  1. I agree. The Giants have to know that Jones is not worth paying or tying themselves to for any longer. I’m not sure that they’ll trade him in the off-season though. If they find their guy in FA or via trade, then certainly. If they don’t and have to draft a QB then they’ll likely keep him for year 4 - or at least until after the draft. Chicago is the interesting team where it comes to lower drafting teams looking for a QB. They’ve got Justin Fields and pick #2 right now. Seems like they’ll be moving one of those.
  2. I want the 1st seed, not just for the bye. I also only want the Bills to have to only beat the Bengals OR the Chefs. Sitting at the 2nd or 3rd seed likely means having to beat both in consecutive weeks.
  3. How about Shady for a pup with a grey or black coat?
  4. Yes, of course it was. Lots of better options on the board who could’ve been starters since his role was always going to be DL depth. That’s an awfully high pick for a depth piece.
  5. A few points of agreement and disagreement with this: - I don’t think teams get a lot of value for elite OTs at market rates. I’d much rather get an above average one at the lesser MV. So I agree with that. But Houston has so little talent I think they’re stuck with him and have to pay him unless they want to trade him. - HOU winning 2 games this season doesn’t matter at all. You could use that rationale to dump any player from any bad team. The point should be to maximize future wins and Tunsil can do that - especially considering he’d be protecting a rookie QB who might need that security. That’s huge in my book. - You have to factor in the opportunity cost for pick 11 (ish). It could be used on an addition to the team at another important position like WR or Edge. Also there’s no guarantee that the LT they would select would be as successful as Darrisaw. Just look at the 2020 draft to see the good, bad and mediocre possibilities. Other posters pointed out that Tunsil is rated the 12th best tackle. That’s from PFF so I’ll use their stats for this. That rating includes RTs, which still have a slightly easier job than LTs. They also have Tunsil rated the #1 pass blocker of any OT. That’s huge and worth a lot more than run blocking at LT. I think Houston has little choice than to pay him, and probably overpay him at that. But he could be huge in helping their new rookie QB become successful and they certainly have the cap space for him. Plus they need pick 11 for a WR (or maybe edge).
  6. I agree - especially if the refs are not protecting the other players from dirty hits, cheap shots, etc.
  7. https://www.al.com/sports/2022/12/nfl-fining-patriots-quarterback-mac-jones-again.html?outputType=amp For the second time this month Jones is getting fined for a dirty play that no flag was thrown on. Refs should not be letting him get away with this stuff.
  8. It never seems to be that sexy or fun to talk about, but your point about turnovers is the biggest factor in determining the winner on Monday. Two very good teams are facing each other and the team that wins the turnover battle likely wins the game.
  9. He was a beast, but this announcement was expected two seasons ago when he signed with Zona. He’s declined due to age and wear and tear, his contact is up and he would not get paid well if he continued to play. Better to tip his cap now and walk away than have to do it in the off-season after seeing the modest one year contract offers.
  10. Agreed. Woods (DC) and Priefer (STC) will likely be fired though.
  11. Spotrac estimates Jacob’s’ market value at 4 yrs, $48,627,484. Link He’s not signing for $4M-$5M/season.
  12. I’m sure you can understand why the reason the NFL gave publicly was one that allowed them to disavow responsibility for the mistake.
  13. The continued ineptitude by NFL and Dolphins is crazy. No coach in his right mind would want to put a concussed player back on the field. Tua’s stats pre and post concussion tell one reason why. Short and long term health impacts are another. But the NFL continuing to screw this up is even more shocking. As focused as they are on optics, missing this is unacceptable. Remember that they fired the doc that missed it last time. Now the replacement misses the same guy bouncing his head off the ground. Wow!
  14. I make burgers two ways at home and both yield excellent results: 4 oz smash burgers on a cast iron plancha in my BGE at 600F. 80/20 or 85/15 works well. Great for beef that is tightly compressed in packaging. Wagyu from Costco is my go to if I don’t have a cow from a local farmer. Getting my next 1/2 cow in January. 6-8 oz (and up) cooked sous vide at 133F for an hour (or more), then seared on the BGE at 600F (min). Great for more loosely ground beef. 85/15 is perfect, but I don’t like anything fattier done this way. It’s difficult to say what was the best burger I had out. A lot of places do good or even very good burgers, but few do great ones. Giancarlo’s had an excellent one, but they recently took it off the menu. Five Guys is my go to around Buffalo if I need a quick burger fix.
  15. I’m convinced that the networks are making the announcers dumb down everything for the masses. Herbie didn’t used to be like this. It’s like Chris Collinsworth is giving classes to every announcer - and they’re mandatory.
  16. I agree. There’s other stuff he has done that could’ve landed him in jail.
  17. From the linked article: According to officials, the 34-year-old is wanted for battery after a verbal altercation at a home in south Tampa on Nov. 28. The warrant states that the incident became physical when the suspect threw a shoe at the victim. Officials also said in the warrant that the suspect attempted to evict the victim from the residence and locked her out of the home. I think AB is totally nuts, but no prosecutor was going to do much with a thrown shoe that missed. I saw that video. That was beyond messed up. Had to be his money that got him out of that one.
  18. I think the incredible amount of money QBs like Ryan make are keeping some around longer than they’d otherwise want to play. That sure looks to be the case here. (I’m sure other will walk early after making enough to set themselves up for life.) The Colts have made obvious mistake after obvious mistake at QB since Luck. Ryan, Wentz, Rivers and even Brissett. What they paid and traded for that lot is ridiculous. Still, screw them for tanking for Peyton and Luck. They deserve this.
  19. Exactly. Sometimes this goes with the elite WR who wants the ball territory. It is what it is.
  20. Many years ago I was at a Steelers game and he was standing about 20-30 feet from where I was walking. I usually leave celebrities alone and did on that day, but it was cool to see him up close. He was taller than I expected. RIP Mr Harris.
  21. Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip is my all time favorite ice cream. It is available at Buffalo area Wegman’s. Still worth a trip tho. If you are a craft beer fan, Rhinegeist would be on my list to visit.

    Zubaz

Do Zubas get more comfortable after washing? Do they ever actually get comfortable? On the rack they feel awful. Considering buying a pair as a Christmas present, but don’t want to saddle someone with something that feels terrible to wear.
  23. Fields is literally the only Bears player worth worrying about. It’s the NFL and anything can happen on any given Sunday, but that is the territory we are in.
  24. Yup. And when refs are inconsistent then fans can always find a call or two to blame the loss on. Heck, fans do that even on the occasions the refs call a good game.
