Is anybody else having anxiety about game one?

Honestly, I don’t like the talent matchup with the Jest. It seems like they are strong in ways that should make things difficult for us. But they also have some very suspect coaching. I’m not a believer in Gase or Greggg. Seriously, other than Wrex he might have the worst defensive scheme in the NFL. So I am torn on this game. It really could go either way. I certainly wouldn’t bet money on it. -
Any All-Pro Bills this year?
BarleyNY replied to Drunken Pygmy Goat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much this. Hyde has a shot. White has a shot but in a more crowded field. That’s pretty much it. If Edmunds does take a big step forward, then he’ll be looked at more closely and have a chance in future seasons. Seems like players need to get on the radar first by proving themselves and then they can be chosen if they have a stellar season. -
If Bills Games Become Too Expensive, Will You Switch Teams?
BarleyNY replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jeebus. After everything you have lived through as a Bills fan, an increase in the price of going to one game a year is what’s going to end your fandom of the Bills? Wow. ? I root for both the Bills (where I live now) and the Browns (where I grew up). There have been some very dark days as a Browns fan. I’ve checked out for a bit while they were embarrassingly putrid. I gave up my season tickets and PSLs. But I never quit the team. -
Miami trading for Clowney seems very much like when Buffalo signed Mario. Acquiring an elite Edge is not a bad way to start a rebuild. Something yet to be discussed is that if the report that Houston is trying to get a second are true, then BoB effed up here. They could’ve gotten much more - a first plus more - for Clowney if they had traded him while he was still allowed to sign a multi year deal. That’s a big mistake.
-
When you look very closely, the NFL has a lot of dirt and blood hidden to go along with some pretty frightening skeletons in their closet. I wish I didn’t love football so much and could just quit it.

Report: Dolphins shopping entire team

Truth I am listening......... -
From what I’ve heard, $200 an hour will get you a lot more than that from Fergy

Yup. I wonder if he’d come back to the Texans under an agreement that they won’t tag him next year? Seems like they’re running out of options unless they want to see him for six games this year and then go through this all again next offseason.
-
I agree. He’s running the whole show now. No one else left to blame if things go south. If he trades Clowney for less than his fired GM had offers for, that’d be another strike against him.
-
Yeah. I don’t get thinking Lynn’s job might be in jeopardy because his QB is getting older. How’s that make him a bad coach? He’s had nothing but success so far.
-
I would be shocked if we could get Clowney for a player and a mid round pick. If that’s it, I’m totally on board. Heck, I’d go a second and a player. Im actually not as worried about Brady specifically anymore. That NE offense has changed. He’s not who he was and I think this will be his last year. The last two years of his contract void and he has a no tag clause. He’s a free agent after this season.
-
That certainly has happened. In fact, of the last 25 Super Bowls 5 have been won that way. Four #1 defenses and one #2 defense with average or worse offenses won. But only one of those happened in the last 1O years - the 2015 Broncos with the #1 defense. That’s probably because of the somewhat recent rule changes. I’d love to have a dominant defense, but a quality offense is more important than ever in the NFL. On that note, the Bills defense was plenty good last season. Still, I am all for getting Clowney if it doesn’t substantially hinder our ability to improve our offense. I don’t want to see a first round pick as part of the package. As for where our offense stands, I do think they’ll be lucky to be average. I expect them to be a little below. Much more needs done there.
-
Please don’t put words In my mouth. My concern is that if we continue to pour resources into the defense at the expense of our offense then we don’t have a window for a Super Bowl. There are too many questions and obvious deficiencies on the offense to expect them to be able to contend. And for like the 50th time, I’m still in on trading for Clowney if we don’t have to give up a first.
-
I agree. I love the idea of adding a talent like Clowney long term. He’d help bring the defense to another level, but I don’t think it’s the right thing to do due to the likely trade compensation. I hate the idea of giving up a first. The Bills still have below average OL and WR as well as a QB who has yet to prove himself. I just can’t get on board with using next year’s first on upgrading the defense while the offense is so much more in need. If we can package some players and a second, then I’m interested.

Will do! Thanks!

Might have to give this a go as well. Then I’ll go to the more expensive stuff if I have to. I do like a good value.

Thank you. I’ll be trying this within the next couple days. Also thanks to to everyone who’s chimed in. As for readily available coffee, IMO Timmy Ho’s does a nice job at the store. I usually go dark roast. I agree that the stuff they sell for home use doesn’t taste quite the same. Or maybe I just expect more of my coffee at home. Starbucks is really good, but at a higher price point. I usually get a latte so I don’t get the burnt taste apparent in the espresso and regular coffee. I don’t care for Dunkin Donuts coffee, but could drink it if I had to. I agree that mcDonalds coffee is mop water. The last two times I got it a I threw it away. (There was a deal for a breakfast sandwich and coffee that was less than just the sandwich.)

Mayfield looked terrible last night...
BarleyNY replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FWIW Landry, OBJ, Njoku & Chubb did not play. The real issue might be the OL. There are definite problems there.
