  1. So, you want to ditch an inaccurate QB with poor decision making for a weak-armed, inaccurate QB with poor decision making ability?
  2. Yeah, this was it. It'll be a bit before the Bills are mathematically eliminated, but this was the coffin nail that mattered. 3-4 means they can weather one or maybe two losses in the last 9 games to have a chance at a WC. Two wins against the Jets would almost certainly be a must. With those two games, a game at NE and a home game against Dallas (with a likely healthy Romo) it's a highly improbable road even if they take care of the other 5. I really thought 10-6 and the last WC spot was very realistic, but not anymore. 7 or 8 wins is where they'll likely land.
  3. Nobody's saying he isn't trying. We're saying he isn't any good. It's the NFL, nobody gets a gold star for trying.
  4. Why run Gehrhart 4 times? Why? Nice job by Bills D.
  5. Bottles really is settling in and looking better than he did early. Gonna have to put a stop to that.
  6. The game is still winnable, but EJ is going to have to really minimize his mistakes. I don't have a lot of confidence in him doing that, but I hope he proves me wrong.
  7. Seriously, going in only down 14 at half and with some success on both sides of the ball is a big deal.
  8. You might want to be more specific
  9. The Bills have to keep their heads in the game and play like their playoff chances are on the line - because realistically they are. Anything a fan posts on an Internet forum means nothing.
  10. I think I'm going to turn off the TV and watch on one of those crappy streams now.
  11. Three defenders around the only receiver EJ ever looked at on the play.
  12. He's like a really sh***y Steve McNair.
  13. EJ looking very bad from accuracy and decision-making aspects. That's both speed of and quality of decision-making. Luckily Bortles isn't very good either. The Bills should still take this one. Also it's helping that the Jags are doing a great job of imploding with stupid mental errors and penalties at in opportune times.
  14. EJ continues to be horribly inaccurate. Luckily Bortles doesn't look any better so the Bills should still win this one. It's sad that these are the two QBs we are showcasing to England.
  15. Woods has 297 offensive snaps to Harvin's 240. Maybe not as big of a discrepancy as you'd think. Wood is a decent player. He's certainly not nearly as a special an athlete as Harvin is, but he's dependable. He can be counted on to run his routes properly, be where he's supposed to be, give consistent effort and put the team ahead of himself. None of these things can be said of Harvin. Yes, he can take the top off of a defense and it's easy to look at some of his splash plays and be impressed, but that's just a tease of what he might have been. The talent is there, but the heart and dedication isn't. Look at his history and you'll see it never was. So to be clear when I compare Woods to Harvin I'm comparing a guy with special talent to a guy with very average talent and roughly 25% more snaps. I've called Harvin a lot of things - selfish, overpaid, undedicated - but never useless. He's sure not the kind of player I put on anything but an incentive driven contract. That way if he changes his behavior he'd get paid, but if he were to follow his past pattern he wouldn't be a fiscal liability. Incidentally his cap hit is $4M this year and $2M next due to the contract structure. That's not crippling by any stretch, but it sure doesn't send the message I'd want out there to the team and pissing away cap space is never a good idea - especially with so many more players to re-sign. The Bills aren't in cap hell but they have a lot of money on the books moving forward. They've done a good job re-signing some young talent - and a good job of letting some go. But they have spent some serious dollars recently and have more work to do with Glenn, Gilmore and Bradham. That's going to add up - especially with the going rates for CBs and LTs.
  16. Some issues with your post: One year, $6M isn't all that friendly of a contract - especially if Harvin misses a lot of games. A one year incentive laden deal with a smaller signing bonus and salary would have been a lot more team friendly. You were careful to say he lead all WRs on the team, which is true. He doesn't lead all receivers though as Clay is way ahead of him with 31 catches for 324 yards. Harvin only has 19 for 218. And Woods is only 7 yards behind him with 17 for 211. So, no, Harvin isn't useless, but he has been way overpaid thus far.
  17. One thing to keep in mind: If Harvin retires due to injury issues then the Bills can't recoup any signing bonus money, but if he were to retire for personal reasons they could.
  18. It could mean a lot of things, but that is - by far - the most Pollyanna way to assume the situation is transpiring. It could be: - Just about Harvin getting healthy (as you assume) - Harvin dealing with some personal matters unrelated to football that are interfering with his playing - Harvin taking a powder because he's unhappy with the team/his use/etc. (and it wouldn't be the first time that happened, or the second) - Harvin deciding whether or not his body has had enough of football It really could be any one or multiple ones of those. I suspect that it isn't primarily #1 mainly because there hasn't been any mention of medical evaluations or treatments. The other issue is his track record. He's never put his team ahead of himself and despite many posters thinking his 2 whole months of keeping his mouth shut and suiting up while with the Jets meant he'd changed, some of us weren't convinced. I hoped he could make it through 1 season without the same issues raising their heads because he has so much on the line financially, but here we are in a situation that looks very familiar.
  19. Unfortunately Harvin and Bowe are in the same club. They both got a nice payday and neither really seems to want to play anymore. Bowe clearly does not give the slightest crap anymore. Harvin looks to be heading that way too.
  20. And I learned something here today.
  21. I'm not in love with a lot of what Whaley has done, but judging him on something like that would be ridiculous. Not that some fans won't do it..... Exactly. Win as ugly as you have to, but win. Good teams manage to eek out games like this. If the Bills want playoffs to remain a realistic possibility then they find a way.
  22. Yeah, IK is pretty clearly their MVP right now.
