  1. They tried to keep their window for a Super Bowl open probably a bit too long. Then they made some real bad decisions and had some real bad luck. They've been in true Cap Hell, trading or parting ways with some quality players to get under the cap limit.
  2. I think it's more that it's much easier to put up with a someone who runs their mouth when they can back up what they say.
  3. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17546250/rex-ryan-gives-obscenity-laced-speech-inspire-buffalo-bills I didn't see this posted anywhere else. Apparently Rex went off on an obscenity laced speech in the locker room. I can't tell how angry this makes me. Normally I just let something like this roll off my back. I can accept people doing things differently than me and I don't have to like how they do them, but enough is enough. All Rex does is talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. He's like some stupid kid who talks crap to people and keeps getting his ass kicked, but never learns his lesson. He just keeps talking crap and getting his ass kicked. I'm so sick of it. STFU and actually do something, Rex. You're not fooling anyone.
  4. No, the good teams made those adjustments much earlier. The two teams with winning records that the Bills beat last year were the 10-6 Jets (twice) and the 9-7 Texans. I expect that pretty much everybody will be caught up by now. Taylor's going to need to grow, and quickly.
  5. Cover 1/2/3 variants all day until he figures it out. I saw a lot of Cover 2 (though I haven't rewatched the game). I was expecting more Cover 1 (with a key on Watson) and Cover 3. I also want to see how play was used - whether he had to stay in the chip and block and what routes he was sent on.
  6. That's a huge, totally inexcusable problem. I was wondering if it was the Ravens or the Bills keeping Taylor in the pocket. Either way we need to see more of it. Not because it's some sure fire winning strategy, but because we have to force Taylor to sink or swim as primarily a pocket passer. If he can't do it, then they have to part ways with him in the offseason before the big contract dollars kick in. The team has to find out now.
  7. Hochuli and his crew went through a rough patch a few seasons ago, but you won't find a more professional group of refs.
  8. When he played a disciplined defense who game planned for him?
  9. Haven't re-watched yet, but I mentioned Hughes during the game. He really stood out (in a good way).
  10. So sorry I missed this.
  11. What's your condition? Bills fan. Here you go.
  12. His problem would be taking the extra punishment more targets would bring. Not that his injuries have been contact related, but it's not a given that he'd be able to stay healthy with more hits.
  13. These really are the two ways to look at the situation. I'm looking at it this way: Giving up 13 points is certainly indicitive of a defense putting the offense in the position to win the game. But the Ravens were playing the whole game conservatively. It might be a different story when the Bills face a team that has to open it up. I'm not gonna rip the defense by speculating what might've been, but it bears watching.
  14. Was worried about the short week. It's going to hurt if he can't play.
  15. There's defense to consider as well. The Bills had a defense that played much better than Cleveland's did. The Browns lost 29-10, the Bills lost 13-7.
  16. Any word on Glenn?
  17. Check out the Browns. They were worse. That's a horrible qualifier to have to rely on though. I haven't seen much of any other game except Giants v. Cowboys yet. The Bills defense certainly played well enough to win. Giving up only 13 points should equate to a win.
  18. First, thank you for your informed take on this. Always nice to hear from someone with real knowledge on a subject. Henderson's marijuana use predates his Crohn's diagnosis so we know his history is recreational use. He's also been in the NFL's substance abuse program for some time because a 4 game suspension is the penalty for a 3rd violation. There's no excuse for not knowing and following the rules in this case. This is on him and I have to think his NFL career is pretty much over. Whether or not you agree with the NFL marijuana rules (and I don't), they're the rules. If you want to play, you have to follow them - or at least not get caught breaking them.
  19. Some would even say it's THE perfect age. Happy birthday, perfectly aged guy!
  20. No, but something balanced might not be a bad way to go. Theres been some ridiculous stuff from BN. It's fine to point out deficiencies or specific perceived problems. I've sure done that. But the BN isn't being specific or logical, they're taking an unreasonable and hyperbolic tack.
  21. The Buffalo News has been crazily, unfairly negative of late. I totally agree with that. I was speaking to the people who believe that media and fan criticism (fair or unfair) has any impact on how a team or player actually performs. Because that's ridiculous.
  22. No professional player worth their salt would let anything any fan says impact their performance. If a single Bills player is impacted at all by anything any fan or media member says about them I want them off the team today because they are too mentally weak to be of value.
  23. He's VERY fast, but I wouldn't say he is very talented. Being fast sure helps at WR, but (as others have already mentioned in this thread) he needs to show he has the other skills necessary to be a viable NFL WR.
  24. Yup, good calls. Start of the regular season is often the effective deadline for completing a new deal in cases like Gilmore's. His agent has been looking for the best deal for him so I've expected negotiations to go up to the last minute.
  25. I have brought up the same issues with the receiver corps. It's why I wanted them to draft a WR early. Watkins can be a special WR, Woods is a serviceable #2 (although I'd rather have a speedster there to help draw coverage away from Watkins) and then there's not much. The hope is that a speedster can help. The TE corps after Clay is just JAGs. Watkins, Shady, Clay and Tyrod are all going to have to play at a high level and stay relatively healthy. Some other guys are going to have to step up and take advantage of the attention the afore mentioned players get from defenses.
