the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
BarleyNY replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
The criticism of the Daniels contract has been overblown IMO. Coming off of a playoff season they had to do something to keep him. Schoen did a reasonable job there because the contract was effectively a 2 year, $82M deal, which is over this season. More than he was worth, obviously, but they were stuck and needed to see if he continued to develop. I think Dabs and Schoen get to pick their QB and get a shot with him. The Giants are a stable organization with steady ownership and that bodes well for them staying. -
If Myles Garrett is available.. How much are you willing to offer?
BarleyNY replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I do not expect the Brown to move Garrett, but them trading Za’darius Smth is looking more and more likely. He’d help the Bills and would be reasonable in trade compensation. -

For real. How difficult is it to find some staph cells? -
While I agree that the NFL’s product has seen an overall decline, I gotta say that I really enjoyed today’s game.

This is going to hurt the Browns badly from a cap standpoint, but there will be some cap relief due to the injury insurance policy that the Browns have on him. More info in the tweet replies. -
That’s hilarious. Finally approved the day after the stadium move was announced. I have to think that this was something that got moving to save the stadium on the lake. Now we will see if the city can effectively use it to redevelop the area.

Edmunds played here on his 5th year option before becoming a FA. Yes, Rousseau’s option has been picked up for 2025, but he and the Bills can negotiate a new deal at any time. Next offseason makes sense to come to a long term deal if it’s going to happen, but I think there’s too much money on the table in FA for him so I expect him to play it out. That’s what happened with Edmunds.

Spotrac estimates GR’s market value at $23.2M/season on a 4 year, $92.8M deal. I expect this situation to be similar to Edmunds’. Some team will overpay him if/when he hits FA and I won’t want the Bills to match it. I think if he was okay with staying for less, then it will be done this coming offseason. Same as Edmunds. Edit: meant this coming offseason, not last

Amari Cooper is expected to play on Sunday
BarleyNY replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cooper handles himself as a professional. No surprise he’ll suit up. -
Burke seems to be a favorite of the rich folks and corporations with private planes. There has been talk of closing it for decades, but nothing ever happens. Cleveland would need to repurpose that land and build a land bridge over parts of the shore way to make development of the lakefront work. That’s always seemed like too heavy a lift for the city.
-
The lakeside land the current stadium is on can’t support a stadium with a roof which the Haslams very much want. Also the powers that be in Cleveland won’t develop the lakefront near the stadium and have drug their feet on doing much of anything else. Much like Niagara Falls is always shown for prime time Buffalo games I’m sure they’ll still show the Rock Hall, etc.

Really can’t beat the location of Wingnutz or Elmo’s to UB. Not sure about Elmo’s, but Wingnutz easily has the room to accommodate 16. I would not bother with Amherst Ale House unless you want to sit in small groups at 3 or 4 different tables.

A trade of Garrett is already being speculated about in Cleveland. He will be 29 next month and the Browns might need to blow things up. A lot would depend on return and I would remind people that he’s the reigning DPOY. He wouldn’t be cheap. I thought a Cooper trade out of Cleveland was more likely than not. I’d go the other way on Garrett as of today, but it’s not out of the question as I think things in Cleveland only get worse. Fans are praying that Goodell suspends Watson again so they can void his guarantees and cut him.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
BarleyNY replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it depends on their expectations of Samuel returning to health. If he does, then we have: WR1 Cooper (X) WR2 Shakir (Y/Z) WR3 Samuel (Y/Z) WR4 Coleman WR5 Hollins I am happy with that. If Samuel is expected to be hobbled the whole season, then I’d want the Bills to keep looking at the trade market. It’s easier to find a Y/Z than an X so that would help. -

Amari Cooper gives the Bills a real chance. They had none with the WR corps as it was constructed. It’s nice to not see media and many fans pretend that the chickens**t WR sandwich was really chicken salad. -
I am mot aware of rules regarding the plane of the passer’s arm, only that forward motion of the passer’s arm is all that is needed to qualify a pass rather than a fumble.

Should the Bills trust that Tyler Bass will return to form?
BarleyNY replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can’t spell “Bass” without “ass”. -
I believe it was because his arm was still moving forward when the ball came out. But then shouldn't it have been intentional grounding? Or was there an eligible player near him?
