  1. Agreed. I was just about to post essentially this.
  2. I think he has a lot of value as a Z but I would pump the brakes on the “moveable chess piece” stuff for the moment. I think that could be the long term plan/hope for him though. The issue is that his blocking has been pretty abysmal up until now. No exaggeration: As good as he is at route running and pass catching is how poor his is at blocking. Defenses will just match up our 12 personnel with a standard Nickel or a Big Nickel package. If he can improve his blocking then he can be moved around and put at F or Y as well as Z. Then defenses will have to make some tougher choices - especially later in the season and in the playoffs when injuries take away some personnel options. Things like this are why things like having a quality third (and even fourth) safety is so important.
  3. Failure to properly use offensive assets would not fall on the GM. It’s probably be the fault of the OC unless the QB could not execute the scheme (which isn’t the case here). It remains to be seen how it all plays out, but I don’t think there is much to change. We will see a lot more 12 personnel but Kincaid will effectively be the slot WR in our 11 personnel package. My expectations for him is to perform like a good slot WR. I have loftier expectations for TDs than yards because I think we see a lot of 12 personnel in the RZ.
  4. I think the Bills did a good job overall. My big complaints about their team building strategy over the last few seasons were addressed so I’m very happy about that too. My frustrations have included: - Lack of 21 personnel. Check. - Lack of weapons for Allen. Check. - Insistence on dedicating resources (huge FA contracts and 1st and 2nd round picks) to fix every defensive issue. Not this year. - Lack of quality additions to the OL to protect Allen and help the run game. Check again. I’d have loved to have seen another quality WR added, but I’m pretty damn happy overall with the Bills approach.
  5. I’ve been wondering why he’s still available. Maybe waiting on a bigger contract? Or he wants to avoid mandatory OTAs.
  6. I do not think anyone was unaware of JSN’s hamstring or size.
  7. Anything is possible but that would surprise me. I’ve heard several evaluators say that JSN was the only WR they had with a 1st round grade. I’ve yet to hear a single one say he was not rated as a first rounder. Not to say that teams couldn’t have a wide variety of rankings and ratings on just about any player.
  8. I never said I wanted the Bills to go defense early. I most certainly did not. I was just gaming out who they could have taken in the third if they got stuck taking defense early.
  9. I’d have preferred a more aggressive move up for JSN. If not that, then I’m good with what the Bills.
  10. Several good prospects were available Kinda figured it had to be a MLB tho. I’d have been happy with any of several but thought Adebawore might have been too tempting to pass on. I wonder why he’s still available? If we’d have stayed put at 27 and gone with a DT, then Darnell Washington would’ve been really nice in the third. As it stood a good case could’ve been made for Wright (WR) or Ika (NT). If roster space allows I like having a couple DTs on the roster that can pair up to stop the run when needed. I’m only confident we have one right now in Jones. Edit. meant Wright, not Scott
  11. I just saw someone say Gronk too. Combo of Kupp, Kelce and Gronk! This guy should’ve gone 1 overall!
  12. Let’s think all the way through the nicknames before we post…..
  13. I don’t believe that. If rather than acquire a draft pick they are keeping an aging $20M WR around for Colt McCoy to throw to this season then the AZ FO should all be fired.
  14. A lot of posters here think NFL draft boards look like the mock draft simulators. Teams generally don’t stack players vertically like that, they use a horizontal draft board. That ranks players by draft ranges where they are considered appropriate value. A lot of different information can be added to that- ratings, red flags, etc. So when it’s time to pick there usually isn’t just one player there sticking out, though that does happen - there are several players to discuss and chose from.
  15. The Steelers punked the Jest. Payback for Derrelle Revis. Took them 16 years, but they did it.
  16. I wanted the Bills to trade up to get JSN when he slid. After he went at 20 there were a lot of similarly rated players I was fine with. We got one of them.
  17. I certainly see the fit. The offense needs someone besides Diggs that can uncover early. That will be especially useful in the red zone. So I’m guessing we will see a lot of 11 personnel when there’s a lot of field in front of us and a lot of 12 in the RZ. I only watched the ASU game so I haven’t seen a lot of film. I love his hands and route running. But I really hate his “blocking” and dislike that he’s an older prospect - he’ll be 24 in October. I’m not wild about the back injury either. Still, I really didn’t see a lot of better options out there at 25/27. I’d have much preferred a more aggressive trade up into the teens for JSN though.
  18. So signing for a lot more money than he could have last year, becoming the highest paid NFL player ever (as of today) and doing it all without an agent or paying their commissions isn’t anything special or smart? You’re certainly welcome to that opinion. I think he did pretty damn well.
