  1. I'd pop it in sometimes. If it wasn't interesting I'd keep it one, if it wasn't I wouldn't. But I always liked that it was there. I'll miss it being there.
  2. Typically this would be a one year contract with an option. If the option expires without being picked up, then it's simply a one year contract that ended. A comp pick is in play. However, if the contract is worded so that he must be cut or the option automatically kicks in, then that's a different story. He'd need to be cut and the Bills would not get a comp pick. But that'd be very unusual.
  3. He's already eyeing his next move. He's a mercenary.
  4. I'll take the talent that comes with production rather than the talent that doesn't. You can have the "what ifs".
  5. This. $18.75M is way too much to eat to gain a better draft pick than what we'd get as a comp.
  6. Agree and agree. Re-signing Zach is now a big priority, as is re-signing or replacing Gilmore. I still see Ragland as a 2 down LB. With the nickel and dime packages being played so much I don't see him as a good fit except on rushing downs. That probably won't equal longevity.
  7. Oh yeah there are. No salary cap for coaches. It's a great place for a free spending owner to go nuts.
  8. Gilmore. He didn't do great on an island under Rex (although he did a lot better than most give him credit for), but McDermott is a zone guy. He should be back to form under him.
  9. Agreed. Haley is a guy I want nothing to do with. He's even a worse person than he is a coach.
  10. Lotta people here in B-lo called this exact scenario (if half jokingly). F Marrone.
  11. God, no. Myles Garrett will almost certainly go #1. Jonathan Allen is the only other player that could possibly go 1 overall.
  12. Those Bang!Cartoons were awesome. I miss those, too. Banner took over running the Browns and the first things he did were to bring back in Mike Lombardi, who was one of the most hated front office people in the history of the team, and end the team's partnership with the Cleveland Clinic. He is a train wreck and he desperately wants back in the NFL.
  13. Just the same excuses. Sammy might very well be every bit the WR OBJ is if the cards fell differently. But so far he hasn't proved it and ODB has. It's sad seeing people contort themselves like a Bulgarian gymnast to get themselves to believe differently. Sammy will be better than OBJ when he proves he is.
  14. You people crack me up OBJ: 288 receptions for 4,122 yards and 35 TDs Watkins: 153 receptions for 2,459 yards and 17 TDs
  15. Of the 4 QBs, yes. If Josh Allen comes out then it's probably him then Trubisky. In any event, all of these QBs are projects. One or two will probably go top10, but none probably should.
  16. On those points I definitely agree.
  17. Untrue, except maybe I was a little dramatic. Still, coaches want to win every game for themselves and their players. Every game matters and every one goes on a coach's record. You thinking Rex sees it differently?
  18. What would Joe Banner know about that?
  19. I'm not assuming the Pegulas will be great owners - and I never said they would or wouldn't. What I responded to was directly comparing them after two years of ownership to Dan Snyder, which is unbelievably ridiculous.
  20. Could be trying to allay questions from HC candidates about the Taylor benching. I'm sure all of them want assurances that such things wouldn't happen if they were to become HC here. Every win is precious to an NFL HC. Even a loss that helps or protects the organization. Even a loss the last game of a lost season. That L still goes on the coach's record and resume. It's still a loss for the coaches and his players. While I agree that benching Taylor was necessary to protect the team, it's something that needs to be appropriately addressed with candidates.
  21. It's weird that nothing in the article supports the article's title. Am I missing it? "Here's what happened with the Rex firing and here's what's going on with the coaching search" would've been more accurate. Other than the misleading title, it's a good synopsis of what we've already heard.
  22. http://trib.com/sports/college/wyoming/football/bleacher-report-nfl-draft-lead-writer-matt-miller-discusses-josh/article_969ac113-2bd5-5921-8ca4-7f63bb5a95b3.html This is mostly on Josh Allen, but also is a general discussion about the college/draft landscape and the QB class this season and next. It's worth a read. Rumors are growing that Allen will come out. If he does, then he could easily be the first QB taken. If you're a Trubisky (or Kizer, or Mahomes, or Watson, etc.) fan, then that's good news because everyone else could get pushed down in the draft. I'm not sold on Allen by any stretch. I see the Wentz comparisons myself, and that's concerning, but it's just such an interesting year for QBs. So many out there, all needing grooming and the right system and development. So much to look at and so much that could go wrong for any or all of them. It'll be cool to see the processes and watch the guy(s) who turn out right and make it. There's a lot to be learned from what's about to transpire.
  23. Or just keep trading away all of your goalies who are any good.
  24. I don't think 2 seasons is close unless there's some really bad stuff coming out about how he operates. To compare Pegula to Dan Snyder after two seasons is freaking ridiculous. Hell, Dan Snyder isn't even Dan Snyder anymore. He's even dialed it back quite a bit. There's got to be a reasonable expectation of a learning curve for Pegula. I think he initially handled Marrone and Whaley correctly when he bought the team. He wanted them to prove themselves before extending them. Whaley was good with that, Marrone wasn't. I think that's why Whaley gets this chance. I can understand it even if I'd have moved on from him. He brought in Rex after Marrone bailed. I can see that too. I wasn't in interviews, but the talent on defense was stacked and Rex had had so much success on that side of the ball I see where it would look like a great match. I thought it would be initially. I had no idea that Rex could be so irretrievably stupid and inflexible with his scheme. Pegula dropped him after two seasons and I applaud him for it. He didn't let that travesty continue. So Pegula came in with a need for a HC and QB. In two seasons he tried to find his HC in Rex. Rex brought in Tyrod to be the QB. Neither worked out. The three most important people in the building after the owner are HC, GM and QB (in whatever order you want to put them in). They're also the most difficult to find. Pegula and the Bills are on their second shot at two of those and still on their first of one. That's not a pattern. Bills fans are just so frustrated with the mediocrity and sub-mediocrity of the team for so many years they are taking it out on the guy who just got here. I'm sure what's been going on with the Pegula owned Sabres isn't helping, but I gotta be honest there - the tank was the right thing to do.
  25. Wow. Stupid post. Pegula has owned the Bills for what, 2 years? Seriously?
