  1. Just look at all the teams that need a QB. Fields would fetch more than that. I’d love to see him in a Shanahan style offense - but not in Miami please.
  2. Dawkins, Morse, Bates, Brown and Doyle are the only OL on our roster who are not UFAs this offseason.
  3. Doubtful on using the FT on Edmunds. LB tag includes pass rushing OLBs so it is projected to be $21M in 2023. No bueno.
  4. Edmunds bet on himself and I certainly respect that. He’s gonna get paid by some team, but I don’t know that it’ll be the Bills. It’ll probably come down to how crazy another team gets and how much he wants to be here. How the season ends could play a big part too.
  5. As ticket prices rise and price out more regular fans, the amenities become more important and more lucrative. Chicago will be able to fill those seats for other sporting events, concerts, etc.
  6. Just checked it out. It’s depressing. They suck and they’re drafting 9th with a bunch of QB-needy teams drafting ahead of them. I love the “I like pie” reaction for posts though.
  7. Lovie Smith was just a one year placeholder. His job was to right the locker room, endure this horrific season and then step aside. He is being paid very well for it. By all accounts he’s very well respected in NFL circles and is considered to be an outstanding human being so I’m happy to see him go out with a W.
  8. I guess it depends on whether they like a QB in the draft more than Fields. They’re either going to trade the pick for a haul or Fields for a lesser but still substantial haul.
  9. playing with the torn meniscus rather than opting for surgery and being ready for the start of 2023 could cost Poyer a lot of money. Big tip of my cap to him being all in for a championship.
  10. The team claiming him would have his rights until the end of his contract, which is the end of the current league year in March. They couldn’t force him to play though. So either a team he wants to play for would claim him and he’d play for that team or a team he doesn’t want to play for would claim him to block him from playing elsewhere. So he’d never make it to a team like the Bills. Teams high on the waver wire would just claim him to keep him from going to a top seed. It’s a moot point anyway. The Browns will keep him on their roster this last week for the comp pick. Yeah. He has been a good player, just not close to what you’d expect from an edge that went #1 overall.
  11. Unlikely that the Browns would release him. His salary for the last game is $73k and he will net the Browns a comp pick down the line. He won’t be on the active roster for the last game so that will cost him $44k in per game roster bonus.
  12. Put his own life at risk to save his kids’ lives. Nothing much more heroic than that IMO. Glad to hear that he’s improving.
  13. You’re just throwing away good booze? That’s your problem right there.
  14. These are currently the five worst records in the NFL: Indianapolis 4-11-1 Denver 4-12 Arizona 4-12 Chicago is 3-13 Houston is 2-13-1 By starting Peterman Da Bearce are doing what they can to get that 1st overall pick. The Texicans are playing a foundering Indy team that also wants to lose their last game. This is going to go down to the wire.
  15. If you watch the video you might think otherwise. Thibodeaux literally has to repeatedly pull in his right arm on his snow angels to avoid hitting Foles. He knew he was still laying there.
  16. I support whatever the team needs collectively and the players need individually. I know the team is providing counseling and other resources, which is great, but sometimes things take time to process.
  17. I would’ve supported my son if he wanted to play football. Instead he skied/boarded, swam, played in concert band and is now on an eSports team in college. He has a ton of musical and artistic talent, but did not want to commit the time and effort into those - and as a parent you can’t force that and expect a good outcome. My daughter is a HS senior and has played premier soccer for her whole life. She’s dealt with concussions and other injuries from that and skiing, but seems in great physical shape now. She has chosen not to play in college, but I think it was great for her overall. No sport or activity my kids have been involved with has been as concerning to me regarding their safety and wellbeing as them driving at night in the rain or snow - something they’ve both done numerous times for work.
  18. Definitely a possibility. The report I heard talked about the NFL speaking with the teams and NFLPA among others before making their decision. I think there’s still a real chance the game gets completed.
  19. Happy to see this. The league has pleasantly surprised me. I really thought they’d push to get it in this week.
  20. The problem is that there is no solution that does not penalize at least one team. A tie would actually penalize both the Bengals and the Bills. The Bills would lose the #1 seed and the Bengals would lose the chance of the #2 seed and their shot at the #1 seed. KC potentially gets penalized with no game as their chance at the #1 seed is gone. Reworking the schedule penalizes several teams……etc.
  21. Then it’ll be a forfeit. I fully support the Bills if that is their choice. But I am certain that the league is going to try to make the teams complete the game.
  22. The NFL isn’t going to cancel a game. My best guess is that it resumes on Wednesday. As for other options, IMO Cincinnati should not be penalized for doing the right thing in that situation. It was very early, but it is worth noting that it was a game they were winning.
