  1. Everything wrong with the officiating on this play stemmed from the lack of an early whistle. I rewatched and there is not an audible whistle until after Sherman hit Carp. You can't call a penalty on him if that was the case. The refs called an unabated penalty which was an immediate indication that they knew they should have blown the whistle early. Carp gave a good soccer dive, but Sherman didn't hit him hard. The side view showed that he clipped him across the thighs. It looked a lot worse live and from the front.
  2. That's a lot of wrong information. The Browns had the largest scouting dept in the NFL prior to letting some of their scouts go. They now have an average sized dept. The released scouts had varied opinions of Wentz, as did the retained scouts. You are right that they preferred Goff. RG3 was a shot in the dark. They're still looking for their QB, although Kessler is surprising. Currently he's the second rated rookie QB behind Dak Prescott. The Browns signed a young kicker who has been to a Pro Bowl in Parker. You think they should have taken a 34 year kicker over him? He missed 3 of 6 FGs in his first game, but he hadn't even had a chance to practice with the squad before that game. He's made 11 of 12 since. Looks like the right long term move. Collins is one of the top ILBs in the league and they got him for their 3rd round comp pick. They've got plenty of cap space to sign him long term, as well as the franchise tag. And if they don't they'll get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick back. How's that a bad move? Hue Jackson is a better coach than Rex Ryan. I still wish Pegula had hired him and kept Schwartz. The Bills would be a better team. The Browns have very little talent, but they haven't given up and they've kept a lot of games close. If that FO uses their stockpiled picks wisely they'll be very competitive in a couple seasons. They did a complete tear down so it'll take time.
  3. Well coached teams do no deviate from their game plan so easily. The Steelers were impressive in this regard when they were focused on running the ball during part of Cowher's tenure. They'd get down by 2 or 3 scores in a game, but would continue to pound the ball. Usually they'd wear down the opposing defense and come back. That's who Miami reminded me of when they were down to the Bills 17-6 and came out running.
  4. Agreed. Truly outstanding work there.
  5. Wow. TB just gave ATL a 41 yard FG instead of backing them up 15 yards and giving them a 3rd and 22.
  6. His recent decisions have been disappointing to say the least. He is an absolute stud when in shape, motivated and on the field, but we haven't seen that this season.
  7. Ah, the sweetest words in the English language: "Not yet mathematically eliminated."
  8. Yup. That was my first thought too.
  9. Fair enough. Maybe things get dialed in and they have 8+ more good games. Or maybe it just works against the mediocre and poor teams while the better teams can expose them. The situation certainly bears watching closely. I'd love to see some stats too. I'll be paying attention the rest of the way. Maybe I'll even keep track and post what I find.
  10. Taken together these tell an importent story. Sacks are being generated by blitzes and leaving Gilmore and Darby on islands. It's how the Ryans do things.
  11. I was certain Lawson would take nearly the whole season to heal and get on the field.
  12. Really think we beat the Bengals as we're coming off our bye. Hell, Cincy is coming off a Monday night game. That's a huge advantage.
  13. Looking at his contract Tyrod has huge guarantees - $40.5M in total - that kick in on the 3rd day of the next league year when his option is due. $15.5M option bonus, $12M guaranteed salary in 2017 and $13M of his 2018 salary becomes guaranteed. He's going to be kept at least two more seasons unless the team moves on after this one. There are a few options in that situation. In the unlikely event that a better option at QB can be found in the first couple days of free agency, then the Bills can move on without being on the hook for any additional cap or money hit. Or they could commit to keeping Tyrod for the next two seasons as a bridge while they try to find the long term answer. Lastly, if Rex and Whaley are fired (also unlikely at this point IMO) then I see the team moving on from Taylor. A new coach and GM are going to want to find their guy and keeping Taylor on the team would cause too much controversy.
  14. Great work here, Bobby! Thanks for your work.
  15. So.....the 3-5 Jets are going to want to trade a DL who has a cheap contract this season and an option year in 2017 for a CB halfway through his option year? Within their division. What sense does that make at all?
  16. Just to clarify my position, I don't think there's any conspiracy against Cam. I just think he's not getting the special treatment a handful of others are getting.
  17. Some stars seem to matter a lot more than others, especially if they play for a certain teams. Cam is right. He isn't being protected like some other QBs. He's not alone in that, but he's probably the biggest "name" that doesn't get calls. I've really given up on expecting officiating to be fair. I'm not blaming the officials either. It's not difficult for a league to make officials aware that certain money-making players need to be protected. The NBA sure does that. No one wants Lebron on the bench at the end of the game because he fouled out. I'm not sure why Cam isn't on the NFL list though. Maybe he pissed off the wrong league official.
  18. Refs know how to protect certain star players. QBs are the most obvious, but other positions get it too. Just watch Antonio Brown repeatedly push off on his routes. Never a flag. Now have Robert Woods try that.
  19. Damn. That's rough. Hope you got something worthwhile for the Bills win in the first meeting.
  20. Bummer. That really sucks Mango. That shouldn't happen anywhere. Don't ever go to Philly to see an Iggles game. What you experienced today at the Ralph would be about the best you could hope for there.
  21. Now someone needs to mock up a video with Whaley throwing it.
  22. Teams talk down injuries all the time to make opponents prepare for all possibilities and to protect their players. Plus many players will hide the severity of injuries so they can stay on the field. The real question is "Was he really close to 100% or was that just posturing by the Bills?" Due to him making his injury worse I have to think he shouldn't have been out there. I'm not pointing my finger at McCoy or the coaches or medical staff since there's no way to know who was responsible. Now we just have to hope he'll be back healthy after the bye.
  23. I'm one of those people. Thanks. Incognito is an excellent guard and I'm glad we signed and re-signed him. I thought it was a good risk when we brought him in and was very, very happy we kept him at the price we did. But he's has always been an immature moron. This is yet another example of his childish stupidity. The fact that he's talking s**t after the team got its ass handed to them makes it even worse.
