Spotrac estimates GR’s market value at $23.2M/season on a 4 year, $92.8M deal. I expect this situation to be similar to Edmunds’. Some team will overpay him if/when he hits FA and I won’t want the Bills to match it. I think if he was okay with staying for less, then it will be done this coming offseason. Same as Edmunds. Edit: meant this coming offseason, not last

Amari Cooper is expected to play on Sunday
BarleyNY replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cooper handles himself as a professional. No surprise he’ll suit up. -
Burke seems to be a favorite of the rich folks and corporations with private planes. There has been talk of closing it for decades, but nothing ever happens. Cleveland would need to repurpose that land and build a land bridge over parts of the shore way to make development of the lakefront work. That’s always seemed like too heavy a lift for the city.
-
The lakeside land the current stadium is on can’t support a stadium with a roof which the Haslams very much want. Also the powers that be in Cleveland won’t develop the lakefront near the stadium and have drug their feet on doing much of anything else. Much like Niagara Falls is always shown for prime time Buffalo games I’m sure they’ll still show the Rock Hall, etc.

Really can’t beat the location of Wingnutz or Elmo’s to UB. Not sure about Elmo’s, but Wingnutz easily has the room to accommodate 16. I would not bother with Amherst Ale House unless you want to sit in small groups at 3 or 4 different tables.

A trade of Garrett is already being speculated about in Cleveland. He will be 29 next month and the Browns might need to blow things up. A lot would depend on return and I would remind people that he’s the reigning DPOY. He wouldn’t be cheap. I thought a Cooper trade out of Cleveland was more likely than not. I’d go the other way on Garrett as of today, but it’s not out of the question as I think things in Cleveland only get worse. Fans are praying that Goodell suspends Watson again so they can void his guarantees and cut him.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
BarleyNY replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it depends on their expectations of Samuel returning to health. If he does, then we have: WR1 Cooper (X) WR2 Shakir (Y/Z) WR3 Samuel (Y/Z) WR4 Coleman WR5 Hollins I am happy with that. If Samuel is expected to be hobbled the whole season, then I’d want the Bills to keep looking at the trade market. It’s easier to find a Y/Z than an X so that would help. -

Amari Cooper gives the Bills a real chance. They had none with the WR corps as it was constructed. It’s nice to not see media and many fans pretend that the chickens**t WR sandwich was really chicken salad. -
I am mot aware of rules regarding the plane of the passer’s arm, only that forward motion of the passer’s arm is all that is needed to qualify a pass rather than a fumble.

Should the Bills trust that Tyler Bass will return to form?
BarleyNY replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can’t spell “Bass” without “ass”. -
I believe it was because his arm was still moving forward when the ball came out. But then shouldn't it have been intentional grounding? Or was there an eligible player near him?

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5764056/2024/09/12/what-is-nfl-concussion-protocol/?source=user_shared_article What happens when a player appears to suffer a head injury? If a team’s medical staff feels any player is at risk of a concussion, it is required to pull the player to the sideline and into the medical tent for a focused neurological exam. The exam includes a cervical spine exam (including range of motion and pain), an evaluation of speech, observation of gait, and an eye movement and pupillary exam. If the player displays signs of loss of consciousness, gross motor inability, confusion or amnesia, team medical staff are not permitted to let the player return to action. Looking at the testing protocol it is easy to see how and why Allen passed the test so quickly. Yes, this is what the NFL and NFLPA agreed on and I have no reason to doubt that Allen was given the test and that he passed it. No, I cannot say whether Allen lost consciousness or was concussed. But what I can say with confidence is that this process is going to result in concussed players being sent back into games. It looks like it’ll catch some bad concussions and it’ll be good PR, but it’s a joke compared to the NHL’s evaluation. The NFL & NFLPA need to fix it.

Then that’s gonna be especially tough to get good return because Samuel is the only one of the three under contract for 2025.

The revisionist history by many is what gives away that it is just people crapping on former players. They prop up players as more than they are while they are here and then they crap on them and make them out to be worse than they are after they go somewhere else. Also it’s common for teams that need to rebuild and have a lot of cap space to overpay to get players. Most HAVE to do that to attract free agents. The Bills did it when they rebuilt, but posters thought that was smart. But to them it is stupid when another team does it. It’s just homers being biased homers.

James Cook Accused Of Running Out On Nightclub tab 🥃
BarleyNY replied to GoBills!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Ouch. I had forgotten that. -
I expect Miller to be cut with a post 6/1 designation this next offseason. I’ve expected that to be the case ever since I first saw his contract. I can see Milano being a cut next offseason too. Two straight seasons mostly lost to injury for a player his age is usually it. This one will hurt. Not Tre White bad, but close. He’s also a good candidate for a post 6/1 designation. Oliver isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. His contract and the need he fills are two big reasons. Knox will likely be here in 2025 because his salary is partially guaranteed. He’d be a difficult cut though he could be traded. I do not think you’d have a lot of takers on that due to his salary though. I highly doubt he’ll be here in 2026 though. I hope to see the Bills ramp up spending next offseason, but that’s up to Pegula. And who they spend on is up to Beane and McDermott. Here is OTC’s calculator if you want to mess around with the numbers: https://overthecap.com/calculator/buffalo-bills

James Cook Accused Of Running Out On Nightclub tab 🥃
BarleyNY replied to GoBills!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
My 18 year old daughter literally laughed out loud when she heard that Cook was at Venu. What is a 25 year old NFL player doing at a place that’s mostly 16, 17 & 18 year olds? For those not familiar, Venu is an 18 & over bar that a lot of under 18 year olds with fake IDs go to. Or at least that is what was explained to me. But the funniest thing about this is the story linked by the OP. It starts out “For many years, Buffalo has been famous for its nightclubs and the number of sports stars who like to party in them.” LMFAO For the record, I have no issue with the mistake Cook made on the tab. He forgot and squared up. No big deal. -
Tyler Lockett could fix this offense
BarleyNY replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really not the worst idea. Same caveat as the other WRs posters here have seriously speculated about - it assumes he becomes available. He plays on the outside, his salary is reasonable to take on and his trade cost wouldn’t be high. He just turned 32 and although he is under contract for next year, it is at a cost I don’t see Seattle, Buffalo or any other team paying him for his 33 year old season. So he’d be a half season rental and it’s possible Seattle will look to get something for him closer to the trade deadline. Just have to wait and see if Seattle keeps sliding and if they want to move him. Same as with Cooper, etc.
