I think the “starting Dorian Williams on the outside” comment by Beane was a way to take pressure off of the 3rd round rookie. If I am reading that correctly, then it is a smart move. I have to think the plan is to try him in the middle.

I don’t think I ever watched his show but he was on one of the Comedy Central Roasts and was pretty funny.

I forgot about him paying hookers with personal checks! 😆

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

Unless you need concrete poured. No one’s going to be able to pour a foundation or floor until the stadium’s concrete work is done. -
Are we more deserving of the SB hype this year than last?
BarleyNY replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Players should say they’re doing everything they can to help their team win the SB. My issue is more with the fans whose insecurities are on full display every time a top team or player topic comes up. -
Plus his insurance premiums are going to skyrocket!

My cousin is an Ohio State Trooper. She said that as long as you aren’t going 10 or more over Troopers will almost never pull you over. If you’re 10 or more over, then you’re getting a ticket - even if you’re family.

12 of 32 2020 5th yr options picked up. Bills 100% since 2017

Overall I think this regime has done a better than average job of drafting. How often a GM picked up the 5th year options on the players he drafted has only a little impact on that opinion. -

You deserve what you earn. The Bills have tried to improve the team this offseason, just like every other team. Accolades this time of year for having a good team on paper are just sad. There’s nothing to do but see how it all plays out. -
I think a lot of people’s sarcasm meters are broken.

People are laughing, but Jerry Springer was actually the mayor of Cincinnati. Another interesting fact about him is that he was born in London during WW2 to Holocaust survivors.

This is what I noticed in the past. They sometimes blitz too. The Cincy playoff game was an exception in that they blitzed a lot in it especially as it progressed. An issue the past 5 seasons was that Edmunds was on the field almost 100% of the time and he was absolutely horrible at blitzing. Hopefully whomever claims the MLB spot can be effective at it. They have blitzed an CB occasionally and it has been effective. In part that’s probably because they don’t do it a ton.

Just being able to close out games by predominantly running the ball would be a huge plus for this team.

This Bills over/under seems like stealing money

It all depends on Watson. The Browns are a very complete and talented team. They should have had 10 wins last season with Brissett and a rusty Watson but their DC (Woods) was hot garbage. Now Jim Schwartz has that role and they have added talent at WR and DT. their biggest problem is that the AFC North is going to be as tough as the AFC East. They do have the advantage of playing a fourth place schedule though. -
Do you guys feel right about FA/Draft and the "Process" ?
BarleyNY replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
We won’t truly know who we are this year until the playoffs. Everyone should be well aware of what can happen in a long and grueling season. That applies not just to the Bills, but to every team. -

Agreed. I was just about to post essentially this. -

Analyzing 10 years of first round TE production
BarleyNY replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he has a lot of value as a Z but I would pump the brakes on the “moveable chess piece” stuff for the moment. I think that could be the long term plan/hope for him though. The issue is that his blocking has been pretty abysmal up until now. No exaggeration: As good as he is at route running and pass catching is how poor his is at blocking. Defenses will just match up our 12 personnel with a standard Nickel or a Big Nickel package. If he can improve his blocking then he can be moved around and put at F or Y as well as Z. Then defenses will have to make some tougher choices - especially later in the season and in the playoffs when injuries take away some personnel options. Things like this are why things like having a quality third (and even fourth) safety is so important. -

Failure to properly use offensive assets would not fall on the GM. It’s probably be the fault of the OC unless the QB could not execute the scheme (which isn’t the case here). It remains to be seen how it all plays out, but I don’t think there is much to change. We will see a lot more 12 personnel but Kincaid will effectively be the slot WR in our 11 personnel package. My expectations for him is to perform like a good slot WR. I have loftier expectations for TDs than yards because I think we see a lot of 12 personnel in the RZ. -
I think the Bills did a good job overall. My big complaints about their team building strategy over the last few seasons were addressed so I’m very happy about that too. My frustrations have included: - Lack of 21 personnel. Check. - Lack of weapons for Allen. Check. - Insistence on dedicating resources (huge FA contracts and 1st and 2nd round picks) to fix every defensive issue. Not this year. - Lack of quality additions to the OL to protect Allen and help the run game. Check again. I’d have loved to have seen another quality WR added, but I’m pretty damn happy overall with the Bills approach.

I’ve been wondering why he’s still available. Maybe waiting on a bigger contract? Or he wants to avoid mandatory OTAs.

Anything is possible but that would surprise me. I’ve heard several evaluators say that JSN was the only WR they had with a 1st round grade. I’ve yet to hear a single one say he was not rated as a first rounder. Not to say that teams couldn’t have a wide variety of rankings and ratings on just about any player.
