty RB's behind a massive Oline. Easy for them to get lost.
Our Oline is really shaping up to be huge. We are going to be able to pound the rock this year.
