  1. And if our concerns are in the manner the team is being torn down and rebuilt? Because that’s exactly where i am.
  2. We’re going to find out how much her going away permanently is worth to Shady.
  3. It was a stupid thing to say. It’s a bad look in general and something that would obviously lead to the tweets and other comments that we’ve seen from the media. McD has to be smarter than that. I’ll give him the benefit of doubt that he really didn’t mean it that way.
  4. BTW the deadline for 5th year options for 2019 has passed and the Raiders did pick up Cooper’s.
  5. Cooper is a solid option, obviously depending on compensation to the Raiders and contract-wise. The only thing I have to add to Yolo is that the cash flow issues the Raiders have won’t be resolved before moving to Vegas so they may be more willing to trade him than if the move was a year earlier.
  6. I actually rewatched one of those plays so I could explain what was happening to my son. Allen had a clean pocket with room to slide forward, but unnecessarily chose to bail to the side. That allowed the DE to disengage from the OT and chase.
  7. Some QBs can be ruined. If a kid comes into the league with sound mechanics and a good handle on the mental side of the game, then it’s almost impossible to ruin him. Getting him badly injured is about it. But a QB who needs work on mechanics and/or has trouble with processing progressions, reading defenses, etc. then that player needs to sit and correct all of that before playing meaningful minutes. Allen needs corrections/improvements on both. Id much rather he work on mechanics relating to his accuracy and learn the mental side of the game for a year. That’s not in the cards obviously, so he’s got an uphill battle.
  8. I notice that Cleveland is second on the list. Both teams made a change at QB from one with a lesser arm to one with a stronger arm (much more so with Allen). In addition to the change in velocity of the throws the WRs have to adjust to the new QBs haven’t had much of a (any?) chance to work with them. Things should get better with practice.
  9. Shout out to Harrison Phillips for his play. PFF has both him and Allen as honorable mentions on their top 10 rookie list. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2018-nfl-rookie-rankings-through-week-3 https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/harrison-phillips/48690
  10. Wow! That’d be freaking crazy.
  11. They were probably trying to avoid a Bell situation. The Steelers are going to get a 3rd round comp pick at most for Bell. The Raiders got two firsts for Mack. Bell was around for some real shots at a SB for Pittsburgh. Realistically the Raiders weren’t going to be going to the SB with or without Mack.
  12. Not exactly sure but don’t forget that Davis is one of the few owners whose main business is his football team. The Raiders have the lowest revenue of any NFL team and Mack got $87M guaranteed. Plus there’s the publicly available info from Green Bay. Shouldn’t be too tough to figure out. https://www.statista.com/statistics/193553/revenue-of-national-football-league-teams-in-2010/
  13. I heard something interesting on that today when a radio personality referenced Joe Thomas’ podcast. Thomas figures out that the Raiders literally could not afford Mack’s contract. There is a CBA rule that requires all unpaid guaranteed money in a contract be put in escrow at the time of signing. Davis is cash poor and doesn’t have that kind of cash.
  14. We could sure use him, but I’m sure the QB situations of the Bills and Rams played a big part in which team he signed with. He’s replaceable enough that I wouldn’t have wanted to have overpaid for him. If Allen shows he’s the real deal this season we should have a much easier time filling out our offensive need positions. It might take awhile, but I’ll go more smoothly and at reasonable rates.
  15. Woods is right where he should be - the third WR in a quality WR corps.
  16. I don't attend many games, but when I do go I like to have some beers and food beforehand. The next four hours is a nice sobering up period before driving. No DUI risk and economical.
  17. My first thought after “hey that’s really good idea” is that it’ll be a really convenient way to stage beers for after the cutoff. The internet is going to break in the 5 minutes leading up to it. Order, take a leak, pick up food/beer. Makes a lot of sense.
  18. It’s called negotiating. Dorsey is trying to get as much as possible for him by creating an impression of value. They won’t get back what they gave up tho.
  19. To be precise Mayfield measured 6’ 0-5/8” at the combine. Drew Brees measured 6’0-3/10” tall. There’s an interesting video from Browns training camp that show Mayfield practicing throwing from his toes. It was noted that this is exactly what Brees does.
  20. Great breakdown of huge difference in play between Mayfield and Taylor discussed here.
  21. Really interesting analysis of how Taylor looked versus Mayfield in the same game. Night and day. Looking for something like this for Allen.

  22. I don’t think that’s be an issue. Dez would want a 1 year deal so he could get a better deal next season.
  23. Then Dez is a good choice. He’d just cost cash/cap and it could be a heavily incentivized contract.
  24. Think it was because it looked exactly the same as if he’d dropped the ball. There was no forward arm motion that I could see. He just released it with his hand. The intent was a shovel pass but you can’t go by intent. If he had just dropped it, it would’ve looked exactly the same. Guessing that was it. I actually thought it was a fair call for that reason.
  25. Really happy with his performance and I’ll say the same of Allen that I did of Mayfield. Lots to like but still some concerns. It's early but the early returns are looking good.
