  1. I’m trying to wrap my head around Mike Brown caring at all about Bengals fans. But I get your point.
  2. I can’t believe that Mike Brown isn’t in on Rosen. It seems perfect for a cheap bastige like him. Dalton could be cut along with his $16M salary this season. He’d have Rosen under contract for 3 seasons for $1.28M, $2.08M and $2.88M, respectively. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/josh-rosen-25105/
  3. That’s really the thing here. Oliver is the guy I wanted who I thought could reasonably make it to the Bills. We got him. Pretty much all of the other players others preferred were already gone. Except for Metcalf. And his fans can’t reasonably argue that he should have been the pick at 9 now. They are busy still hoping for him to be a Bill anyway.
  4. Teams pumped him up too (publicly, that is). A player with his measurables is tailored made for teams to feign interest in. The media goes nuts.
  5. Lots of OL out there too
  6. Sure. I’ll root for the players taken even if I don’t think they have a high probability of success. But I can still discuss my expectations and their progress (or lack thereof). I can stay objective.
  7. Yup. Especially since the guy you’d be drafting might not even end up playing OT.
  8. Now I want lighting to flash and thunder to roar menacingly every time that Goodell speaks.
  9. Would much, much, much prefer Oliver in this scenario. Thus, I would be disappointed in Jonah Williams. I don’t worry about JW’s technique, but I do worry somewhat about his athleticism. It adequate but it isn’t elite or even above average for an OT. For me 9 is too high for a player that doesn’t check both boxes - tape and measurables. I’m not saying he won’t be good, just that I don’t take the risk there. Give me Oliver. (Before anyone says it, I don’t have any issue with his playing weight. It’s enough that it is not a negative at all.) Edited to add that I’d have no issue with taking an OT at 9 that did check both boxes.
  10. Thats a lot more interesting to me.
  11. I’m in Naples, FL seeing my dad. I’ll be watching it with him. Round one at his place and rounds 2 & 3 at a local bar.
  12. The 5th was fine. Paying McCarron $4.1M to get that 5th was stupid. So was keeping Peterman on the roster.
  13. Instantly. But there’s no way Philly or anyone else offers anything close to that for Shady now. That would value him as a 3rd round pick by the way.
  14. Agree with all of this except for Grier. Watch Gettleman take him at the top of the second round and think he got a steal. Just like when Miami took Ginn and then Beck in the second. I still remember Mueller and Cameron sitting in the presser acting like they put one over on the league. I think the rest is spot on though. There will be DL taken in the second that would usually never make it close to the end of the first. The QBs - aside from Murray - will fall. Or rather they should fall.
  15. I’ll do the Browns if open.
  16. Let’s try to stay on topic, Yolo. Geez.
  17. DTs aren’t sexy. We’re also probably not picking high enough for a top DE. Great prospects will still be available, but there’s so many options at 9 and so much disagreement about whom to take it’s tough to get psyched. I expect a workmanlike draft that’s more productive than exciting - and I’m really good with that.
  18. Thats usually true, but not in the case of Clowney and the Texans. They placed the non exclusive franchise tag on him. He can negotiate with other teams until he signs it. I do not see where he has done that yet.
  19. That’s my first choice. Also now thinking about Pittsburgh. If they are out of the playoff race and the Bills are still in it, then I’d expect a lot of Buffalonians to make that short trip. The Stillers are usually in it, but it sure seems like it could be a down year for them.
  20. Gotta agree with this. The Bills should’ve had at least one prime time game. The Thanksgiving Game doesn’t technically count as one, but I do view it as equivalent. Even so, the Bills deserve that and at least one additional prime time game. It is disrespectful.
  21. It had been a long time since the Browns had intentionally tanked. Then Sashi Brown took over a few years ago (he was fired when Dorsey was hired). The 0-16 and 1-15 seasons were tank years - although they were expecting a few more wins than that. There certainly were a lot of seasons where they were trying and looked like they were tanking though.
  22. No. Looking to trade him. They’ve been asking for a 3rd. Nobody is in on that, obviously. I expect to see him traded during the draft for a lot less than that.
  23. 5th year options are only guaranteed for injury until the first day of the league year when they become fully guaranteed. So if picked up it could be rescinded unless Lawson has an injury that will linger into next season. Picking it up would set the expectations for guarantees and the basic average salary in his next contract however. That’s the issue. If he’s not worth $11M guaranteed with close to that on average then they shouldn’t pick it up. This year will go a long way to determining whether or not he’s worth that. I guess I’d pick it up and try to work out a LTD if he plays well enough to earn a big contract. And I’d rescind it and let him walk if he didn’t.
  24. I’m in agreement. He’s a very good DE with the tools to be great, but he hasn’t been. We’d have to pay the price for an elite DE to acquire him and keep him. That’s a hard pass.
  25. It’s from a Browns site, but they appear to be running the same basic defensive scheme as the Bills. You can see why McD moved to Bills to a a base of Cover 3. I think the Bills are utilizing route matching, but someone that has done some research with All 22 can verify. https://247sports.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/Article/Film-Study-Why-I-Detest-Spot-Drops-in-Zone-Coverage-131106759/
