  1. Stevie Johnson: 10 games, 45 Rec, 497 Yds, 3 TDs, 1 Fum Robert Woods: 14 games, 47 Rec, 552 Yds, 3 TDs, 2 Fum I'm not sure how anyone can say that the first guy listed above sucks and wasn't worth keeping, but the second one deserves to be our #2 WR.
  2. That is scary. Quality TEs are tough to find and I was really hoping the Bills would find a decent (or better) one in the draft. Clay is pretty much it right now. We need one of the other TEs to step up as at least a good blocking TE.
  3. Not a good trade and, yes, we sure could have used him. His contract is very reasonable - 3 years, $10.5M. There may have been some issues we weren't privy to that led to the team parting ways with him, but that staff is gone anyway. He'd sure have helped last year and we could use his services even more this year.
  4. Assume you're talking strictly draft here. I break it up like this: Early round picks - I like a combination of production against NFL quality opposition AND high measurables/metrics overall. There's no reason to favor a work out warrior without production or high producer with questionable measurables early on in the draft. Go for a guy who has both. Mid round picks - I look for quality role players - with upside, if possible. Sometimes scheme-specific starters or quality starters at less important positions can be found here as well. Or even the occasional elite talent with an injury/off the field problem. Late round picks - I favor high metrics/measurable players from smaller schools or lesser programs. Gems can be found sometimes with players who have talent, but never got the coaching they needed to excel. I look for players who've slid for other reasons as well - injury, off the field issues, drastic changes in program, etc. There is fluidity between those breakdowns and there are certainly exceptions, but that is my basic framework.
  5. Good read. Thanks for the link.
  6. I'd go back to the old PI rules. No grabbing after 5 yards, but the hand checks and old school shoving to gain position shouldn't be a penalty.
  7. Also of note, just with Taylor's passing attempts and rushing attempts from TT, Shady and Karlos the Bills would average 71.5 plays a game. That's without another pass or rush from any other player. The highest average number of plays last season for any team was 69.9 (Houston). The Bills had 63.5 (20th). The teams at the top of the list were ones that ran a lot of hurry up offense by design or necessity. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/plays-per-game
  8. To the OP: How can TT have almost 1,100 more yards passing on 141 more attempts, but still have more rushing attempts and yardage than last season? If he settles in and improves as a passer - which he would need to do for that to happen - then he won't be running as much. (I'm also not sure why you expect him to get an extra 85 rushing yards on 2 more attempts.)
  9. If anyone with an extra Stanley cup banner wants to sell please PM me. A Super Bowl banner can be included in the transaction if you wish.
  10. Outstanding
  11. Sometimes people use those types of questions as a way to sum up and confirm someone's meaning. In your first example think of it as him saying "Okay, what you're saying is that you'd like to see the new stadium put in a location that would be more accessible to people living in Rochester, right?" Then the other person can confirm and explain why or move in to something else.
  12. Haven't seen that in ages. It never gets old. Thanks for posting.
  13. Thanks for the heads up in this, Proto. I will check it out.
  14. I did exactly the same thing.
  15. It's entirely possible that the Bills WR corps will include at least one player cut from another team. I'm not making any judgements until I see some preseason games - or at least TC action.
  16. Good to know that refunds can be had from aliexpress companies. My son really wanted the Bills Stanley Cup flag for his room. He's at camp so I'll wait and see what he says when he gets home. Might be hitting you up for one soon.
  17. True. But give your coworkers the benefit of doubt here as any conversation about these events could get very work-inappropriate very quickly. So much senseless violence and killing. Everywhere.
  18. Mine has the Lombardi and Super Bowl on it, too. Farging Sneaky Bastiges!
  19. Yup. The offseason news is almost always fluff, injury or off the field problems. Once in a blue moon you can come across a good, unbiased article with analysis of players or scheme - if you're lucky.
  20. Great idea. Thanks for all of the good work, Rubes!
  21. Bingo. The Bills aren't exactly in a "choosers" position where WRs are concerned. If a better option comes available before week one concludes, then so much the better. If not, then we might be happy to have an Andre Johnson on his last legs.
  22. No, it's probably just an introduction to the NFL at LG for Tunsil. I've seen it before when an existing LT is on his way out. Tunsil should be at LT by no later than next season. Branden Albert is the current LT in Miami. He's an excellent OT, but he's injured a lot. Tunsil will slide to LT if he gets hurt again this season. So unless Tunsil totally busts or gets into off the field trouble expect Albert to be on the trading block next offseason. Please do that immediately.
  23. https://www.brewersassociation.org/statistics/number-of-breweries/ The number of breweries in the US is just surpassing what it was 140 years ago. There were no macrobreweries then, but there was a lot less people too - and even fewer states. Beer is going regional/local and i expect the number of viable breweries to keep increasing for some time to come. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of the big breweries. There has already been some consolidation among them and, while I don't see them all going away, I do see their market share continuing to decline and further consolidation among them.
  24. I remember hearing a story after Hoyer had moved on from the Pats. Apparently he got his helmet mixed up with Brady's and was very surprised when the radio link to the coaches remained connected throughout the play instead of shutting off prior to the snap. Coaches telling him what presnap adjustments to make and where to go with the ball probably helps a lot. I know it's just a rumor, but Belichick and Brady have long lost the benefit of doubt AFAIC.
  25. It'd be nice if the teams and players had to fully fund their own stadiums, but they know they don't have to. The NFL let everyone know the consequences when they let the Browns move. Now Oakland is about to lose the Raiders a second time. If it can happen to those teams, it can happen anywhere. The jump in public assistance for stadiums in the wake of the Browns move was substantial and led us to where we are today. If you want an NFL team in your city, it's going to cost you. It's just the way it is. People in Buffalo need to face reality on the subject.
