  1. I agree to some extent. But I think this last game provides a good example of the issue. That last pats drive Epenesa came screaming free off the edge and it looked like it was going to be a game ending strip sack. But Mac hit his back foot and the ball was out. Josh doesn't do that enough, he looks for the first reason to escape, spin around, and go off script. And then we all complain about the line. Nothing is easy or on schedule. Like many have been saying forever, just take the layup.
  2. We certainly have had bad injury luck. I think we would be fielding an eilte D with a healthy Tre, Milano, Jones, Von... How would the Chiefs build be looking right now if they were missing Chris Jones, Nick Bolton, McDuffie, and Karlaftis all for the year? While not elite I do think our Oline is much improved. Josh is often his own worse enemy in that regard with his time to throw- it's always among the longest in the league.
  3. My point was not about them specifically, although they are banged up. Just from a roster contractions stand point it's easier to create "the best roster in the NFL" when your not paying an elite QB. The whole idea of the elite QB is to be able to lift up the lesser talent around them.
  4. It seems like the Bills always need this "written off for dead" moment to get the juices flowing. Then they come out with a chip on their shoulder and rip off a bunch of wins. That upcoming schedule looks daunting though.
  5. On the plus side, at least the short week won't impact Allen's level of preparation!
  6. But those weapons come at an expense. If you need to surround the guy with multiple top weapons than maybe you shouldn't be paying him $250M. Go get Brock Purdy
  7. He should but we're in year six. I think he is who he is by now. Take away his running and sometimes I feel like I'm watching Jeff George back there.
  8. Unfortunately the defenses we play are well aware of his strengths as well.
  9. Be curious to see what they do. I know everyone will be clamoring for offense weapons but I think that have to add defensive reinforcements.
  10. Yet everyone was screaming before about him running too much... Doesn't help that when he does run his brain seems to turn off and he's looking for contact or a reason to attempt a hurdle or something stupid. One of the frustrating things about Mahomes is that he's always scampering around but never seems to get hit.
  11. Oline spending ranks pretty high. The have a highly paid LT, highly paid C, an early pick at RG and and their prized FA acquisition for the year at LG. They also have nice depth and even the weak spot (RT) was a 3rd round pick. I think the line had been much improved this year.
  12. A defense down half it's starters trying to hold up a dormant offense for 3.5 quarters. Let's not mention the takeaway to even get them in position to take the lead. Our fully healthy elite offense needs to carry this, unfortuantely, undermanned defensive unit. Not the other way around.
  13. lol, who is the most important player with the largest % of the cap and gets all the glory when they win? Let's pin the blame on Kendal Vickers Tyrel Dodson! Obviously he is great and we're lucky to have him. He simply needs to be better and more consistent. The frustrating part is we're not asking him to do something beyond his capabilities. He has all the tools in the world, we're not sitting here with a maxed out Kurt Cousins.
  14. No one ever says that. When met with any criticism the reply is always- "i gUEss hE SUCks tHEN!!!"
  15. Unfortunately at this point I don't think he's all of a sudden going to turn into a film junky. Sadly at this point my hope is that we just unleash him and go all Cam Newton. Hopefully we catch lighting in a bottle and can steal one title. The shooting star approach rather than sustained long term success. I just don't see special attributes consistently enough when he's trying to win traditionally.
  16. This is basically exactly what I've been seeing. The disappointing thing is that we've seen him win with his mind before. Early last season he looked in complete control like Peyton Manning at the line or something. That 's the frustrating part, it's in there. It just leads me to believe he is not putting in the work.
  17. My take is that if you want more star offensive weapons than you can't have a QB taking up such a large % of your cap. Even the Chiefs had to let Tyreek go. The elite highly paid QB needs to elevate those around them. You might be able to get a situation like that short term- the Bengals- but when you start having to pay everyone it doesn't work
  18. Plus the fact that Brady's OC his first 4 or so years was Charlie Freaking Weiss
  19. I'm sick of wow plays. I want to see the average play made consistently. On time and on schedule.
  20. Maybe he should get an average salary then. Imagine all the weapons he could have!
  21. Outside of Kelce who does any one worry about? Brady made it work with Gronk and cast offs for years. It's a tired excuse. You pay an elite QB to elevate those around them.
  22. Bills had free rushers plenty. A good example was on that last drive when Epenesa came screaming off the edge ready for a strip sack to end it. What happened? Mac hit is back foot and the ball came out on time (wow, yes, on schedule throws are actually allowed?!?!). If that was Josh he would have looked for the first reason to escape the pocket, twirled around, and searched for a wide open stationary target to throw a laser to. The better QB, today, won the game. Yet here we are constantly looking for every other excuse in the world when the answer is starring us straight in the face. We have an elite so-called MVP level QB that plays like poop an alarming amount of the time. If he can't win with his mind and excel in this traditional QB style they have been trying then they might as well unleash him and live with the consequences. Because he only seems to be truly special off script or when running. With teams playing this two deep stuff, forcing patience- and his reluctance to use his legs- nothing within the structure of the offense looks special. Blaming our MASH unit of a D is nonsense. our fully intact "elite" offense is supposed to carry the day.
  23. Ah yes, our fully intact elite offense with 10 points with seven minutes left in the game, just like the last two crap performances and 4 of 7…. But let’s blame the mash unit
  24. Always the same story. Looks that way because he doesn’t throw on time, holds the ball, and scrambles around going off script. Nothing is on schedule. How often did we have a free rusher closing in on Mac just to not get home because he hit his back foot and got rid of the ball?
