4 pages and no votes for Allen!?!? Crazy. But seriously. Now it’s Tyreek Hill. Previously it was James Harrison. Both are POS. Also I do not care for players like Aaron Hernandez and OJ who murdered people. And you can quote me on that.

I wonder if it has to do with Yeldon’s pass blocking. Some here have said that he’s poor at it. Assuming that’s true, then you would not want him on the field much these days since most teams are blitzing the ***** out of Allen pretty much constantly.

To be fair, the Cheatriots are tuned into that frequency too. Funny related story. Apparently Hoyer (during his first stint with the Pats) accidentally got his helmet switched with Brady’s and noticed that the communication didn’t shut off at the 15 second mark of the play clock. Cheatriots gotta Cheatriot I guess.

I’ve been a saying that “the Bills are a QB away”. I’ll allow that it still could be Allen that steps up and is that QB, but right now he’s not. He showed promise of that kind of growth in the previous three games, but can’t seem to handle the type of defense that he faced against the Pats, Browns and Ravens. If he can’t be effective against C0 and C1 with a lot of blitzing, then that’ll be mostly what he sees. Honestly I’m surprised when I’ve seen teams play heavy zone against him. It’s like they didn’t even bother to scout him or just went with what their usual scheme was rather than adapt to their opponent. Still, the good teams will adapt and that’ll be a problem in the playoffs unless something clicks with Josh. I’m happy that Daboll is still giving him the chance to do that. That’s the only way he has a chance to grow.

Yup. He may have hated the Patriots. He may have wanted like hell to beat them. He may have wanted to win games and even a Super Bowl. But he didn’t want any of that badly enough to actually put real time and effort into accomplishing it.

A Few Thoughts about the Ravens Game, in no particular order
BarleyNY replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He underthrows and even gets some off right/left too, though overthrows are the most common. One of the early deep throws was obviously an overthrow but it was also off right. He had one in the 2nd half where the WR was double covered over/under. The pass was so underthrown that the under DB couldn’t get back to it. That’s just off the top of my head. I’d hope that it is fixable as he fixed his short/flat right side passes. That was footwork related. I worry that the long balls aren’t so easily fixed though. Maybe it’s a matter of things slowing down for him so he isn’t feeling rushed when making those throws. I dunno though. I’m many cases he seems to have time and not be rushed. It might just be who he is. I’m sure the coaches are working with Allen on it and they see if it’s a consistent issue in both practice and games or if it just happens on Sunday. That’s a big difference. If it isn’t an issue in practice, then that sure would explain why they’re having him go deep early in games. Or maybe he’s hot and cold regardless and they want to see if he’s on that day. In any event, the Patriots, Browns and Ravens all looked to throw similar defenses against Allen. Blitzing and man coverage is primarily what I’d expect to see from any defense that can competently do that until Allen shows that he can beat it. -
Preseason performance? Well, he’s no Nathan Peterman. That’s for sure.

Presumption of innocence in a legal sense of utmost importance. I’d never argue otherwise. But presumption of innocence in everyday life is very, very different. We are all free to speculate and even make (hopefully logical) inferences regarding situations in daily life. Hopefully that’s done evenly and not only in select cases. You know, because it’d be immoral to do that. I will leave it there. You have a nice day too.

Sure, I don’t think anyone is arguing that rich/famous people pay to have borderline or embarrassing stuff go away. But you said “Assuming Chad did the alleged” he’d pay “if only to make this go away”. So why’s that? Why wouldn’t he be legitimately in the hook for payment in that case? Also that’s a pretty big leap of faith to think he didn’t do anything wrong here, even if it’s not as cut and dried as the lawsuit indicates. It’s not like the alleged wouldn’t be in line with previous behavior.

Why “if only to make it go away”? If Kelly did bust this guys face and camera up, shouldn’t he at least have to pay for the medical bills and replacement of equipment? Isn’t that the very least he should have to do?

Seems like a nose so badly broken that it takes four surgeries to properly fix is some pretty solid proof that Choad did something to the guy. Four surgeries is probably what took so long to file. I don’t know what the videographer is suing for, but seems as though should at least have that paid for. And the equipment Choad broke.

Nope. No way. Shaq is a decent player, but he’s not worth close to what his option year would’ve paid him - $9.45M. That also would’ve set the floor for a new contract. That average salary per year would rank 21st among DEs. No thanks. He is not close to that kind of player. However he is a player that I’d like to have in my 3 DE rotation, but I’m not happy if he’s one of my starting 2. I’d be happy to pay him accordingly. If not, there’s other guys out there to fill that role.

But if we were talking lacrosse...........

Peter King's Take on the Bills - 12/2/19

Yeah. Glorifying and vilifying people are dangerous practices and should be avoided without exception. -

Top 4 passing QB - No winning records
BarleyNY replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 300 yard passing yards thing around is really annoying. Sure, QBs often hit that when playing from behind and lose. Sure, it’s more important to be efficient than to get a lot of yards. But, newsflash, sometimes a QB needs to be both efficient and rack up a lot of yards. Anyone want to guess when that usually is? Hint: It’s when two really good teams often play each other. So that'd be the playoffs. For example, let’s check out last season’s playoffs. SB: no 300 yard passer, tho the winner had more passing yards Conf Champs: one 300 yd passer won, other game won by QB with more passing yards Div: one 300+ yd QB beat another (winner had more yards), another 300+ yd QB won their game. In other two games no 300 yard passer. One of those winning QBs had more yards. The other had fewer. WC: only one 300+ yd QB who lost. That was Trubisky in Chicago who lost on the missed FG as time expired. So, yeah, you don’t necessarily need 300 yard passing games from your QB to win, but it sure helps - especially when you’re in the playoffs. And one last thing - I’m not ripping on Allen here. He’s improving and if that continues, it’ll come. I expect Daboll to ask more of him against better teams so the table is set for it this season or post season. -

Allen is bringing me around to believing, but I still think Lamar is Fool’s Gold. Eventually being THAT bad of a passer will catch up to him. Also I don’t see him holding up physically. He doesn’t have the frame. -
Where does Brady play after this season?
BarleyNY replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’d be a really bad move for him to do that. It would cost him a lot of goodwill in NE and he’d pretty much need to win a SB or have an MVP season to come our on top. And it’s not like he needs the money. Regardless of what happens this season, he’ll be going out on top of the world. Why F that up? Oh, and if Brees keeps playing too, he will still have some of those records. -

Yeah, it’s not perfect. But it does correspond nicely with Allen’s improvement this season. He was totally dragging ass earlier in the season. Up to 23rd from 32nd-ish makes a lot of sense. If he continues these kinds of performances he’ll be looking very, very good next season both on the field and with his metrics.
