  1. I agree. It wasn’t. Half of our points came during garbage time while the Pats were just bleeding the clock letting us work down the field. It was already over and they were on to next week.
  2. The dead money for McCoy and Clay would be the same regardless of whether they are cut or traded. $2.625M for Shady and $4.5M for Clay. Shady would cost an extra $6.425M if he plays for us and Clay an extra $4.5M. I’ve got no problem with saving nearly $11M by getting rid of them, but I’d like to see us get something in trade for at least one of them. It’s not that likely as I don’t see teams willing to part with picks for either, but you never know.
  3. I’m stunned that anyone could feel good about what they saw from Josh Allen on Sunday. Yes, there were certainly times when he was let down by his surrounding cast. And yes, he’s certainly shown things in previous games to give a guy hope. Also he was going against Belichick who has destroyed rookie QBs throughout his career so the performance should be taken with a grain of salt. But last Sunday Allen was brutally bad.
  4. Really need 4 QBs for TC. One that will be expected to make the team and one that won’t, but will have a chance to prove himself and be insurance against injury at the position.
  5. The Cards are last in the NFL in total rushing yards and YPC. Larry Fitzgerald is 35. The Cards have had a ton of injuries on their OL as well. Seems like your research wasn’t quite complete either. I’m not getting into the Josh v. Josh thing right now because I haven’t watched Rosen and it’s pointless anyway. Allen has impressed me with his athleticism and running ability as well as occasionally as a passer. He’s been lacking as a pocket QB and passer too often though. He’s young and very raw so that’s not a surprise. The potential certainly is there but he’s going to have to prove himself before I anoint him a FQB. That’s going to take time (if it happens at all) so I’m not getting ahead of that process. Also I’m not going to compare the two Joshs unless we’re talking about the Bills’ decision making. Rosen really doesn’t matter at all where rating Allen is concerned except in that context. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2018/
  6. Never said that and I certainly would not do it that way. Players have to protect their teammates when the referees don't though. A similar hit on one of their kickers would let them know we won't put up with that garbage. Cheap hits like that cost teams games - and not just the one they're playing in. Taking them and not giving them back is often referred to as "being someone's B word". Feel free to write a strongly worded letter to the league and see where that gets you. Edit: I love that this site autocorrected to B word
  7. I was pretty interested last year - for a little different reason though.
  8. Really? It didn’t sound like that to me at all. I’d just like to not jump the gun on getting rid of him so we can find his replacement first and also get something for him if we can. No need to be hasty.
  9. That’ll be his cap hit ($9.05M) but some of that would be dead money anyway. The difference to keep him is $6.425M. Still, you want value for that. I’m keeping him unless I get a trade or replace him first. He doesn’t have a roster bonus due and we will have plenty of cap space so there’s no hurry.
  10. Good point, but it didn’t carry over to the second half. There has to be a significant shot on an equivalent or more important player. That can be legal, borderline or illegal, but it has to happen or it will continue and we will always be at a disadvantage.
  11. Fully agree. Sure, send in a complaint to the league. But for the love of god, protect your teammates. There is no excuse for a lack of retaliation by the players for that and some of the hits on Josh. Failure in this area is the hallmark of a soft team. Also trotting an injured kicker out for a 54 yard attempt at that point in the game was inexcusable.
  12. I’m just so, so happy right now. KB, go F yourself. I hope that was the last dime you ever make in the NFL. You earned exactly none of the money you stole from the Bills.
  13. Both. But the pass was way easier to make than the catch, so bad pass gets my vote.
  14. The Wentz situation was just another example of how Hue acted in Cleveland. Taking the high road and saying nothing would’ve been fine, but he’s allowed to stick up for himself and (as a team leader) his teammates. That’s what he was doing. Hue trashed everyone when it was convenient to protect himself and his ego. Most of the players saw through him long before he was fired. And while he was certainly entitled to take a new job that doesn’t mean that Mayfield, Randall or anyone else needs to pretend they respect him. They’re perfectly entitled to treat him with the lack of respect that he earned.
  15. BS. Hue Jackson threw his players, assistant coaches and front office under the bus repeatedly to cover his own ineptitude. That includes revising history and outright lying. For example, Sashi wanted Wentz at 2 and Hue didn’t. They traded out for Hue, but that’s not what he put in the media after Wentz blew up. Then there’s all of the crap hue said about players, FO and assistants after he got fired. Baker was restrained.
  16. What a depressing list to have to argue about. Let’s hope we have an obvious #1 soon.
  17. Next year is his last under contract so you have to take the whole hit then. $4.5M if he’s not on the team. An extra $4.5M for him to play. It’ll probably make sense to keep him while looking for (drafting) his replacement and bringing that player along, but no matter what I don’t want to see him off the team until he’s adequately replaced.
  18. Those are the kinds of defenses the league wants - ones that allow a lot of exciting plays and scoring but also make impactful, exciting plays.
  19. It’s exactly what the NFL wants to become. I’d bet money that Roger Goodell climaxed several times during that game.
  20. The power ranking order is surprisingly close to the order the teams would be in if they went strictly by record. Hmmm.....
  21. It’s funny that I remember this particular game. In 2013 EJ went 20-28 for 245 and 2 TDs with no INTs against the Jest. Good for a 121.9 Passer Rating. Better stats than Barkley. Let’s not judge either him or Barkley on any one game. Barkley might make a competent backup beyond this season. I’d sure take that, but it is still a stretch at this time.
  22. It’s really the combination of decisions that qualify this as a botched job. Peterman and Allen as the only QBs. A very raw rookie and a 2nd year 5rh round pick who looked good in preseason but had an epically poor game in his only start. Then add a very bad receiving corps that’s not going to help those QBs at all. Lastly put them behind a poor - and thin - OL so that they are regularly pressured and the running game which could have taken pressure off of them is stuffed. I had a discussion about the Bills record this season after the Vikings game. I thought 5-11 and he was 8-8 but only with the caveat that Allen stayed healthy. I said forget it. No way does he stay healthy. Not with his current processing speed with those receivers and behind that line. The injuries to Allen and Anderson aren’t bad luck, they were a result of the botched job on the offensive side of the ball.
  23. It’s about making the most of the chances you get, not the chances you want. Things were far from optimal for Peterman, but there are countless people who would’ve traded places with him.
