  1. You’re going to have to be more specific
  2. The difference between keeping or ridding ourselves of Clay before the 2019 season is $4.5M. For that they may as well keep him - unless there is youth that forces him out or he starts to struggle.
  3. I’m a fan of moving predictions. You make your initial prediction and then carefully and constantly revise it as new information comes in. As of today the Bills 2018 season looks pretty bleak. OL, QB, WR, pass rush (outside of Hughes) and CB (outside of White) are all big concerns individually, but collectively point to a very poor season ahead. But that’s not definitive. Any of those players or groups of players could surprise or gel. If/when I see that I’ll revise my expectations. Not before. I’m a “show me” guy. I only give credit when it’s earned.
  4. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2792785-are-the-buffalo-bills-already-the-nfls-worst-team Are the Buffalo Bills Already the NFL's Worst Team? Read at your own risk. One caveat: I sort of know the writer and he’s a good guy who has no grudge against the Bills. He’s calling it like he sees it. Now flame away at him.
  5. Not to nitpick but NP played college ball at Tennessee before transferring to Pitt.
  6. Not so sure about that. He’s been paid large already and he’s only on the books for $4.5M each this year and next. Hopefully he’ll be trying to earn a nice new one from his next team and not phoning it in. That’s always a risk with front loaded deals like his though. Another Whaley special.
  7. Allen is holding the ball too long. Peterman isn’t a perfect QB by any stretch, but he’s been decisive with the ball in all 3 ps games. He’s started and played with the second and third teams just like Allen and McCarron have so take the supporting cast argument away. NP doesn’t have the strongest arm and he’s going to make some mistakes, but he’s far and away a better option than Allen is at this time. McCarron is too for that matter.
  8. Jeebus, no. He’s got the 3rd largest total contract for a RB (4th by yearly average) and he’s constantly referred to as our best offensive player. Incidentally he was 4th in rushing yards and 4th in yards from scrimmage among RBs. How, exactly, is that under appreciated? Seems to me like he’s exactly properly appreciated.
  9. Wow. That’s disheartening. Rob Ryan is an idiot. I’d much rather that he hate him.
  10. Whenni was a kid I dreamed of playing two positions: Safety and RB. I so wanted to be a punishing safety laying out crossing WRs, RBs and QBs (via blitz). A close second was to be a punishing running back running over such safeties, LBs, etc. Never a QB, CB or WR. Now where’s the fun in being either kind of player? Safeties can’t play that way and RBs who do don’t last. Sigh.
  11. It would not apply. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81c8823a/article/leagues-official-player-safety-rules 3. "Blindside" Block. It is an illegal "blindside" block if the initial force of the contact by a blocker's helmet (including facemask), forearm, or shoulder is to the head or neck area of an opponent when the blocker is moving toward his own endline and approaches his opponent from behind or from the side.
  12. I want to clarify that you found a recent modification to the rule which looks like it has to do with the positioning of he offensive player. It wouldn’t apply in this case. Here’s an explanation of what a crackback is and when it is illegal: https://www.sportingcharts.com/dictionary/nfl/crackback-block.aspx What is Crackback Block? An offensive strategy in which a player spread out wide near the sideline will run back towards the ball at the snap in order to seal off a defender from the wide side and open up the field for a runner. A crackback block is illegal if contact is made below the waist, and can be assessed a fifteen yard penalty. Crackback blocks are most useful on plays meant to get around the edge of the defense and gain yardage. That would make this block legal because he got him in the body. He hit AW in the head so that was a different story.
  13. I love GLBC and hung out there a lot when I lived in Cleveland. Quality beer and food. I’ve always loved the beer cheese soup there. It is in the Ohio City neighborhood and there are other good bars & restaurants there. Ditto the Warehouse District and Tremont areas. If you’re a food lover then check out the West Side Market On Saturday before you head home. Bring a cooler. It’s right by the GLBC on the corner of W 25th and Lorain.
  14. Stillers are the division winner with no real competition.
  15. I've never been to Europe, or set foot on any continent besides N America.
  16. If a team’s lineup is set and they’re already working well together, then there’s no reason to show plays or risk injury to starters. Just let the 2nd and 3rd teamers fight it out for spots. The Bills surely aren’t there now, but they were in the SB years.
  17. You can never tell if a teamn is going to be really good during the preseason, but sometimes you can tell that they’re going to be really bad. Coaches of really bad teams do sometimes try to give their team confidence by making sure they win in the preseason.
  18. Incredible. I can’t believe there’s a mall that someone actually wants to go to.
  19. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/oakland-raiders/khalil-mack-14414/market-value/ Lets get down and dirty here. We’d be talking draft compensation as well as a very large contract. Spotrac estimates his value at about $18.3M per season. So we’d be looking at 5 years, $91.5M. Plus our 2019 1st rounder. Plus more. Personally, I’m still in at this point. Add our 3rd and 5th? Yes. Our 2nd? I don’t think so. How much more would you go? Note: I really don’t think the Raiders are going to trade him.
  20. Did some digging after I saw a poster mention that CC wasn’t running routes well in practice. (Sorry, can’t find the post.). Word is that he is not only terrible at his routes he’s also not understanding the other aspects of the WR position. He couldn’t be counted on to be where he was supposed to be on the field and it wasn’t getting better so they dumped him. Still, for the Bills it’s so low risk that even in light of this information I have no problem with the trade. Edited to add: There was no mention of any off the field problems with him.
  21. Truly an excellent speed WR except that he hasn’t been able to stay healthy or catch the ball. I’m not being snarky here. His speed and elusiveness are top shelf. Im sure taking a shot with him was worth whatever late pick the Bills gave up.
