  1. Wow. That sucks. Drafting him remotely highly would scare the ? out of me now. If he’s there with our pick in the second I don’t think I pull the trigger. Yes in the third.
  2. The Bills have certainly improved their QB situation dramatically. It is better than it’s been in a long time, but let’s not overstate it. Allen has talent and potential, but he’s not a proven franchise QB - not yet anyway. Any team with one of those is better set up regardless of who the backups are. I like Barkley as the #2 but I’m not sure if Anderson even makes the final roster. There are plenty of people that can be a veteran mentor that you never want to see the field.
  3. It’s no surprise. No NFL position group’s success relies more on working as a cohesive unit than the OL. The current CBA ppreduced the number of training camp practices and number of practices with contact. Long term stability if scheme and OL players is even more important now than it was. The sooner the Bills set their OL the better off they’ll be. This is also true
  4. Caplan is wrong or at least misleading here. I remember that the Browns bailed out of negotiations while the Bills were still negotiating against themselves. He may be right that the total dollars offered were more, but no way were guaranteed dollars close. The guaranteed dollars and structure of the contract made me hate it from day 1. There was almost no way for Clay to ever live up to it and it offered the team no protection against injury or lack of continued effort. While his effort was never at issue, injuries certainly robbed Clay of his athleticism. That was on Whaley.
  5. Unicorns are the only things ninjas can’t sneak up on. Unicorn. Outstanding poll btw
  6. The combination of quitting on his team and continued horrible personal conduct off the field make him a firm NO for me. He bagged on the last practice before their week 17 game and then the game itself minutes before kickoff. This was while they were fighting for a playoff spot. Then there is the well documented off the field garbage, including the latest DV incident on which he’s still awaiting a possible league suspension. The only real positive here besides his level of play - should he decide to actually take the field - is that he will cost very little in trade compensation.
  7. I agree except that I don’t think the Bills are there yet. A year from now if we just got through a more successful season (wildcard playoff spot, maybe even a win), Allen has proven himself and it looks to the world that the Bills are trending up, then yes. That’s when you add someone like him. And that’s when someone like him would be interested. Someone mentioned the Raiders. I can’t see him wanting to play on that train wreck. If he does, then I wouldn’t want him. Cleveland is a better bet IF he’s moved. He’s tight with Landry, who is selling him on what is happening there. And he’s making other friends like Mayfield. Of course the same case as above could be made regarding them.
  8. Flacco has zero guaranteed dolllars left on his contract. It did have $44M in guarantees but those have already been paid out. That’s probably what you saw. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/denver-broncos/joe-flacco-4000/
  9. Are you comparing Fitz last season to what he was in his prime? Maybe you want Andre Reed backnon the Bills next season? Guess what? Fitz was a phenomenal WR who played last season at 35 years old. It’s a testament to his skill and dedication that he’s still playing, but he wouldn’t start on a team with a decent WR corps anymore.
  10. Fitz was 50th in receiving yards. Say Jones was 63rd. He had 78 more yards. Wow. The Cardinals has 11 offensive linemen play at least 100 snaps and only one - their rookie center played 600. He also got injured. They were a lot worse - and it wasn’t close.
  11. Not true. Rosen’s OL was the worst in the NFL. His only viable WR was Fitz who isn’t close to what he used to be. Yes, I know that Allen had a poor OL and WR corps, but it wasn’t worse than Rosen’s.
  12. Might just be to lock him up for a bit if he returns to form. If they didn’t give him much in the way of a signing bonus or guaranteed money then the three years are not a problem if they cut him.
  13. Yet another free agent signing gone awry. Spencer Long was always solid on the interior for the Redskins after he was third-round pick back in 2014. So far in New York, however, he’s been disastrous. His 14 pressures allowed are more than he gave up in either of the past two seasons, and his 45.5 run-blocking grade doesn’t look much better. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2018-nfl-offensive-line-rankings-all-32-teams-units-after-week-9 You have to wonder why he dropped off. Scheme is one reason why. Playing through injury is another. I hope that’s it is one of those and that he’s healthy and a better fit here. It also happens when players stop using PEDs or just get lazy. I’m not insinuating it’s either of those, only that they round out the top reasons for a drop off this early in a career. Here’s hoping we got some help.
  14. Enter the NYC media..... Should be entertaining for non-Jest fans at least.
  15. I sign him to this today as insurance. Then I try to find an upgrade when FA starts - or in the draft if that fails. He can pass block so at minimum I know he can keep Allen upright. Still I can’t help but wonder why he isn’t at LG. Seems like it’d be a much better fit for a guy who can pass block way better than he can run block. If he doesn’t sign it then I’m looking elsewhere in FA.
  16. FYI: Minimum cap numbers are calculated with cash spent in that season. You can't look at available cap space or rollover dollars. The Bills will not be in danger of being below the threshold in 2019.
  17. Theres great livings to be made by separating stupid people with too damn much money from some of it. I went to a few of these stores when I was in Chicago last year. We went to Louis Vatton because my daughter wanted to look at backpacks. There was zero chance she’d be getting one, but I let her look. The clothes, etc. were nothing special. The largest backpack was not big and the small and medium weren’t even big enough to be functional. Basically the merchandise there were all just uber expensive billboards for their logo. A way for people to show off by telling the world “Hey, look what I can afford!” It was shameful. I felt dirty. On the original subject of the sweater my first two thoughts were that it looked both incredibly stupid and pretty racist.
  18. Not wife. Baby mama. Also arguing.not an issue. Should’ve called the cops to remove her from his home and charge her with trespassing. Can’t shove her out the door and down to the ground. He can protect himself and his daughter if necessary, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
  19. Injuries have robbed him of quality play. He used to be good at all facets of TE play, but not great at any single one. He'd have been a perfect TE2, but he is not that player anymore.
  20. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2814967-the-1-prospect-each-nfl-team-needs-to-grab-in-the-2019-draft#slide0 Brent Sobieski from the Bleacher Report agrees with you. So do I.
  21. Here’s a recent Spotrac article on players that could make sense for teams to part ways with. Some Bills in there. Definitely some that could help. https://www.spotrac.com/research/nfl/potential-2019-nfl-roster-bubbles-819/
  22. That's what contract guarantees are for. I guess the Dolphins aren't as clueless as I thought. Tanking is exactly what they should do. Now let's wait and see if they have the patience to do it right.
  23. Perfect excuse to tell her friends for why she doesn’t work out anymore.
  24. If that. He made over $57M for his 13 years in the league. If he comes back to coach it’ll be solely because that’s what he wants to do with his life.
  25. That $6.5M guarantee has offsets too. That means that if the Jags cut him and he signs elsewhere then the amount he’s paid in 2019 is deducted from that. Even as a backup he’d make more than $6.5M so there’s no Osweiler type deal to be done here. That only happened because of the salary guarantees in his contract.
