  1. He may not last, but some network will try it
  2. Move heard that his kids have strongly encouraged him to keep playing and it’s a big reason he’s done so. Gottta call it at some point and he’s gotta be thinking about walking away from the game and into that life you mentioned while he still can. Also you know he’s going to be in a booth and that’ll pay pretty well too.
  3. It’s between Parker and Benjamin. I’ll give the nod to Parker at this time. Edelman is third, but he’ll likely produce more because of Brady. Pryor didn’t really develop last season, but he’d be my wildcard.
  4. Awhile back a poster mentioned that a friend who works in an NFL FO told him that sometimes teams will make a trade like this as a favor. Team A trades a relatively highly drafted player who busted to Team B for a conditional pick. Team B then cuts the player. This is just a way to avoid the headline of the Jets cutting Hackenburg.
  5. Yeah. It does make sense when you think about it. They used some of their collective capital to cut back practice and lessen the wear and tear on their bodies.
  6. The high pay is due to the revenue and profits of the league. The players that provide the product sold have a union, but it’s the weakest union of the 3 major sports and the CBA reflects that. You are correct that there really is no side to pick as the rules have been agreed upon. In this case a team broke one and a fine has been levied.
  7. I used to not be able to one unassisted. I started with a leg on a chair. Then I did what I could unassisted and finished the set assisted. Now 3 sets of 10 unassisted is in my workout. I actually surprised myself getting this far.
  8. Totally agree. Tons of other issues too. Although I’d consider going along with the OP if the returned money went to the fans who spent money on tickets, jerseys, etc.
  9. http://www.profootballhof.com/photos/gallery/hall-of-fame-rbs/ There’s a link to current HOF RBs. I agree with those who say he’s not there yet, but could certainly make it if he finishes his career strong. Right now he’s on the outside looking in with the likes of Steven Jackson, Fred Taylor and Corey Dillon.
  10. Maybe he was angry that people in the media were reporting that he’d already signed when negotiations were still ongoing. Those reports could cause the other teams he’s negotiating with to pull back and he’d lose his leverage. In short, he was pissed because he thought those reports would cost him money.
  11. Funny thing is that I saw the Bills draft the same way as PFF did. They made a lot of high risk/high reward picks on talented players who haven’t developed yet (as compared to other college prospects). They even talked about the tremendous upside potential of the players we picked and, how if they all hit, what an incredible draft it would be. I’d have taken different players - as the PFF guys would have - but we both can see the potential of the players taken by the Bills.
  12. Not his job to try to figure out whether or not the kid was lying. And it sure as hell isn’t his job to try to protect a kid from his own actions even if he suspects dishonesty. The kid said his grandfather was sick and he asked about him. Totally reasonable and, quite frankly, the right thing to do if the kid had been telling the truth. Enabling someone like that will not help them.
  13. Yup. Not a jerk move at all. You simply took him at his word and acted accordingly. Nothing wrong with that in the least.
  14. Even if Allen wins the starting job in camp I’m not judging him this season unless his performance is stellar. I sure wouldn’t expect that. I’d expect a bumpy road (with signs of growth) until probably year 3. Patience.
  15. The Bills were lucky to have made the playoffs last season. They were in a pool of teams in the mediocre to slightly above average range. One or two of those teams have to make the playoffs along with the dominant ones. This year we got lucky and did enough to make it. Of course over the length of the playoff drought we had more than our share of bad luck in this regard. Statistically we should’ve made the playoffs 2 or 3 times over that span. The Bills certainly fielded more talented teams over that stretch. The best aspect of breaking the drought is that it’s going to give this regime some capital with the fans. They can take a step back and build this team they way they want it.
  16. That was fantastic. Thank you.
  17. Absolutely. He’s not a fit for TT at all. His game needs a QB with anticipation, accuracy and timing. He’ll founder until Mayfield hits the field, then it’ll depend on Mayfield. Baker’s skill set is right in line with Landry’s so if he’s the real deal they could be stellar with a clean Gordon. Lots has to happen though. I will reserve judgement until Mayfield gets rolling.
  18. An NFL team is going to give a 34 year old OG with chronic behavioral issues a decent long term deal?
  19. They asked him to take a pay cut and gave him a signing bonus as part of that. That’s not uncommon for a 34 year old player and I certainly wouldn’t call it jerking him around. He agreed, took the signing bonus and then retired without so much as even attending one practice or off season workout. That is an extremely rare, if not unprecedented, situation and one I’d definitely classify as him jerking the Bills around. Especially with the request for release so he could potentially play elsewhere and Twitter BS. Usually that’s true with signing bonuses, but this would be a bad faith situation. They can be recouped in such situations.
  20. Perhaps this was part of a deal where the Bills recouped the signing bonus they just paid him. That’d make sense. He could fight having to return it, but would likely lose that battle.
  21. Sure, but it wasn’t like he hasn’t been a problem literally everywhere he’s played football going back through both of his college teams. His first stint in Buffalo was the only one that wasn’t marred by misbehavior. What owner or GM really wants to take that chance on a guy at the end of his career who might be a problem and/or create problems in the locker room?
  22. Agreed. I thought the same thing about him. The other issue I had with him was his size and style of play though. His injury last season might be a sign of things to come so I’ll leave the jury out on him. Still, he did better than I thought he would.
  23. Jake Locker. Thought he’d be fantastic. He didn’t totally bust, but he wasn’t anything great - and the realities of the game did not jibe with his Christian values so he walked away early.
  24. Agreed. There are a lot of scouting reports out there that are not at all complimentary of Allen. It’s nice to see that someone loved him and thought he was the #1 QB prospect before we drafted him.
  25. I didn’t see them a lot, but always had good experiences. All of them were on visits from Korea so they spoke very little English. They worked on a lot of grips, joint locks and moves where we would use our opponents momentum against them. Makes sense since we were in a TKD school and it gave us a bit of a different flavor. They all had phenomenal hand strength and were excellent with them.
